Nope. There is 0 chance for a movie like Robocop to be made now or for the foreseeable future, or any other movie like it from the 70s-80s etc. Unless there is some kind of total collapse and everything has to start from zero again. The knowledge to do the special effects for a film like Robocop no longer exists. There are too many easy outs now days which offer people alternatives to shooting on location, shooting with real blanks, squibs, etc. No one is willing to put in the enormous effort required to make various high quality models and props that might only be seen for 2 seconds of total film. Shooting with digital and LED lighting will never give the same visual feeling as real film and real lights, and the very basic mentality of film making is effected in subtle but important ways due to no longer having that sense of limitations that a physical medium like film imparts. The writing talent no longer exists and if it exists then it gets ground out by the current studio systems. So on and so forth. A lot of people still seem to be under the delusion that great films from earlier eras could possibly be made again with some slight changes in hollywood, but the fact is that it is a very definite no chance.
