>Rooster Teeth just privated every episode of Camp Camp on YouTube with no explanation though a prevailing theory is that it's to get people to watch the show on their broken website, as if that'll work when most of the show's fanbase discovered it through the YT uploads and most people never watch it on RT's website, as evidenced by the fact that some fans don't even realize Season 4 was a thing[spoiler]
And this show's future was looking so bright, too.

Really? I thought Rooster Teeth was a sinking ship after RWBY and Gen:lock

Yeah, RT's a dumpster fire with no lifeboats, but Camp Camp specifically got a new special, new merch, and more confirmed episodes on the way.

Yeah, really the moment they started doing crunch and gave gray Gen:lock was the final nail for RT. They dropped all their other series for his shitty animated totally not gundam show with tons of overly expensive va having show.

Yeah, RT's a dumpster fire with no lifeboats, but Camp Camp specifically got a new special, new merch, and more confirmed episodes on the way.

true and now it's been what 3 months? so I feel this is a ploy for them to get new views on RT and set up the drop of the new eps.

But who know maybe it's getting silently dropped or worse, horror of horror they plan on saling it for tax write offs.

funny enough I just saw a refence in scribblejuice's new vid. So i guess people still like the show but yeah most of the fandom is dead. the new special did revive it slightly though

I liked the show up until they decided they didn't want to do edgy jokes anymore when that was the humor it was originally based in.

Yeah, when they redesigned Dolph because they didn't want to make light hearted Hitler/Nazi jokes anymore, and of course when they recast Max because it's verboten for a white guy to voice a brown character anymore is when I lost interest. I had given up on their video game content years ago because that one black chick was annoying and the guys kept babying her, but recently I checked it out to see what it's like (their videos barely break 50k views, holy shit) and I noticed they kept referring to Lindsay as 'they', so that's apparently a thing now.

When did they redesign dolph that’s fricking stupid like I jumped ship after season three because they were starting to go the whole overly emotional character development type shit and it seems like that was the right choice

It's hard to keep a fandom alive when the seasons are a few years apart, then they specifically kept season 4 from appearing anywhere but their own private streaming service. So to the general public the series ended around 2017.

There's theories that RWBY will get absorbed by DC due to the crossover comics and movies with Justice League
Red vs Blue is likely dead or unrecognizable since I don't see modern Microsoft playing as nicely with another conglomerate as they did with RT.
Camp Camp probably rots on relevant streaming services.

I feel like we all said this 2 years ago. The most entertaining part of the RT downward spiral is how RWBY money and the parasocial nature of their fandom seems to let them constantly avoid the death blow. You don't even have #ChangeTheChannel levels of viewer drop and that one legit had more debunked allegations involved particularly with Doug while they immediately got rid of the manager who caused all the really big problems and the rape parts involved a guy whose six feet under
I'm still firmly in the camp of "it's inevitable but we shouldn't put a date to it."

The rest of the complaints about Channel Awesome seemed to be wrapped around the fact that the people in charge never once took themselves seriously as a production company management and kept on acting like a bunch of friends fricking around. Which works until they start hiring professionals to work under them who expect some level of professionalism at any point, and never got it.

Even years before #ChangeTheChannel there were loads of stories from various camera guys and sound guys venting about how fricking nightmarish it was to work under those idiots who had no idea what they were doing.

Might be recalling it incorrectly, but didn't the latter two seasons devolve into dramedy? Why the frick does every "adult animation" show do this? And did they actually give a reason for firing competent VAs and replacing them with pajeets who wouldn't stick the role other than "diversity"

      Anonymous

They did, season 3 had a couple odd dramatic episodes that were weird to watch and one or two lore episodes that only existed to explain shit that was otherwise just a one-off joke in earlier seasons.

Actually turning Quartermaster from some crazy old mountain man into an actual shaman wizard guy that really did keep cosmic balances kind of ruined the whole joke about him. Then they had to turn Max from some angry little shit into a really abused, emotionally damaged guy the audience is supposed to feel sorry for. Did we ever really need to learn all the history of Spooky Island? It was a joke.

Maybe unrelated, but after the special finale episode, there’s been a wave of weirdos with a hate boner for the show. Maybe they want to keep away from them in youtube?

Search Camp Camp on twitter or the quote retweets of the special episode trailer they released and you'll see tons of people complaining about the show, saying it's not funny and gross. Probably the combined hatred of the people hating the hitler/incest jokes and the overall hatred for Rooster Teeth in general. Some of that is why Dolph stopped being a hitler joke.

        Anonymous

It's a mix of hatred for all things Roosterteeth after all the scandal news came out last year, so twitter is going to hate them and everything they touched already. But then they were claimed to be nazi apologists for having Dolph in the show for a while, prompting his change. And also edgy offensive humor is really going to attract twitter hate, and it did.

Then making the changes turned off the fans, and they started complaining about what is going on too so now RT has few fans.

damn, they really couldnt win no matter what they did. I guess this is the lesson of what happens when you engage with loud minorities twitter fandoms and neglect the actual customers

            Anonymous

Companies are starting to slowly learn that Twitter is not a perfect market research tool, and it actually doesn't equal audience engagement. But it took years for them to get there. Seems around 2017 or so almost everyone decided that Twitter is the actual pulse of what every single customer base likes and wants, but shifting gears over to please twitter did not equal pleasing majority of the viewing audience or consumers at all. Which again had some huge problems when around 2019 or so they moved to the format of
            >Like this and praise it, or else we will call you an evil bigot!
...which did not go over well with customers again

If there is anything to be learned from the last 6 months of Bud Light stupidity, it's Know Your Audience. which companies used to practice before deciding twitter is all the market research they need

              Anonymous

It was out of touch boomers thinking they were getting in on the latest up to date craze of the youth. This is also why so many people decided to abandon their current customer base for the Twitter base. Guys behind shit like role playing games, comics etc saw that they only had a dedicated customer base of like 3-5 million, but saw that Twitter users are close to a billion and thought it was a perfectly sound decision to drop their current customers and try to court Twitter crowds and grab a few dozen million NEW customers in the process. They are also learning this was a stupid decision to make, but lots of guys are all in and cannot really turn back.

        > In a September 2020 Tumblr post, RT Animation director Jordan Cwierz explained Rooster Teeth does not cancel shows it owns, but under the company's restructuring, shows like Camp Camp now fall under the RT Studios label, meaning they are no longer produced on their own and are being shopped to partners

Yes we remember when RT blew it's foot off, when they moronly thought Gen:Lock was worth forcing crunch and making them a mostly blacklisted organization to animators who weren't desperate or stupid. Also relocating all the good writers and artist to a show that was made via nepotism and ego. Then causing a mass exodus of both fans and creatives, also the death of tons of their actually liked shows.
