always thought the way cameron shot this was intentionally in the undertaking of making her look villainous. i'm not even being ironic either: the overpowering, ghostly light seemingly emanating from her; the stark white, long sleeping gown; her cronish appearance and the nature itself of what she's doing - she's like some sort of witch that's gained long life and happiness from the tragic deaths of everyone who couldn't escape the ship and now at last she returns their trapped souls to the sea. in short she looks fricking spooky
