This is kind of a tangent, but 30k, oldhammer, and epic scale are really the only GW games worth playing at this point. I recommend NetEpic Armageddon, Warmaster Revolution, 1st through 3rd editions of 40k, and finding a 30k scene that has zero tolerance for win-at-all-costs behavior. The folks around them are also very supportive of kitbashing and 3D prints so long as what you see is what you get, making them much more affordable to get into as long as you have an SLA printer or Ivan and Chang at hand. I've come across a few people that have a buddy with a printer who prints minis in return for covering the cost in resin used, which is most often cents at a time.
