>korra isn't a bad show by any means. by default it beats almost all other western cartoons because western cartoons are that bad.
Why do i care what shit turd has the most corn?
The first season villain was actually not bad. The main villain started off genuinely interesting, but by the end they turned him into a meme villain and killed him off too early. The other seasons are pieces dogshit which should genuinely never be watched by anyone. They completely ruined the world building of the series and turned most of the characters new or old into caricatures. Instead of trying to tell a focused story they just went lmao and did whatever the frick they wanted each season.
Also pretty sure Korra is revealed to be a dyke in the later seasons.
Ah, well that's news to me. I gave up on it halfway through the second season. It genuinely grinds my gears how much they fricked this series up. They had a perfect start. The setting was just differentiated enough from ATLA to not just be a rehash, but they killed off any actual story.
>Also pretty sure Korra is revealed to be a dyke in the later seasons.
what's funny is that she ends up with the girl that used to be her love rival for her boyfriend in the early season, them being dykes is so random and forced, it's hilariously bad, the fact that they had a complete opposite dynamic at the start really showed of the transitional phase of wokeism creeping into media
He was a great villain for like 99% of the series, until we found out he's just some blood bending moron with sibling problems, that's what retroactively turned him into a meme villain.
It is considerably different than the first show. ATLA was a multi-season journey against a single antagonist. TLOK had a new antagonist each season, and advanced the setting in ways some people didn't like.
There are great parts to it, as well as parts that were compromised because the studio told them they were going too dark. The second season has interesting ideas but ruins the antagonist entirely. The third season's antagonist is really solid, and voiced by Henry Rollins of all people.
Well it DID want to be like anime and that's generally a staple of anime sequels. I'd say 80% of them are not just shit on their own merits but also make sure to destroy the original while they're at it
I had a feeling it'd happen with Korra so I steered clear
>korra torches the entire franchise >symbionic titan gets shitcanned and will never ever get finished >rick and morty begins
man that was a rough couple of years
Titan was great but I will be honest, its dated. That whole highschool dynamic doesn't appeal to zoomers anymore, its the kind of series that would be GOAT in 2002, its downright alienating on 2018 or whenever it came out. A shame because you could feel a lot of love put into it.
2010 was basically the last time you could get away with a twerk scene in a children's cartoon. Sym-bionic titan was only a victim of circumstances, cable viewership was down and any major animation intensive project was gonna get axed.
I was shocked at that scene after watching it by accident on my tv randomly. Genndy is a horny motherfricker and is not ashamed, I wonder how the cartoon network execs took that episode.
>I was shocked at that scene after watching it by accident on my tv randomly.
Yeah sure anon, whatever you say. At least Genndy is open about being horny...
Zaheer was the best as a whole. He had a cool gimmick and had a consistent goal and ideals.
Amon started out cool and "mysterious" but ended up shit because he just turned out to be an insincere fraud so they could ignore all the points he made.
Kuvira was basically Amon without the mystery and a moronic giant robot.
Korras Uncle was so bad I don't even remember his name. Just completely incoherent and contradictory in ideas or even what he is trying to accomplish besides "being evil".
Amon had so much potential as a character and his argument was so compelling it defeated the writers and they had to resort to character assassination.
>manage to create a nuanced antagonist with goals that the audience can actually identify and empathize with to the point where some viewers even agree with him >oh whoops that was an accident, here let me turn him into a lazy caricature and suck all the intrigue out of the conflict between the factions of the show
why the frick are writers like this? I mean know why, but how is it that they all choose ideology over legacy? And if they're all ideologues from the start how is it that they always manage to accidentally create these interesting characters before lobotomizing them in a reactionary tantrum caused by sections of the audience "interpreting the character wrong"?
Iirc they initially did not think they were going to get a second season. Both Avatar series constantly underperformed ratings wise and both were considered for the chopping block multiple times.
Korra even had its second season just unceremoniously dumped on Nickelodeon's website free of charge so they could just get it off air and out of its time slot.
am i pozzed if i genuinely thought the first portion of the first season and its setup and amon/equalists were really good
idk why the frick they did what they did at the end and everything after also forced lesbians and cuckold firebenders and femdommed earthbenders
really sad series to watch
Only watched through the series once after it was all done, but I remember feeling the order of the antagonists were really janky.
You've got Amon, then a giant world altering spirit creature, then some airbending obsessed dude, then the metal bending b***h. World altering spirit should have been the final antagonist of the series as the following 2 just seem weak and less interesting in comparison. If they insist on altering the world and giving some non-benders the ability to airbend, then it would make more sense to have Amon come after and give more motive for why he'd want to take away people's bending.
It didn't just retroactively ruin TLA it ruined any chance for a sequel, too. It ruined the entire setting.
Korra was like pouring radioactive waste into the town well
?
Avatar Sneed
Jesus fricking christ.
>in the modern day
Literally who in the frick would want that?
It was like a bad self-insert OC avatar fan fiction that somehow got adapted into an official series.
well good thing i turned it off 2 minutes after it started
A giant platinum mecha that shoots frickin laser beams from it's arm!
no it didn't. ATLA is still great despite korra's flaws.
and korra isn't a bad show by any means. by default it beats almost all other western cartoons because western cartoons are that bad.
>korra isn't a bad show by any means. by default it beats almost all other western cartoons because western cartoons are that bad.
Why do i care what shit turd has the most corn?
Because I said so you fricking Black person
>and korra isn't a bad show by any means.
kek
>Retcons what the Avatar is
>Erases all the previous Avatars
>Protagonist is an arrogant c**t who never leans anything
>Erases all the previous Avatars
Imagine being that poor next avatar after korra, only having her to talk for experience
Never watched this, why exactly is it so hated?
It essentially torched the franchise by removing all lore and didn’t really create anything worth building off of.
At least there’s lots of Korra porn on the internet.

"Revealed" is a strong word, they pussy-footed around being woke so they could pull out if they wanted, and the ending is a cop-out.
Korra walked so that She-Ra could run.
Ah, well that's news to me. I gave up on it halfway through the second season. It genuinely grinds my gears how much they fricked this series up. They had a perfect start. The setting was just differentiated enough from ATLA to not just be a rehash, but they killed off any actual story.
season 3 is genuinely kino, watch it then bail, season 4 gets dipped right back in the moron bath.
>Also pretty sure Korra is revealed to be a dyke in the later seasons.

>meme villain
Ammon was one of the greatest villains in western animation. His motivation and relationship with Tarloq is unparalleled.

What were they even trying to do in Korra, what was the plan that they thought worked because this is an embarrassment
Well it DID want to be like anime and that's generally a staple of anime sequels. I'd say 80% of them are not just shit on their own merits but also make sure to destroy the original while they're at it
I had a feeling it'd happen with Korra so I steered clear
Was so bad I tuned out 2 episodes in while it was airing.
>they write in a giant robot fight
>twice
Straight up non-sense.
the only good about korra it's the porn.
>korra torches the entire franchise
>symbionic titan gets shitcanned and will never ever get finished
>rick and morty begins

Season 3 was kino, but season 2 was dogshit and almost every plot point that stemmed from season 2 dragged down the whole story.
>they don't maintain their own personal headcannon disregarding anything bad
>first season ends with the murder-suicide of the antagonists
how would you rank the antagonists anons
Amon>GET IN THE VAN>Fascist Dyke>>>
Guy
3, 4, 1, 2. 2 would be higher if they had resolved the story properly instead of turning him into a moron.
pre-bloodbending amon was the only good one
the rest were just plot-device wielders
Zaheer was the best as a whole. He had a cool gimmick and had a consistent goal and ideals.
Amon started out cool and "mysterious" but ended up shit because he just turned out to be an insincere fraud so they could ignore all the points he made.

Korras Uncle was so bad I don't even remember his name. Just completely incoherent and contradictory in ideas or even what he is trying to accomplish besides "being evil".
1. Zaheer - Extremely cool goons. Dabbed on everyone
2. Amon - lolboat
3. Kuvira - pretty shit
4. literally who
Amon had so much potential as a character and his argument was so compelling it defeated the writers and they had to resort to character assassination.

I never watched this, but I have blasted huge loads to the porn it created.

idk why the frick they did what they did at the end and everything after also forced lesbians and cuckold firebenders and femdommed earthbenders

Its a crap series, for sure. Making her a dyke at the end literally murdered it forever!.
Only watched through the series once after it was all done, but I remember feeling the order of the antagonists were really janky.

Korra is way better than TLA and I'm tired of people with shit taste saying otherwise
low iq take
It was okay. Not great, not abysmal, just okay.
Anyone claiming that watching mediocre things retroactively ruins kino things for them is a whiny homosexual though.
>btfo generations of Airbenders and the avatar
Damn, who could have guessed pussy is the ultimate earthly tether...
>pussy is the ultimate earthly tether
Korra's feet ain't ever leaving the ground.
