I liked his over the top choreography.
The reality is that Monty is just someone who is too easy to mythologize. A talented self-made self-taught artist who died tragically young at the peak of his work with his last series being viewed as a pioneer for the online generation reaching mainstream success.
I think the real reason his name is constantly invoked is less about plot details or what's being done with the characters and more about the fact that the series is one of those cases where you unironically feel like the whole things gone soulless. Like there was a desperation to make it seem more "legitimate" to the point it lost that "passion project" charm

Color me surprised. It's a girl show and Jaune simply and sadly lives in it.
His fights were the only good parts of the show. Many, including me, wouldn't have gave the show the time of day if it weren't for the ridiculously over-the-top fights and weapons.
