A lot of canonical texts make it ambiguous as to whether Satan is even an entity separate from God or not. I don't really recall anything about him just wanting to be left alone.

Actually the texts are very vague on this subject, as they are on a few other subjects but essentially:
        >Lucifer, an angel (name meaning Bringer of Light), was created perfect by God but was corrupted by his own pride in wanting be God (this predates the Original Sin)
        >Lucifer was either King of Tyre, or controlled the King of Tyre, which was a human settlement on earth which later rebelled against God.
        >As a result God cast Lucifer into Hell using the angel Michael, although it is unclear whether Hell is really Lucifer's domain or his prison considering he later accesses Heaven in Job.
        >There is also debate over what Sheol and Abaddon are, they are israeli and Christian believed pits of nothingness thought to open up during the end of days. It's unclear whether it's a place or a person and if it is controlled by God or Satan

          Anonymous

The key to all of this is understanding Sheol and Sauls teachings, combining them rather than seeing it as contradictions. But few are equipped to understand the text on this level

            >But few are equipped to understand the text on this level
few are able to maintain that kind of doublethink, you mean?

              Anonymous

No, few are able to process the death experience, the out of body experience, and the astral/heavenly planes and thats what the shiol stuff is really getting at but of course to you thats double think, because you dont want to understand you just want to target those with faith. You cant put words in my mouth or try to get me to say something im not.

                Anonymous

yet you refuse to elaborate and constantly claim that only you can understand this thing. how about you try to explain it plainly? and dont hide behind some divine insight or some bullshit like that.

                Anonymous

Im not refusing to do anything I said my piece and instead of engaging like a human you lash out like a monkey. But I will elaborate. What we call the astral realm or astral travel the bible calls "the heavens" and when you similarly match our modern metaphysical terminology to recurring terminology and symbolism in the bible you see irrefutable parallels. Then compare that with modern study of conciousness and out of body travel and you begin to see the scriptures in a new light. Esentially, the death process is customized for everyone based on their convictions but some steps are universal like the "purgatory" or shiol state and a state of judgment. But biblical scholars dont understand this and see it as a binary, they think you either die and one specific thing happens or its all bullshit but that is not the case. Parts of the death experience are elaborated on in some chapters, and other parts in others, and the differences are based on the symbolism the author of that chapter was using, which also requiers understanding how those symbols were used in other chapters. So its like analyzing any other book or story, if you dont connect the dots or understand the internal logic you are bound to form conjecture which happens when people discuss sheol.

Where you got that from? the bible? the bible is a israelite compendium of old religions designed to become trendy, create a religion of slaves and finally rot Rome from the inside. Lucifer is Samael, is Venus, is Prometheus. Keep coping and adoring jahbulón, who wanted to keep humans as mindless drone slaves forever and punished any attempt of raising beyond animalistic nature. I'll side with he who offered freedom to humanity.

          >Without an alternative unifying theory all you can do is toss stones in a glass house.
The unifying theory is one that us humans deduce through empirical observation and then impose on nature. Law, in other words. We do this a lot better than god does considering our human judges and scholars are actually subjected to some kind of rigor.

Sure, we're just puppets for a stupid game but what neither of them realize is that we win by default just by the virtue of our souls. There's actually a Marvel-like moment where God makes a floating scale appear in the sky that signifies Satan's power level compared to that of an archangel, and it's so much in the angel's favor, Satan basically leaves with his tail tucked between his legs. It's a pretty funny scene.
But all in all, Paradise Lost is a tragedy for all involved. It will make you feel pity even for Satan, even though he is ultimately portayed as being in the wrong.

The flawed human mind is incapable of fully understanding or grasping the "divine good" as is by god and we foolishly try to compare it with our "mortal good" that originated from our imperfect being so only an existence like god can be good because we are not god and thus our good does not match god's good as we're not truly good and perfect ourselves like god/good is.

God is the embodiment of Love itself. There are a lot of interpretations of hell in Christian circles, but one of the most interesting is that hell and heaven are the same place but represent a different fundamental reaction to the love of God, with evil people, who knowingly rejected Him and that morality seeing an eternal union with God as being an eternity of pain. Once you’ve seen real evil (or experienced it) this isn’t too hard to believe. Think about the kinds of fricked up people that roam the earth today, especially in our governments. Unfeeling, uncaring, undaunted. Love is a foreign and oftentimes scary idea that they write at.

How is free will real? You didn't choose to be born, you didn't choose the place, time or family you're born in, you come to the world and are forced to take part in it. This is the complete opposite of free will.

you don't understand what will means. will does not mean power. free will is the ability to be conscious, react, be proactive, to learn, to adapt, and plan ahead. you can will yourself to more power, but at the end of the day we will always be subject to powers that make our entire galaxy look like a sub-atomic particle.

Thats the entire point of the bible that pantheons are moronic and if you keep trying to explain shit with mysticism youll just keep making up more and more dieties who, like all things, eventually have a creator source or originator. The point of christianity is no more sun god, no more goddess of love, no nore pantheons, one god. So if you accept the premise of gods existing this makes more sense, if you think no gods exist of course it all sounds equally stupid. But if its all equally stupid/made up then it really shouldnt bother you either way.

Yes because what you said is wrong and moronic. The Bible isn't particularly concerned with pantheons being wrong. It's concerned that YHWH is the one True God, and therefore any other religion is wrong, including competing monotheistic religions.

There are specific verses that call out other gods, specifically look up calling out the "goddess of heaven" to the egyptians and the sun god to others, it actually pops up so many times I cant count it. Youre doing the typical faux argument where israeli association makes something bad and you think calling me a bunch of names will peer pressure me into backing down or some shit like this is middle school. The Bible IS concerned with this topic and if you try to outright lie again while posing yourself as authority with name calling ill pull out scripture to disprove you

                >There are specific verses that call out other gods
because if you're submitting to other gods, you're not giving your undivided attention to YHWH, which is all YHWH cares about. If order were the guiding motive behind the bible, then god wouldn't be notorious for acting arbitrarily and capriciously.

For that matter, I don't want any group of people who have psyoped themselves into becoming totally atomized and opposed to civilization setting up cult communes around the country. I think that's literally step 1 for increasing the rate of domestic terrorism in your country. It doesn't have anything to do with the garbage you believe, it's just a matter of whether you will become a security risk for normal society.

What in the frick are you on about? This has nothing to do with anything I've said, at all. Read the documents before commenting like an clueless moron about absolutely nothing. There's specific MOs for "domestic terrorism" too and those are separate and have different methods too.

            lol
your line of bullshit has been repeated for tens of centuries.

what is actually happening is religion adapting to cultural change in order to survive. the most fervent christians of the 1800s would have been executed as heretics a few centuries prior. you'd be burnt at a stake as an apostate if jesus waved a magic wand and isekaied you back to the 1800s.
all religions that fail to adapt to cultural change end up lost to history. the most successful religions are constantly branching; some leaning towards fundamentalism and other branches towards progressive. the more branches, the more likely your religion is to remain competitive at the cost it ending up fractured like christianity of today with its baptists, catholics, 7th day adventists, etc. worst case scenario your religion embraces fundamentalism for centuries like this guy wants and you end wiping your ass with your hand and cutting out of work 3 times a day to put a rug down and pray to a pedophile

tl/dr: you are a fricking moron and likely have some sort of mental illness that prevents you from engaging reality

It's not the 1800s. Religion is not adapting to anything, Christianity is currently at the lowest % it's ever been since the founding of the Constitution or the separation of government and religion, creating secular law. You can already see the effects in every facet of our culture, today. Not just in media but on the streets as well. Stop bringing up nonsense about outlier groups too, the glowies don't give a shit about 7th day adventists, are you genuinely stupid? I can tell you're a gen Xer because instead of reading the actual MOs you'd rather sit here and get mad over a post. Maybe you should call your parents and tell them how mad you are because they raised an equally moronic idiot that sits on anime boards talking to himself.

All you have to do is go read what the glowies think of you, that's literally all you need to do. Even if it's a red herring, it paints a very accurate and pin point picture of religion in our country. It also paints the most common sense approach as a multi-level risk with very specific MOs against it. That's real domestic terrorism, not whatever stupid nonsense you're bringing up.

I love how some non-Christian cultures have interpreted Lucifer. Their perspective is that God is flawed so Lucifer chooses to stand up to him for some of his decisions despite his infinite power. In that perspective Lucifer is the superlative avatar of courage and justice-seeking.

there’s a lot of sad sacks in this thread that don’t quite understand, how simple and sad the devil really is, because their general vindictiveness they have mirrors satan in hell.

Pride is ultimately satan’s chief sin, that doesn’t mean admiring himself in the mirror but adopting a representation of reality unwilling to interpret reality beyond one that circulates through his own eyes and ego. As an Angel, he possesses a complete understanding of God’s plan, sees that reality doesn’t revolve around him (but rather the fundamental reality of the HUMAN experience) and through a hissyfit.

This is all to say that the fundamental nature of Christian truth is the rejection of the ego. It is denial of the self for the greater glory of Love, your fellow man, your family, etc. etc.

God in His Glory came to earth and died in a humiliating fashion (by material standards ofc) and satan just can’t wrap his head around that because he’s an insane loser individualist wrapped up around his own ego.

The devil’s test was that revelation of God’s plan for the universe, saw how humbling that was, and sperged out. Like so many incels here and elsewhere that possess some certain sense of entitlement based on their mere existence, when they aren’t owed anything. By denying your own self and living by the simple rule of simply serving God, realizing how meaningless material reality is, looking through it at something greater, even if it makes you hungry, denies you sex, leaves you poor, or in satan’s case, just generally doesn’t glorify you as much as you’d like, is the fundamental Christian experience.

It’s why Saint Michael the Archangel, despite being less powerful than satan, defeated him. He trusted God, and represents submission to a noble cause greater in scope than his own existence.

I've only ever heard this interpretation from JW's. The Masonic Lightbringer makes far more sense to me and explains Lucifer being disliked much better. It also explains were the actual appeal to him is as well. Chalking it up as a legal case has always felt so bizarre to me.
