At this point the Saw and Fast and Furious franchises get a pass from me. They know what kind of movies they want to be and what the audience can expect without it being forced/self-parody or excessively over the top.

They're still within the realm of what could be considered acceptable for the series in my opinion. It rides the line of being outrageous without crossing into immersion-breaking territory. And with the Saw movies you can see the twist coming a mile away and such but it somehow doesn't detract from the experience.

Just like the trailer John is lied to by the supposed doctors and eventually the fraud surgeons are all chained in the room where they originally did the fake surgery. In the first game the fraud who pretended to draw John's blood had to use a gigli saw to cut her leg off before sucking out enough bone marrow to stop a wire from cutting her head off. After cutting her leg off the marrow extracts too slowly and she gets decapitated.
While John and Amanda are distracted the players gut the first girls corpse and use her guts to reach for a cellphone which the main scammer uses to call someone before she is tazed.
The next of the scammers is tested and he has to use a surgical drill to cut his head open and place his brain matter into a jar. He too fails to do it quick enough and gets his face cooked in a heated mask.
The game is interrupted when a previous customer of the medical scam shows up with a gun to the building. Amanda knocks him out and keeps him in the control room so he can watch the game with them.
In the next game the player is chained by her wrist and ankle and is raised into the path of a radiation machine which melts her skin. She needs to use a tool to break her wrist and ankle to free herself.
She succeeds but before John can test the last one (main scammer) the previous customer took his gun back and asked for the keys to release the main scammer. They take him to her and it's revealed that they were partners and it was him who she called for on her phone earlier. The two of them force John into the final trap along with an innocent local child who John earlier bonded with.
In this game John and the boy are being waterboarded with blood and either player can relieve the other player by pulling their own lever. John tells the kid not to pull his lever but after he sees John in the blood the kid pulls the lever for a short time before John pulls back and holds it, they both live.
While the game was going on the scammer couple headed to the control room to get their money back but are trapped when a bag they grab activates a timer which locks the doors. It's revealed that earlier John let her call for him on purpose to get her scammer partner into this game. Toxic air leaks in and there is only room for one person to use the breathing window. The scammer girl kills her scammer partner and survives with her head out the window as she watches John give her money to the local kid before they leave.
I left before the post credits because i didn't expect it to have one lol
I've only seen Saw 1, Jigsaw and Spiral in full and would say that it's much better than Jigsaw and Spiral. In terms of gore it was quite good but a lot of it was just out of frame which is slightly disappointing (but then again this might have just been the cut in my country)

I enjoyed him, Tobin did a lot better than I thought but you should still expect the standard saw writing and delivery. Amanda's not as good and she's distractingly old in comparison.
