How many times has this happened so far? When they want to show a female character is gay they pair them with a very stereotypical looking lesbian. I can think of Xochi from Victor and Valentino and Jackie from Star Vs. I get the feeling a lot of this is non lesbian straight guys just creating the idea of what a lesbian looks like and putting it in the show. When you look at the actual popular lesbian ships its usually stuff like Amity x Luz, Korra x Asami, Harley x Ivy etc which don't really follow this trend. Then again, all these are relationships with characters that are actually relevant instead of just existing for the purpose of establishing a character as gay.
