Whatever anyone thinks about the prequels, the Special Editions of the OT are travesties and his refusal to release decent editions of the original versions of the films is unforgivable.

The Special Editions don't get brought up enough anymore. You can just ignore the prequels if you want to, but locking away the original versions of the OT and refusing to remaster and re-release them is worthy of hatred on its own. This used to be the primary complaint against George and it's still completely valid and worse than anything else he did with Star Wars.
Its not just that he did this. Its also that he had been vocal for many years about film preservation and even testified and tried to get a law enacted regarding it or some such..
