It's not even in the top 100.
Elaborate
No I don't think I'll do that, now please frick off SHILL
rebels one, not the tPM
it's probably gay as frick. the only decent fight in star wars is the one with darth maul
>the only decent fight in star wars is the one with darth maul
The stupidity of prequel gays never ceases to amaze me. have a nice day
Anakin and Obi vs Dooku in Revenge of the Sith remains the best fight
tss tss, the only good Star Wars fight scene was anakin vs that bald b***h in the animated series
No
It was fricking dumb
You should like it since you have a lot in common with that scene then #rekt
no one is talking about it though
>rock bending in Star Wars is cool
Okay, take your meds.
Alright haters, how would you have written an Obiwan vs Vader fight?
Don't criticize it if you can't do it better
They are like children. They cannot accept that a shitty show had a spectacular and amazing duel that justified its existence
it looked like a freddie wong video, are you serious?
1) Physics don’t apply. Anything of substantial mass hitting a living being at a high velocity would kill it. Neither Obi Wan or Vader were affected.
2) Obi Wan is more powerful than we saw him in six movies, suddenly throwing enormous boulders at insane velocity
3) Obi Wan went from 0 to 100 after no training or even Force use for a decade
4) The mask broken, showing Anakin’s face, is completely derivative of the Ahsoka Vader fight in Rebels
5) The scene was way too dark
6) It makes no sense at all for Obi Wan to leave Vader alive.
It isn’t the worst scene in Star Wars, but it wasn’t good. This is just another instance of Disney trying to apply comic book rules to Star Wars, and it’s understandable that people don’t care for it.
That sums it up. The entire show is pointless, moronic, and creatively bankrupt.
I can't wait for some comic or novel to explain that AKKSCHUUALLY the rocks on that particular planet are very brittle and light because they're made of some porous mineral discovered in 320 BBY that's occassionaly used to make decorative statues, one of which was owned by Admiral Thrawn!
See it all makes sense!
obi wan doesn't win for one
>When I left you, I was but the learner, now I am the master.
Sorry, didn't go to film school.
What's their excuse?
You didn't go to valid response school either, it looks like. Did you even watch the show?
>valid response school
Such a place does not exist.
>Did you even watch the show?
I did. I didn't care for it but that's ok... it's non-canon soulless fanfic made by diversity hires who don't understand Star Wars.
except hes not a master in new hope, he is still an apprentice to the emperor, star wars has always been consistently shit
at least kylo ren didnt wait 30 years before killing snoke
I wouldn't. I would have introduced new villains unrelated to Vader and the empire, to allow Obi-wan to grow as a character on his own. And to make it more impactful when he finally goes up against Vader in A New Hope.
Say what you will, but Obi-Wan fighting Vader before ANH makes a lot sense given how Obi-Wan is barely surprised by Vader's appereance on Death Star and essentially dismisses him, even though that's his former friend turned into murdering cyborg.
Except no. The prequels already show how Obi-Wan knows of Darth Vader by name: when he sees Vader's initiation on the security recordings. And you have the Luceno Vader novel and others that rightfully show Vader as a semi-public figure who represented the might of the Empire. Obi-Wan would have heard of Vader in 18 years time no problem.
And before you cry "non-canon", remember that every piece of secondary media that contained "Star Wars" on the cover was either reviewed by Lucas himself or a higher-up at Lucasfilm/LucasArts for plot validity.
I agree with Obi-Wan knowing who Vader is, but seeing him in person, in armor and all, would still have a bigger impact if they didn't fight earlier
I really don't think so
He saw that Anakin was horribly burned all over his body, it would make sense that he'd be in some kind of life support suit years later
It's actually more meaningful without the Kenobi show, because Old Obi-wan doesn't need to see his face to know it's Anakin. He can sense it. It implies a greater connection.
I can't believe we've gotten to the point where people are defending Disney's hamfisted 2 rematches that never needed to happen because "well Old Ben needed to know what Anakin's suit looked like"
I mean come the frick on
Also not a single soul has yet been able to explain to me why Obi-wan left Vader alive, when he states plainly earlier that he intends to kill him or die trying and leaving Vader alive is nothing but a net negative at this point.
>ummm he felt bad about what he did to Anakin
No. He accepts that Anakin is truly dead and only Vader remains. There is no reason he would not have killed him, to keep Luke and Leia safe.
Leaving him alive makes no sense
the whole show was stupid and pointless
>show Vader as a semi-public figure who represented the might of the Empire.
They should have done that in the Obi-Wan series instead; just scenes with him looking at holo-posters of Vader and hearing about him or looking at recordings of speeches.
>Obi-Wan is barely surprised by Vader's appereance on Death Star
Isn't that because he could feel his presence there beforehand, with the force? And I thought his calm demeanor was because he'd grown more powerful with the light side of the force.
Make a damaged and deranged Mace Windu the villian. He wants to kill Luke.
Could be based.
My idea for a Windu show is to have him having been in a coma ever since he fell out the window
So he wakes up fool of anger and vengeance but he's in Old Sam Jackson's old busted up body and doesn't have the power needed anymore
Make him flirt with the dark side since it's the only thing that might let him stop Sheev
make him frustrated and angry about his condition and the condition of the galaxy so Jackson can actually yell and emote and raise his voice
>bring back more old characters
ISHYGDDT
How about they don't fricking meet or fight in the first place. Have Obs fight and kill Darth Laqueesha, no Leia either. Vader appears once to give orders to Grand Inquisitor then fricks off.
Why do you even bother talk to haters. They just want to hate to feel like they are better. In the end we are all just stupid meatbags trapped on earth. Ruled by people who want to kill us and yet we still follow their orders.
Obi-Wan doesn't just beat down and overpower Vader. He either escapes or if he HAS to win, he does it with outside help. Letting Obi-Wan just stomp Vader makes Luke completely pointless.
It would have been fine if they showed Obi-Wan experience one ounce of fricking regret for not killing Vader in the final episode. Hell, I would have taken a delayed "Oh I think I forgot to do something important" as he's flying away. But no. We just have to ignore his stupidity or chalk it up to cowardice
Sparing Vader is the most moronic shit possible. This guy is planning on training Vader's son to kill Vader, but he won't do it himself. What the frick were they thinking?
Murder is not the jedi way. In all movies they may slice droids up, cut dudes arms off, or leave someone completely disfigured that killing them might be the more humane option but they never kill for that is what completes their turn to the dark side.
>but they never kill for that is what completes their turn to the dark side.
Does that mean Mace Windu was attracted to the dark side of the force?
To justify this insane theory, the EU morons would have you believe yes.
>Murder is not the jedi way.
"DESTROY THE SITH WE MUST"
>Send me to kill the Emperor
That is a fricking lie. Jedi will straight up kill a fricker if you give them no other choice. Obi-wan killed maul and grievous in the prequels, Windu killed Jango Fett and the clone troopers Yoda beheaded on Kashyyyk.
Almost like he knows Anakin can be redeemed... You psycho
Almost like Ben Kenobi didn't believe that and did his best to convince Luke to kill Vader, you moron.
Obi-Wan goes to kill the emperor on coruscant but unexpectedly runs into Vader instead, beats him but is shaken to learn who he is, then retreats to Tatooine to live in hiding
as if he cant feel the same evil anakin presence that he felt during their first fight.
also why doesnt obiwan kill his ennemies? Is it because if you kill your ennemy, they win?
Darth Vader should never have been in a show about Obi-Wan's years between III and IV.
Obi-Wan is not that powerful. Also the space chase special effect were atrocious.
This though, even the show establishes Anakin was always more powerful and Obi-Wan had to rely on his experience, but the final fight is pretty one-sided after Obi-Wan gets from under the rubble
>even the show establishes Anakin was always more powerful and Obi-Wan had to rely on his experience
that's shown in the prequels you fricking moron. you know 'i have the high ground' shit? you start wars gays are insufferable
>p-please drip feed me more lore and confirmation so i don't have to think for myself
And yet Obi-Wan still simply overpowers Vader in the show without employing any tactics
ok? who cares? this shit is like 15-50 years old
nice quads though gaylord
Anakin/Vader is temperamental and when he falters emotionally he gets btfo. Usually he steamrolls your typical Jedi scum but he has a mental block when it comes to his old master. Vader conquers this in ANH. It makes sense because Lucas made sure it made sense in Ep.3.
Disney had to make Obi-Wan the victor. Vader had to lose in one way or another in order to make his victory in ANH logical. But it still WEAKENS the poetic nature of the original canon with all these shitty mid-points added in later. We learn in ESB and ROTJ that Vader is in fact, not a fricking master to begin with. The Emperor exists. So there's no real difference in Vader's status as a master between "Obi-Wan" and ANH.
>Now I am the master
>See? There's no rocks around here for you to throw
>I have also engaged you in a completely level hallway where I automatically have the high ground by virtue of my superior height
He truly did his homework
>Vader conquers this in ANH.
No, he doesn't. Vader and Ben look even until Kenobi decides to kys to save Luke.
Eh, the way I always interpreted their ANH fight is that Obi-wan was starting to lose ground at the end
>Vader conquers this in ANH
Have I understood it all wrong this time but didn't Obi-Wan willingly join the force during the fight? Which to my knowledge no other jedi has done?
Yeah, that's the gist of it. It's not certain if he always planned to throw the fight, he probably was trying to win, but he had that move in his back pocket from the start hence the taunt about "if you strike me down.."
He's getting backed into a corner by Vader towards the end, and sees Luke and Leia finally got to their ship. The tractor beam is off, so he knows they can escape. But not if they stick around and wait for him.
So he peaces out and leaves it up to Luke
That's always been my interpretation. It's kind of the ultimate frick you move against Anakin and Palpatine, since Palpatine was obsessed about achieving immortality and which is why he also seduced Anakin to join the Dark Side.
Obi-Wan achieved immortality by embracing the light side of the Force. Has this ever been addressed canonically or non-canonically? Did Vader realize what Obi-Wan did? Or did he just assume he beat Obi-Wan?
>Did Vader realize what Obi-Wan did?
I don't think so. Maybe it's been addressed in some of the nu-canon Vader comics or books, but in TCW and 1-6 he basically just assumes he beat him, I guess.
I always liked that shot where he steps on Obi-wan's robe. It looks like he's thinking "what the frick is this about?"
>even the show establishes Anakin was always more powerful and Obi-Wan
A New Hope shows Obi Wan basically fricking with Vader, almost like Vegeta trying to tell Goku he's strong and has been training at 200x gravity
Obi Wan lets Vader kill him because he knows it'll make Luke more powerful
That’s the thing. It was always stated in canon that Obi-Wan was very average in terms of force potential/ power. He was only about 40% as powerful as Anakin. So, if Obi-Wan was to win against Vader it should have been like their first duel - where he doesn’t really “win” so much as take advantage of Anakin’s mistake or character defect.
>They are like children. They cannot accept that a shitty show had a spectacular and amazing duel that justified its existence
Your standards are low and you are illiterate in storytelling.
Bait.
fight was shite. obi-wan's 'win' wasnt earned at all.
Agreed. Best duel in Star Wars.
I'm going to take a shuttle from this ship to go to a small planet where Vader just happens to be waiting to take down Vader once and for all and then leave. I thought shows were good at coming with excuses for setting these kinds of situations up.
Vader wasn't waiting, he chased Obi-wan there, so it makes even less sense because Vader says
>Did you come here to kill me?
I'll say this: next time you consuming shit ask for the second portion so it will keep your mouth shut for longer.
The fight itself wasn't bad.
What I really fricking liked was the dialogue after. Both Hayden and Ewan gave a 10/10 performance. Vader barely standing, the labored wheezes, the voice modulator going back and forth between the two voices. You just FEEL bad for him. And Ewan's face man. The voice crack when he apologizes. The fact that it almost seems like they're having a genuine conversation but Vader just goes back to hate mode. So much raw emotion between both of those guys. It honestly felt more tragic than the immolation scene for me. Instantly a favorite SW moment.
Chinks pop out shit with better fights for cable that mogs this garbage on a daily basis. I think at this point we just need to wait for the death of Hollywood. Shit's so boring now it's insane.
Frick off, mouse. It was stupid and pointless, and went against "when I last saw you I was the student, and now I am the master."
So now it's "when I last saw you, you kicked my ass again, so I got all emo about how I killed Anakin myself."
Obi-Wan didn’t kick his ass the first time, though. Anakin was clearly dominating that duel. And then Anakin tried a move that was so silly that even Obi-Wan took the time away from fighting for his life to comment on its insane stupidity.
Having Obi-Wan win this fight in this way was so fricking silly. But who honestly cares about Star Wars at this point? The person in charge hates Star Wars, hates Luke, and hates the fans and wants everything to revolve around Rey Palpatine - a character that literally EVERYONE hates. It’s a dead franchise
yeah I too love shaky cam and awful lighting; shill frick
Why was it so fricking dark? Not just this scene, but the show as a whole. I thought something was wrong with my TV's settings.
I just want someone in charge of the franchise who actually likes it and respects it and all it’s quirks and it’s lore, etc. Right now, we have someone in charge who views Star Wars as a mere delivery device for her narrow band of corporate wokism. There’s nothing wrong with diversity but it shouldn’t be your entire raison d’etre. And under this regime, it is.
Why does DisneyWars think using the force to lift rocks is so cool
This series is aimed at prequel fans, a group who think rock-throwing is epic because it happened in AOTC.
>trying to redeem 5 hours of garbage by jizzing fanservice all over my face
nah not falling for it anymore
this fricking "show" is pathetic and this franchise needs to be put to death
People won't stop living in the hope that Star Wars will be good again someday. Disney won't stop exploiting that hope. The corporation will still be churning out bad Star Wars product long after we are all dead.
thats such a fricked up thing.
star wars died after episodes 1-6 and some games (jedi knight series was completely fine)
now it looks like a rotten corpse being raped by disney
Growing up, Star Wars was a source of joy for me
It still is, I just enjoy hating it now
I think there is always a chance it could be compelling again. There are 35 years of the New Republic Era with thousands of stories to tell, Luke’s Jedi Order could be (and seemingly has recently been) expanded greatly and aligned with his Legends Timeline version. The lore should be greatly expanded and the deep mystery should return. However none of this will occur under the Kennedy administration. She hates this franchise and wants to bend it to her will. And every time she does it the heat just blows back on her
It's hard to get excited about Luke's Order when we know what happened to it
It was dumb having him win again but I don't consider it canon and I love Obi-Wan so watching him absolutely body Vader in that way was very satisfying.
It was pure dogshit. Embarrassing for everyone involved
Why did he suddenly get massive Force powers? Why he didn't do the same trick on the Death Star and flinged all the wall panels and shit at Vader?
He shouldn't have been able to
but in the logic of the show, it's because he had a "moment of clarity" or wherever where he was just in the zone and fully believed in himself
Disney seems to be leaning heavily on Yoda's one line about
>That is why you fail
As in, Luke couldn't lift the X-wing because he just didn't believe he could. But if you just THINK you can do it, apparently you can do fricking anything with the force in Disney Wars.
I'm not kidding, some supplemental material basically says party of the reason Rey was able to do her insane feats is because she was TOO NAIVE TO KNOW SHE SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO
>It's over, Vader, I have the high ground yet again.
I clapped when he said that
>tfw Obi couldn't just defeat Darth Vader in A New Hope by sacrificing himself for the greater good, both ending Vader's desire for revenge and pushing Luke into the hero role
>Now he has a badass video game fight where he thinks about children and flips around and fricking wrecks Vader's face up
>people want this
Piss off.
Ep1 obi fight.
Ep 2 obi vs jango fett
Ep5 vader vs luke
Ep 6 vader vs luke and redemption
That's it.
>Boulder thrown at jedi
>jedi blocks it with lightsaber
>the rock explodes into tiny chunks instead of being sliced in half
It's baffling to me, is this because the prop sabers bounce off the foam prop boulders and thus they couldn't convincingly CGI a slice?
>shaking cam making the whole scene amateurish and cheap looking
>fricked up power levels that throw through the window the feel of immersion
Its garbage fight and if you even remotely think its good, then you are a tasteless idiot.
tortanic-tier
Bait. Frick u
