The marooned crew were on the surface barely a few months (if that) and they integrated themselves with the flora/fauna so well they could have been mistaken for natives (at first I thought maybe the crew was trained for such a situation and harsh planets like that were not uncommon, but as I watched it didn't seem like that was the case). Until of course became inconvenient for the plot and suddenly the planet could kill them at any moment.

Weird. As far as I could tell only 1 of the characters wasn't straight (pictured in your image), and one other is literally a robot with no sexuality at all. The other three are shown to be absolutely straight.
If you enjoy atmosphere, ambience and nice visuals it's very good. The sound mixing/design (whatever you call it) is amazing if you have a good sound system, so is the soundtrack.
Its weakness is probably the characters as said. They don't tend to have any urgency and are way too passive to what is an obvious danger. But I think they are just a vehicle for the atmosphere and visuals of the show.

I watched them both back to back and both the music and the editing switching between different POVs every 20 seconds in scavengers reign are really annoying.
The characters in scavengers reign also kind of suck and the "bro pull this fruit and it turns in to a balloon" variations start to get silly after a while. Its good that the show explores possible alien ecosystems based on our own ecosystems rather than the writers coming up with random bullshit like they normally do but it could have been done better.
Also yeah i forgot about kris, here character was incredibly gay and annoying as well. Is she supposed to be a troony? I got the feeling she was. Her whole little group were annoying tbh and the weird drama where she absolutely refused to wake anyone up for no reason made no sense. She had nothing to lose by doing that
