I don't it's that sad to be honest, take the clock back around 100 years, kids were dying of polio at 8, those that weren't dying of it died at 20 after spending their entire adolescence working in a coal mine or factory. Take the clock back 2000 years and men would be enslaved, they would have their wieners and their tongues cut off and they still lived. So is it really that bad?
It's not "bad", per se... it's just entirely wasteful, in my view. We each have the ability to do great things, some more than others. The fact that these digital nightmares (tv, internet, etc.) actively dissuade people from doing important, fulfilling, and meaningful things is just kind of sad and disheartening.
I grew up in a small village in a third world country, and not everyone there lived a picture perfect romanticized trad life, there were losers there too, but instead of tv and internet they spent their entire time gambling, drinking and playing shitty card games and harassing women and children on the street. By all definitions everyone viewed them as losers, so I don't think your type of thought that "everyone can live a happy trad life with wife and kids if there's was no internet and tv" is true.
That's not my point. TV and internet serve a number of purposes. The choice that people seem to me making is that there is almost nothing else. Everything else is basically phoned in or done "through the motions" so that they can more quickly resume their staring at the screen. I wish those things could be enjoyed by us normies in moderation, and in a way that didn't completely destroy any sense of ambition, fulfillment, and creativity.

Good luck to you, when i moved out at 26 i felt immediately lonely, guilty for leaving, and lost. A few weeks later while keeping up all other aspects of my routine (gym, guitar practise), i felt very empowered and proud of myself for getting over that hurdle. I would never voluntarily go back to living with my parents, though I do love them and see them every sunday for dinner. Unfortunately growth seems to be synonymous with (sometimes extreme) discomfort and fear, but it makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint.

I wasted several YEARS browsing the same boards, reading the same posts, playing the same 2 online games, rewatching the same tv shows, eating the same pre-made food. once in a blue moon I will feel adventurous and watch a movie, binge watch a new tv show, play a singleplayer game or cook a new meal
it's insanely depressing to me that I wasted my best years like that and barely got to experience anything life offers. now I also started to feel like shit physically and idk if improving my diet and exercise will undo this.
i feel almost allergic to effort and risk. watching a new movie, reading a book, sitting down and trying to draw, trying to cook a new meal... feels terrifying
after so many years of living like this change feels almost impossible. but I have to change. I feel like I'm wasting the opportunity of living in the most technologically advanced times.

Unless you're over 50 it's never too late to start eating right and working out. Just start small with one push up. then the next day do two pushups and keep continuing until you feel comfortable doing 10 pushups a day. You'll get hooked on the high that comes from physical exercise and start doing different exercises until you're built. I guarantee you'll feel better you just have to put in the effort.

I can tell you have never once lifted a weight. The endorphins that run through your system when working out is the best high on the planet and I've taken ecstasy. Once you start working out you realize how good it feels and how much better your mood is general that it does start becoming something you do for yourself.
When my parents became ill it was like a shot to the system. I had to start leaving the house. I had to start cooking. I had to start trying to care for them. I had to take them to appointments and things on the bus or taxi.
So crushing fear and desperation will drive you outside your comfort zone I would say. And perhaps if you don't have that, know that it is coming round the bend, and you will need to anticipate its arrival.

Overcoming inertia is easy. Physically move yourself from point A to point B. Apply for something, whatever. Be it a job or a hobby. Make an appointment with another person and then make the commitment to be there. The ball gets rolling from there.
I'm allergic to risk and effort as well, and it doesn't better with aging. But I was lucky enough to learn early on that it's as easy to make an appointment. I booked a plane from point A to B. And it changed my life. Everything just kinda followed from there. I'm still averse to risk, but you just put yourself into a situation and then discover how you deal with it. For better or worse, it can backfire.
