I strongly suspect 90% of billionaires (and richer) benefit profoundly from staying out of the public eye. Elon did a great job of staying on the fringes, being that weird guy who invests in spaceships and flamethrowers, and everyone *thought* was super smart. Then he really got into the public eye, and we all saw how limited his intellect actually was.

When some controversial stories spread about Lizzo, her streaming numbers plummeted immediately and her career was over that very day.
Something similar should have happened to Elon Musk too, but looking at sales of his products, the public's opinion of him has become better than ever. (That might very well be possible)

He's lucky enough that people still distinguish him from what he sells, for the most part. Also I believe not as many people as we think are actually realising what kind of schizo he is.

This, Lizzo is her own product so there isn't a hard separation there like there is with an auto company CEO and the physical product their company makes. Public opinion is more of a factor for him with Twitter since he goes out of his way to put himself out there on the site, it's not like you scroll past a picture of Musk's face while you're typing into a Tesla's GPS.

Or maybe, normal people just don't give a shit what he says on Twitter.

That was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word 'doublethink' involved the use of doublethink."

Elon Musk is a rocket scientist, although by his admission not an elite one
He personally built the Falcon 1, which failed to reach orbit three times but its fourth and final mission proved SpaceX just viable enough to attract actual investors and allow him to hire actual rocket designers

It's comparable to how Henry Ford briefly built steam carriages in his backyard and Bill Gates briefly typed up DOS emulators by hand before they started succeeding enough to hire and manage other people to do it for them

How many German nationals did the Nazis end up exterminating?

Not nearly comparable since 95% of "German" prosecutions were israeli-german nationals. Germany killed very little Germans just a lot of other non Germans unfortunately. The same cannot be said for the Soviets, they swung both ways.

Very few. Most of them were corrupt nobles, clergy, or enemies of people that actively hated the USSR.

Do they have to be? The Ussr was supposed to be a collective of nations rather then just a russian dominion. In Germanys excuse israelites weren't necessarily seen as German while soviet citizens traitors as they may have been considered were still a part of the union.

Do you believe Germany would really give citizenship to those they planned on genociding?
                >They most certainly did not view nobles, clergy, and kulaks as soviet citizens.
I suppose you're right, the soviet system was very unwieldy and uncooperative within itself top to bottom of the social/economic ladder which is why it was rife with conflict, purges, manufactured famine and traitors numbering hundreds of thousands defecting to Germany despite Germany having the reputation of wanting to genocide them. That's how bad cooperation was in the early/mid 20th century soviet system so I can see why the nobility, clergy and landowning peasants were just discounted for the soviet unions failures in finding national unity. One thing Germany managed successfully which I guess would explain their low number of inter ethnic conflict was class/social unity which explains how no Germans defected to fight against their state despite losing.

The U.S. showed how enlightenment ideals could make a successful government despite being coastal colonies on a largely undeveloped continent, and everyone started adapting our system.

Who exactly are the superior people being held back by Musk? NASA couldn’t get its own astronauts into space since the 2000s because its engineers had no direction and were hampered by bureaucracy. Musk just applied the Silicon Valley formula of fast iteration and they went from some pipe dream startup to the most profitable and reliable space launch platform in history. Would you have been so vitriolic towards Ford for applying basic concepts to his motor company?

Almost every time he starts talking about anything related to science and technology authoratatively in public he gets btfo by actual scientists and engineers (sometimes his own employees). There's a lot of commercial value in the solar system. Obviously, going to other stars is far-fetched, probably not going to happen. It could be humanity is doomed to spend it's entire existence tethered to Sol.
However, we need more space; Mars has that. The other planets and their moons may too. Mars is unique in that it's right fricking there, and it's Earthlike enough that it's not super hard to survive on the surface. All you need is some atmosphere. Mars has water, Mars has dirt (that can be turned into soil), Mars has gravity. It also has a shitload of craters that can be dug into, or perhaps even covered to create shelter (and bubbles for atmosphere).
Eventually we will want to colonize another planet, there are many reasons to do it, including guarding against an existential planet crisis. It's also a good reason to build up infrastructure.
We will eventually want the rare minerals that are expected to be found in abundance in our solar system.
tl;dr we will go to space if we survive long enough and don't regress as a society to serfdom.

Malthusians are just defeatists. An expanding human population is a good thing, for the species and the individual. If you need a million people to produce a Mozart, then it's preferable to have a population where you get 8000 Mozarts.

That said, there's no reason you and a bunch of people that look like you can't go to Mars and make a home there, and practice ethnic purity. I think it's a noble goal. Or do it here. You just gotta persuade people to live in a bubble.

The eugenics aspect is really secondary to my true desire of not covering any more of this planet with our concrete filth. I think it’s an ultimate failing of humanity that we haven’t devised a way to have our cake and eat it too, by having a high tech futurist society while essentially not harming the natural ecosystem of the planetary biosphere at all. This is why I think we need to go full bore into asteroid mining and transferring essentially all industry and large scale agriculture into space. I’m talking hyper efficient hydroponics O’Neill cylinders at the Lagrange points, towing the asteroid 16 psyche into orbit for essentially unlimited iron, nickel, gold, etc. Turn earth into a garden paradise world with no loss of quality of life.

That’s all well and good, except there is literally nowhere else to go. Earth is a priceless israeliteel that must be protected at all costs to ensure the future of the species as a whole, period. The earth is more valuable to humanity than any ideology, than the concept of ideology itself. I have a degree in physics and astronomy, I’ve spent a lot of time familiarizing myself with the specifics of terraforming mars, and there are so many huge issues with it that we can’t leave this up to chance. Realistically we are thousands of years, at least, away from a Martian surface you could walk around on unprotected. Either way, Venus is a much more attractive terraformation target in the ultra long term.

That will come regardless of what we do. No matter what political or social system we operate on, industry will be eventually start moving into space. It is inevitable, the opportunities are too great. This means, at some point in the future, humanity is going to have to reckon with the fact that its space based elements would have the physical capability of doing that. It’s impossible to prevent it without a totalitarian world government. Therefore, we need to evolve past the need for communist space unions, for capitalist space corporations, all of it. Hence the eugenics.

        >Space is unironically a investment scam using the promise of Mars as a pitch point.
Nah SpaceX turns a very tidy profit by launching sattelites and being NASA's only functional ride to space. The mars stuff is just Elon's personal obsession.

No they aren't. Even if you factor out the purely scientific missions, you are still left with a shit ton of orbital infrastructure and materials science that the US is dependent on every day.

space x is basically a publicly funded company and between them and Tesla subsidies Elon musk is the most subsidized welfare queen on earth, while right wingers vote to end more social programs and for privatized healthcare despite taking home 20-40k each year.

That's why you have to censor every place you infest all to hell. Because most people hate your fricking guts.

You're even worse, you're that jackass moron anon that feels the need to give his hot take on a subject just to pretend you are smarter, even when the claim is not fricking true.

You got that anon? The claim is fricking false, so your post is invalidated by that.
Why do you say people who call out groomers don't care...because they aren't calling out Musk for banning that on their platform?
Why do you say 9/10 people complaining about groomers want child brides back?

Is it because your a homosexual anon that is wrong but feels the need to say something?

You deserve a fricking punch in the face you homosexual. Your post SHOULD BE A BANNABLE offense to improve discussion on this board.

      >Why do you say people who call out groomers don't care...because they aren't calling out Musk for banning that on their platform?
Because it shows they are massive hypocrites who don't actually believe in anything.

      >Why do you say 9/10 people complaining about groomers want child brides back?
Because that is the nature of their ideology. Not only have they defended child brides in the past, they are currently still doing everything in their power to support that cause.
