> another planet city is a successor to an earth city
> new at the start
I prefer when they put "new" in front of old city. New London, New Madrid, New Los Angeles, etc.
New York, New Orleans, New Jersey
>hero has to visit the remnants of Old New Jersey
stop posting Futurama jokes
>New New York
>sci-fi kino
>planet names have numbers in them, (yavin IV) or are called Prime (Giedi Prime)
Yavin IV is a moon, one of planet yavin's several natural satellites.

Well, it IS called science FICTION for a reason.
Even old New York, was once New Amsterdam.
Why they changed it I can't say, people just liked it better that way.
so, take me back to Constantinople
No, you can't go back to Constantinople
>NeoTokyo
>new "african city"
kino
based
name one example that isn't New Mombasa
NuYokyo city
>sci fi film
>earth’s sun is called Saul
>sci-fi movie
>entire planet is the same biome
hate this shit
Why? Single-biome planet is a kino trope and it's not even inaccurate to real planets that aren't Earth. Take Mars as an example, it's a cold desert from north to south with almost no latitudinal variations.
>sci-fi dystopia movie
>planets capital city has mega at the starts of it's name
>sci-fi movie
>city is called Babylon

ESL?
They should do an female remake of the Martian called the Martianette, and because in the first one Damon "colonized" the Mars, in the sequel they have to go bigger and better, and thus Kristen Bell (my go to first pick for lead) in the sequel now founds the first city on Mars. It's called Veronica, Mars
>everybody can breathe on any planet except for one race of aliens that need their suit on everywhere (even their own atmosphere)

>sci-fi movie

I use to think a movie future city place was called "Neo" because it had lots of neon lights
>”How do I stop them?”
>”You don’t”
How many fricking Neo Tokyos are there in media anyway? IIRC NGE and Akira both have reached Neo Tokyo 3.
>scifi movie
>there are space rest stops with space burger kings
When I was a wee tyke the McDonald’s near my house had little prints on the wall of hypothetical McDonald’s (a McDonald’s at sea, a prehistoric McDonald’s, etc.). I always demanded to sit under the print with space McDonald’s.
wholesome and heartwarming
Not just cities. Terra Nova (new earth) is pretty common in sci fi.
>Neo Rio de Janeiro
>Everyone is an off-duty cop
Neo Terra Nova
>every planet has a single uniform biome
>every planet has 1, maybe max 2 important cities
>every planet has the same gravity, length of day, length of year, and atmosphere
The entirety of star wars could take place on one planet and it wouldn't have made a damn lick of difference
Single biome planets is a kino trope
That's kino though, if you're implying that it's not.
>movie takes place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away
>many of the characters are humans who speak english and have accents from countries on earth
>many of the characters are humans who speak english
It's not English in Star Wars though, it's Galactic Basic. However, in the Japanese dub of Star Wars (for example), Galactic Basic is identical to the Japanese language. So it just depends on the language.
>and have accents from countries on earth
Have you ever invented an accent? Not easy.
it's English. source: I speak English.
>Have you ever invented an accent? Not easy.
>Wahhhhhhh creativity is haaaaaard just accept the slop I feed you I deseeeeerve it
>it's English.
Nope, Galactic Basic.
>Dystopian movie
>cities named after Zion, Babylon and other OT shit
