Gen X writer and director
Both Gen X and Millenials are cringe.
Only Gen Z and the Greatest Gen are based.
Gen z is only "great" at TikTok and trooning out.
Millennials are the generation where troons became widespread, thoughbeit
agreed
>Boomers, Millennials, and Zoomers
absolute cringe
>Greatest, Forgotten, X
based and cool
t. Millennial
Just a theory and I'm not sure where else to put it, but do you find people who constantly talking "This generation is this" or "This generation is that" tend to be more on the lower IQ/Low rent end of ideas?
well ya. People with low IQs tend to group things into overly simplified boxes
>comics have an entire arc of redemption for Scott that goes from him being a stupid butthole to confronting his inner demons
>anime just erases all this to explore ramona and other minor characters
What was that canadian homosexual thinking?
it gave the story more room to explore the exes. except for the twins, who kinda got the shaft again
Every girl after the movie came out was trying to emulate her look. Problem is Ramona is a horrible person(because she's still growing and learning) and also a horrible girlfriend (because people learn from mistakes). People project that personality on girls emulating the look and boom meme born.
Which is why the show sucks. It tries to make her look like a victim of Scott's growing pains with his relationships when the comic already established that she was guilty of doing the same thing.
I never saw a single woman IRL with her look. You must be talking about cosplay egirls or something.
It was just a trope pushed by Hollywood to sell other shows like new girl. I lived through that time and it had almost zero cultural impact on the general public of girls.
Nobody in New Girl acts like anyone in Scott Pilgrim
That's not the point, the point is it was them trying to sell another "manic pixie dream girl".
Manic Pixie Dreamgirls are bubbly and cute. Was knives really that popular?
do you not know what scene girls were?
In middle school maybe. That shit was over by the time this film came out.
>I still don't understand the "ruined an entire generation of women"meme.
People say that because Ramona resembles a stereotypical mentally ill "alt/scene girl" and the joke song making fun of those types of girls.
Scott Pilgrim never struck me as anything that big, even during its prime, beyond a handful of dedicated fans and people who want to frick the girls.
Now, if you really want to find what really ruined an entire generation of women (and by extension, millennials in general) then let me tell you about Homestuck
>Read the comic, watched movie, beat the game like 10 years ago in high school
>fast foward to now
>Not very interested in it, don't want to watch media about some guy being a loser with gay game references
>Give the show a chance
>End up really liking it and seeing it as a proper sequal.
>All the side characters get actual personality and their own shit to
>There's more depth than just "HURR WE GOTTA FIGHT THE NEXT EX BRO"
>Actual funny moments
>Nice moments of character growth and displays of maturity
I liked it. I know you guys are gonna hate it becuase it's not the same shit again or it's not a straight up power fantasy of guy gets girl
It fits too nicely into the nooticers "kill off the white man and replace him with a woman" perception.
That is true, for culture war guys I can complete see why they're like that. I like the messages it has of life moving on with or without you though. Even in the original Scott pretty much fricked off to fight the exes. He pretty much neglected sex bob-omb and everyone else pretty much stopped existing.
>I still don't understand the "ruined an entire generation of women"meme.
if you just watch the movie ramona is a wiener hungry bawd with nothing else going for her. In the book she is shown to be a lot nicer and affectionate to scott, but also michael cera was a terrible fricking choice to play scott because scott is clearly supposed to be a pretty boy based on the girls he attracts and how shitty of a person he is
God I love wiener hungry bawds ngl
>scott is clearly supposed to be a pretty boy based on the girls he attracts and how shitty of a person he is
Also he's not a mealy-mouthed dweeb. If anything he has too much misplaced confidence
SCOTTY DOESN'T KNOW
Gordon Goose is the average Cinemaphile poster.
