Let's assume you were talented enough and the plenty of resources, let's say a $200 million budget. Who do you cast as Wonka? Even Johnny Depp, who was once a really good actor, couldn't pull it off.

Society needs to start encouraging people to just rewatch old movies more, because most consumers just watch new shit and aren’t conditioned to habitually watch old things. Hope this strike lasts years and Hollywood collapses; there’s more than enough good film content out there to last all of us several lifetimes. It’s all so tiring.
