I tried rewatching robot chicken a while ago it really was just aggressively unfunny, couldn't even finish
ATHF is so much better it's unreal, barring plantasm and the new season

I found the humor really lacking. It reminded me a lot more of newer squidbillies, which is pretty weird as squidbillies was pretty damn good in even its later seasons (I stopped at the first tracey morgan ep). The new animation was also really offputtting to me, especially int the new season. Doesn't look or sound like ATHF anymore, really disappointing.
The weird thing is that the shorts they put out before hand were just as good as the old eps.
Remember when ATHF stole their own joke of convincing Shake that something nightmarishly awful is actually good? That gave me the second Squidward. Robot Chicken has had jokes that blew me away. However, I will say ATHF hits higher highs in comedy but can't touch Robot Chicken's animation when they want to be good.
Although my issue with Robot Chicken was that they would have jokes that are funny on the page but Seth Green or Breckin Meyer would kill them dead with lame delivery. Although the jokes for college kids got better when it went from middle aged men writing party jokes to 20 somethings writing party jokes. Because those middle aged men worked for magazines dedicated to comics and toys, do you think they had extensive party knowledge to begin with?
Only because it’s like the one skit that isn’t based on a character from pop culture or made for shock value with gore or rape, it’s just an absurd concept taken to an extreme.
The Star Wars stuff worked for this too, Palpatine freaking out over the Death Star is still funny. They CAN do better but unlike Aqua Teen, especially early one, being 80 percent verbal quip humor with it being punctuated by violence, Robot Chicken relies on it. Global Grilling doesn’t have any violence until the end and it’s damn funny.

The only Robot Chicken gag I can remember off the top of my head. This show relied on "characters from your childhood, but getting ripped apart and dying horribly!" way too much.
Meanwhile, ATHF has tons of memorable scenes, quotes, and memes. Even if you haven't seen the entire series you're bound to recognize several whenever you see them. It was hands-down the more impactful series.
It’s 2 completely different humor styles so it’s almost completely incomparable

Was robot chicken ever good? The only joke I remember laughing at was the gummy bear one, and that was because I was twelve
I thought robot chicken was hot shit as a teen but looking back alot of it was straight up crap
I find half the stuff in Robot Chicken to be funny. It's really hit or miss for me.
