I loved season 1. I hate this new season. I hate the cast, the house, and the camera setups (fish are always out of the shot). I know they worked really hard preparing the house, but the season 1 house provided a more enjoyable viewing experience imo. Simple is better. And why did they get rid of "Jason Goldstriker" and fishbucks? And why did they cast so many boring bland normies? Not only are the cameras setup better with the old house but it was a better environment. 70s aesthetic is comfy but the show isn't really meant to be comfy. So, I've been watching Season 2 pretty much non-stop since it started. Took time off work, made myself comfortable (my battlestation is fricking mint rn). I was really looking forward to what Fishtank S2 had in store.
But right now, I'm a fricking mess.
I was there for Season 1. The highs, the lows, the god awful tech issues that are, for the most part, gone. I was there when s*mmons was exposed. I was there when Jon left the tank. I cried. I had a breakdown. I recovered. I got better. I was there when everything when absolutely batsh*t f*cking insane. I was there when Josie took home the victory. I was cheering with the rest of the Fishtank audience. Watching the entirety of Season 1 live, I can confidently say that I've seen some messed up shit.
The magic isn't there anymore, and I don't know what to do.
I feel like all the money I've put into this, all the hours, my emotional investment...I'm losing sight of why I'm still watching. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the new contestants, and the house... Jet and Nick hit it out of the fricking park! But what made Season 1 great just isn't there. That spark of genius... I feel ill typing this out.
I'm tired. We all are. Maybe things will turn around. I don't know. The unknown is scary, but I'll keep fighting. I'll keep going. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
