Season 3 of Fargo was so fricking annoying. That ending was not artistic it was just lazy.

I liked season 1 when I watched it on tv. It’s definitely fricking great compared to season 2 or 3.

No, it sucks. The pilot was bad but I watched the second ep out of fairness, and then I had to sit through the scenes with the deaf sign-language hitman duo. So moronic.

In my opinion season 1 is worth watching even if it’s just for Thornton’s character.

Season 1 also has the least amount of supernatural frickery at least compared to seasons 2 and 3. In season 1 it’s all just implied but never really said outright, but 2 and 3 both have deus ex machina moments where important characters are literally saved by some supernatural nonsense that pops up and is then never spoken of again.

I guess you’re forgetting about all the moments where Billy Bob teleports out of danger because the plot requires him to

That was strange but not anywhere near as blatant as the UFO or god in the limbo bowling alley. Like you still could’ve thought that maybe he just managed to sneak out somehow. Same with the line about the Garden of Eden which could’ve been chalked up to him saying something just to mess with people as he always did. But after watching seasons 2 and 3 it is clear that they fully intended for Malvo to be the devil.

Season 3 is the worst one. The non ending always pisses me off. Just frick right off with it. You spent almost 10 hours on this shit you deserve a fricking explanation for how it finishes.

Not to mention the other shit that was just never concluded like whatever happened with the cossack in the bowling alley. Swango’s death was fricking stupid too. Like it saved Emmitt only for him to be killed in a lazy way five minutes later.

It is a moronic mystery of will he or won't he get away.
Except we know he is being held for the murder the deaf guy did.
So he is innocent and the evidence won't show he did it.
      There isn't even a mystery.

He was being held for felony tax evasion and conspiracy to commit multiple murders based on the elevator camera photo they had of him at the scene where all those bodies were found. It had nothing to do with the murder the deaf guy did. That was just something the cop asked him about.

It's about a Black vs Italian mob war. It's surprising they mention the israeli Mafia though.

What is up with Noah whatever his last name is obsession with mouths and teeth? S1 has an episode that opens up on a close up of some dude's gross mouth. Half of S3 is the bad guy's awful teeth and a shit load of close ups. S5 literally ended with a dude having food covered all over his teeth while smiling.

i never gave the show a chance, the cohen brothers film being one of my favorite kinos, one day it was on at a family member's house and i watched maybe 10 minutes of it, not sure what season, but there was some UFO shit happening in a motel or something and i'm just like wtf am i watching, how is this related to fargo? i never gave it another chance and probably never will. TV sucks most of the time. the last show modern show i enjoyed was chernobyl and it's just a miniseries so i don't even know if that counts.

S1 is most like the movie and worth a watch because of Billy Bob.
S2 people jerk themselves off over and I have no idea why. (It's the UFO one you mentioned.)
      S3 has good actors wasted
S4 is Black folk so nobody watched.
      S5 is Orange Man Bad

sounds terrible, why the frick did they choose the fargo IP for their shitslop and not just make their own original abomination? do the israelite bros enjoy seeing their work get soiled by proxy?

You can't actually believe this. Movies have sucked for years and TV is making up for it.

i said most of the time, and yes movies have sucked more often than not for years too but i'm so far into my cinema journey that i'm hardly ever wasting time on schlock. televison is an entirely different beast, and it's not making up for anything. the entire ecosystem for it is trash in comparison to films. beyond fragmented, inaccessible (need 20 different streaming platforms to watch their original slop that has replaced network TV). but comparing movies and tv is a bit disingenuous. different formats, different appeal, i've never gone to a movie theater with friends to watch a tv show through a projector in 75mm.

You're intentionally missing out on quality storytelling and content for moronic reasons.

i think you are misunderstanding. if a show looks kino, i will look into it, most of the time it's boring zeitgeist slop with the least redeeming aspects being the storytelling. i'm not missing out on anything. i have a kino radar, quality storytelling and "content" are not the only things i watch kino for. what i'm doing though is not enduring hours of the latest basedprogramming just on the chance one of them has some "quality content" sprinkled in it here and there.

I thought season 5 was fantastic. Makes fun of so many simultaneously. And Munch is an off the wall crazy character.

I liked the open ending of season 3. You have all the facts and it should lead you to one conclusion, but in the end, Varga's bullshit makes you question if that's actually true. Then you have the parallels to that opening scene with the supposedly wrongfully accused East German man. Everything tells you both Varga and the East German man go down, but it's Fargo and you can never quite know if this world is fair or not. Fantastic stuff.

It's bullshit when a show tries to make these sorts of commentaries on the world when the show is clearly set in it's own world. Plenty of things in the Fargo universe sound like nonsense in the real world, so it's a lazy copout for the ending to simply be, "the real world is crazy so who knows what happened really?"
