      >this shared universe thing is starting to backfire

I'm so mad. It looked like after Endgame they were finally leaning into just DOING comicbook stuff and not having to worry if normies couldn't keep up.
Now we are back with extremely loose adaptations that have none of the fun of the originals. Secret Invasion (the comic) was so mid in execution, that it left so much room for improvement. Instead we get the weakest spy fiction in the MCU to date.
Spider-Verse doing well should prove without a doubt "do the cool thing, and people will be onboard". Making Secret Invasion a 6 part series centring on Nick Fury sitting in a chair, and killing of Maria Hill, with no supes to be seen, isn't "the cool thing".

I feel like they only made this because they needed streaming shit. It probably would’ve just been incorporated somehow into a second movie with the Skrulls.

they should just reboot marvel and make it fully animated like spiderverse
no shitty pajeet cgi, no reduced scope from the comics, no deepfakes, no paying trillions of dollars more every movie for each actor showing up again
but I guess that depends if they have people inhouse to pull that off

Honestly, the coolest parts to the orginal Secret Invasion was the build-up, marketing, and some of the tie-ins. The actual mini was trash out side of the shock value of the first issue.
Marvel studio already ruined this with the Captain Marvel movie. Expect a filler arc that coasts on the undeserved reputation of the mini.

It is obvious this is based on the boringfest that was Secret Invasion 2: Electric Boogaloo (or maybe the other way around)

Nothing happened there and nothing will happen in the tv series.

        >Isn't weird that a Studio that does serialized movies based on serialized fiction cannot adapt to doing serialized tv content?
It's like opening up past a the limitations of a movie run time should be a great opportunity to tell some amazing, indpeth, stories that give the audience and actors something to chew on. Instead it all trash.

It's apparently going to setup Brave New World and Armor Wars, we see the current US president in this show but he'll probably be outed as a Skrull or die as we know Ross becomes the president in Cap 4

Such a waste. And I didn't feel anything, I felt they didn't do anything with the character. We feel we lost something just because she was in many movies before. It was boring and everything looked fake.

Probably flashback shit. They’re going to have to show what the frick Carol was doing for 20 something years while ignoring her oath to Talos and the other refugees. I assume there will be some sort of heart to heart between Fury and Hill as well.

TV episodes used to be 90% people talking in rooms because of budgets but they still had more stuff happening than a full season of a modern streaming show.

              >TV episodes used to be 90% people talking in rooms because of budgets
To be fair they still do, even in this show we only get to see a few Skrulls in their actual forms, most of the time they're humans.

Hoping they are just leaning too hard into the "Fury is rusty because PTSD". Having the opening episode of a sci-fi spy fiction show with fricking weak spy fiction stuff going on. Then killing off a cool character that comic readers actually like is so wack.
Btw, there is no way they actually killed Hill off right? At this point she needs to just replace Fury if they don't give him infinity formula and recast. Because DAMN he is old as frick. We should have our spy fiction type characters doing John Wick & James Bond shit in these films/shows. ESPECIALLY in a superhero setting. I mean frick, they already have killed off Black Widow, and Mockingbird was a stay at home mum that never did shit in these. Killing of Maria basically just leaves Silver Sable? Who 110% will be introduced, then later die, in the same Spider-Man movie.

you can tell this is going to be hampered by the low budget, Skrulls mostly stay in the same human form even when in their new homeland or having a secret meeting where they'd want to use another identity since they cant afford too much make-up or transformation shots, couldn't even get that black guy a blue food prop he could actually eat he had to pretend to bite into it lol

Werewolf by Night wound up being better than I expected but that may've been because their biggest CG ask Man-Thing was also semi-practical effects.

        Anonymous

Ok I'll give you that, I thought it was decent. I guess it helped it was just a one-and-done 30 minute thing. Only thing I didn't like was the obvious MCU joke of them making fun of Man-Thing's real name being Ted

Because they're essentially extended movies rather than actual TV shows, they don't really embrace the format which leads to most of them having a mixed bag quality because they're all over the place instead of just focusing on plot point
        >Wandavision- the initial mystery and the Wanda-Vision drama was great, the SWORD shit was not
        >Falcon and Winter Soldier- rare case of a D+ Marvel show where the subplots (Bucky, Zemo, John Walker, and Isaiah Bradley) were way more interesting than the actual story with the Flagsmashers
        >Loki- the best series in both presentation and how it actually impacts the MCU but is dragged down by it's short length keeping them from fully fleshing out its concepts
        >What If- what you expect from an anthology show, some eps are good and some not so much. The episode lengths and how it affects the pacing and writing is what really hurts the series.
        >Hawkeye- starts out as a simple MCU christmas adventure and turns into one big clusterfrick by the end
        >Moon Knight- best parts were Steven/Marc/Khonshu dynamic and the former two dealing with their shit, the Ethan Hawke cult and Layla were fine
        >Ms. Marvel- the "Disney Channel shit" that initially turned audiences off from watching the show ended up way more fun and stylish than the Djinn storyline that took over the middle part of the series
        >She-Hulk- actually embraced the episodic format for once, best eps were the ones that involved MCU characters like Bruce, Wong, Emil, and Daredevil, other than that it's a weird chick flick comedy.

Definitely a good point. I feel a lot of their shows would've worked better if they'd been longer and done a more episodic format. They chased after miniseries for prestige clout and it bit them in the ass. It's why I'm tentatively looking forwards to Daredevil: Born Again, because that's got 18 episodes so hopefully it'll feel like an ACTUAL TV show, even if it turns out as mediocre or shitty as everything else so far
I was especially disappointed in Loki tbh, because when I heard the concept I thought it'd be great for a TV series. I was expecting some Tom Hiddelston/Owen Wilson time-travel buddy cop hijinks across a series, and instead I got multiverse variant crap

          >They chased after miniseries for prestige clout and it bit them in the ass.
I think a reason for this is that Marvel is afraid of losing audience investment if most of their shows are too long plus they were initially spamming as much content as possible so they kept them as short as six episodes. It almost feels like a response to the Netflix Marvel shows, where the main complaint was that those were too long and stretched thin.
