Superhero movies have always been a tough sell. Marvel universe (before this phase) and the dark night are really the only 2 versions to do it right. It takes a combination of good directors, stories, and actors to pull it off. They now have bad stories, got rid of the good directors, and the good actors they had they either killed off or ruined their hero. There is no going back. Like DC is doing, Marvel will have to eventually do a hard reset and start over down the road. By the way I think the animated DC universe was pretty good too if anyone hasn't watched it yet check it out.
Marvel could just start focusing on Xmen, FF4 etc
I'm not sure that would work inside the current universe. Maybe they can start a new universe with xmen and f4, but to be real successful they would need big draws like the hulk, spiderman, ironman, thor, and capt. Xmen wont be able to carry unknown hero's going forward in my opinion. They could also do a standalone xmen universe like they did back in the day. They could do another trilogy. I would watch it at least.
How do normies even react to it? I can understand shared universe was an advantage when you had 5 movies in the span of four yers and then a big crossover, but how the frick anybody besides diehard marvel fans know what's going on when you have four movies and five shows in the span of one year? How do you get into marvel in the current year when you have over 30 movies to watch first? This is exactly the shit that made me not read any capeshit comic books other than Watchmen.
