I don't understand why people think Canie's words were a hint at someone in the cast being an NPC. It's FAR more likely either:
A) He tried to delete someone he thought was an NPC and it made them abstract or worse
B)He tried to preform a command on an NPC that is only meant for human controlled constructs and the results were equally horrible
It's also worth noting that computer very obviously stuttered when Pomni was loaded into the engine so at the very least there wasn't a preloaded Pomni asset

Personally I got the impression she is on the verge of going insane, not quite abstracting (since I assume that only happens with someone dies/commits suicide as the abstract is the result of a human construct being cut off when the brain dies) and so her model is glitching from the unstable mind behind it.
On that note I think there was meant to be a throughline here of Pomni's dream and her falling, with the ending showing her faith being restored and suddenly coming to terms with her situation in the form of the hands catching her from falling. But it might have needed to have a few shots in the middle of the episode of Pomni feeling stressed and that image of herself falling into the darkness flickering in her mind, It would have given a better payoff to her ending with now feeling like she has friends to support her.
It was cool to see that Kaufmo's funeral brought her this revelation. Something meant to remember someone who died but is actually an opportunity to celebrate their life was the thing that gave her that perspective that the other circus members are just like her and they are living people in the same boat as her. Just like how seeing Gummi Goo having a breakdown made her feel a connection with him, seeing the other circus members mourn their friend was what she needed to connect with them. The ending showed her feeling at ease with this whole mess for the first time since she arrived.

If the models aren't there then they don't need to be loaded in, hence they are tied to the circus member's own consciousness. What happened is that its now clear Kinger's gimmick is that he is a sane and mature individual who mentally retreated into himself.
This episode had like two moments with him as a focus one, lucid and one not.
The change they actually made was to tone down the anxiety.
Really the biggest difference from the pilot as a whole is that a lot of the mania that comes from being anxious energy is gone.

My theory is that he fears deep down that they won't bother throwing a funeral for him if he abstracts, and if anything, they'd be glad to be rid of him because of what a c**t he is.

also pomni was able to get out of the glitch to quickly, it would've been better if there was a montage of them trying random things, and we got to see them bond a little, it would've added a little poignancy to his death.
i would be a bit more forgiving of this episode becuase some shows need a second season to hit their stride.
But Gooseworx says there will be only ten episodes of the pilot included, so that means 10 percent of the series was spent on a mostly underwhelming episode.

The issue with the amazing digital circus is that it is essentially going to be the Red Dwarf episode Back to Reality, except in this case, it isn't a hallucination but a case of 'these people went in the VR world because of reasons'.

saw the episode. thought it was alright. favorite part was pomni's conversation with gummigoo. it showed that despite the difficult time she's having in adjusting to her new existence, she tries to be a decent person. she's also dealing with a lot of uncertainties, though at least she's gotten a little closer to the others at the end of the ep. what caine did to gummigoo did surprise me but there is a cruelty in the comedy that i sort of understand. and like ragatha said. he was still an A.I. NPC. i just hope he doesn't become a villain, bring him back in another episode sure but don't make him Solomon Grundy in JLU.

We barely got to know the guy besides the fact that he loves his mom and friends and is scared to realize he's an NPC.
also pomni was able to get out of the glitch to quickly, it would've been better if there was a montage of them trying random things, and we got to see them bond a little, it would've added a little poignancy to his death.
i would be a bit more forgiving of this episode becuase some shows need a second season to hit their stride.
But Gooseworx says there will be only ten episodes of the pilot included, so that means 10 percent of the series was spent on a mostly underwhelming episode.
I did like the contrast between Jax treating the world sophistically and Pomni trying to be compassionate towards the npcs.

It wasn't a funny joke because I saw it coming a mile away. Jokes can be funny if they surprise you, they can be funny in other ways but I didn't see any other deeper layers.
Sure it didn't subvert my expectations. But what was the point of his character, his arc. From my impression the whole point of this character was to evoke shock value, and since it was predictable it didn't shock me and thus failed to evoke the shows intended emotion or any emotion.

It has pacing issues where scenes don't transition with smooth establishing shots. It's better than magick sword, but it's too fast compared to something like Billy and Mandy.

saw the episode. thought it was alright. favorite part was pomni's conversation with gummigoo. it showed that despite the difficult time she's having in adjusting to her new existence, she tries to be a decent person. she's also dealing with a lot of uncertainties, though at least she's gotten a little closer to the others at the end of the ep. what caine did to gummigoo did surprise me but there is a cruelty in the comedy that i sort of understand. and like ragatha said. he was still an A.I. NPC. i just hope he doesn't become a villain, bring him back in another episode sure but don't make him Solomon Grundy in JLU.
Gummygoo will be same as he was at the start of the episode.
