Seeing how awful the new Futurama revival is, I’m really really worried about King of the Hill.

I'm not watching either one.
I haven't had a chance to watch it, what's so bad about it?
There was a futurama revival??
Why?
Because it was a very successful show that already survived multiple reboots, what's one more?
So is Lucky's.
>So is Lucky's.
Yeah but that's a good thing
Why don't you like Tom Petty?
Dang, people just be dying left and right.
I don't dislike Tom Petty, but Lucky was the worst thing that ever happened to the show.
A lot of people hate Licky. Because he bevomes the permanent thing in Luanne life. I think one of the main appeal was Luanne leaving the trailer park. While she does leave the trailer park luck himself is pretty white trash.
So is Thatherton's original voice actor.
you should probably be looking at the Beavis and Butthead revival to see how the KotH revival is going to be like
Came here to post this, was very pessimistic about the KOTH revival until I saw the Beavis and Butthead one. Now I am actually looking forward to it.
I never watched the B&B revival, it actually turned out good? Was it as good as the original run?
It's pretty good, yeah. Few misses, mostly hits.
>having any hope for a show that's been dead for 10+ years getting a revival
Biggest moron.
Reminder Luanne VA is dead.
So is the repairman that Ladybird bit
I didn't even know she was sick.
2009
She and her husband both died of pneumonia within a year of eachother IIRC. Her mom originally said it wasn't mold and then claimed later that it was a mold infestation at the house that killed them both. The coroner said there was no signs of mold in the autopsy.
There’s also John Redcorn’s first actor who got killed in a car accident iirc
And Peggy Hill, kinda wild that she died the same way Peggy almost died that one time.
What?
>they don't know
Being a drug addict?
Irony
Don't forget Gary Kasner's voice actor who died of old age.
Very easy to imitate
That happened early on in the shows run, he barely voiced him
Wait her VA died?
Kinda hoping the strikes keep this shit in development hell forever. Even with Judge's good track record I know how it'll turn out if he's not super involved.
brittany was incredible as luanne. in the span of a minute she's laughing then crying. too bad her daughter's going to be an orphan. no more luanne or lucky, which I don't mind. or principal moss since his VA passed too. A recast Khan too since no more whites voicing non whites. and no ladybird either. Oh God please let this never get off the ground man.
they should bring Cotton back for the revival and not explain how or why
Reminder that if this god awful idea actually happens they will absolutely be pressured into recasting Kahn
I don't think the union will allow them to have a white man play Kahn anymore.
Mike Judge is a pretty competent guy. Beavis & Butthead reboot was very satisfying. The only real stinker he's ever made is Goode Family. I trust him.
Yeah but consider that the later seasons of KotH while still good, were a notable decline in quality from the earlier seasons. They were running out of steam during the original run, so what are the chances that a modern production and all the horseshit that comes along with it won't just exacerbate that problem?
>so what are the chances that a modern production and all the horseshit that comes along with it won't just exacerbate that problem?
Let me introduce you to something called a 'time skip,' ultimately it allows writers to presume that over the course of the skip time has changed enough to enable NEW problems and stories. It's asinine.
Eh, I didn't dislike him but it was pretty clear they just wanted a celebrity voice actor.
Perhaps, since Judge IS pretty good, the time off and the change of circumstances forced by no longer having Luanne and Lucky's VAs around will spur some creativity?
We can only hope, but I've learned to avoid being optimistic about these things. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed.
I may be one of the few Cinemaphile posters who thinks the show was still consistently entertaining even in later seasons. I liked things like Minh bonding with Dale's gun group or Cotton dying to spite Peggy.
>the show was still consistently entertaining even in later seasons
Oh no, I agree with you there, I'm currently rewatching the series and while I'm definitely in the era where the plots were getting kind of contrived and characters started acting a little bit flanderized more often than I'd like, I still enjoy it consistently. I think they made the right call with when they ended it, because any further and I do think we'd have been in zombie KotH territory, I'm just not sure a revival would be a good idea because even with the time that's passed I don't know how likely it is that they can get back to the level of consistent quality the early and middle seasons had.
Its all corposlop from here on
Why are you comparing what KoTH might turn out to be with the Futurama revival instead of the Beavis and Butthead revival?
Toby Huss isn't returning to voice Kahn Souphanousinphone. The showrunner is also some guy who only does black reboots of TV shows. Drop all hopes for the reboot.
