Why was beast boy so eager to accept her back into the team after all the problems she caused him and his friends? Was he really that desperate for one more smash?

      Anonymous

He was happy she was alive and when she said she had amnesia he was determined to help her get her memories back and thought that she would join the team again when she did. But when none of that happened and she said she wanted to remain a schoolgirl, he was called upon by his team and chose to leave it at that.

i don’t think that answers his question, you’re explaining that he was trying to get her back, he was asking why he was trying to get her back even though she was a back stabber and what not. Shit Robin turned on them for slade too i think, right? he got a second chance, but they did know him much longer. either way i’m actually about to restart a rewatch of the series tonight haven’t seen it in years

          Anonymous

          >even though she was a back stabber
You realize she "died" fighting Slade and saving the town, right? And Beast Boy felt responsible for her siding with Slade despite her flipping out. He still sees her as a friend and was trying to help her. Of course her being brought back into the team would cause some tension but she would be given a chance. The last person that would forgive her would be Raven but that would be cleared in some episode where they work together, similar to an episode that they did that as well. My god anon did you even watch the show?

That was clear early on. She was always a moronic psycho c**t

        >Pretty fricking clear she cant control her power and has an episode in the middle of town with them there. She proceeds to throw a sperg fit and blames Beast Boy for "lying to her" when Robin suggests training for that in a pretty nonchalant manner. Like even if they hadnt been there, he is protege to the world's greatest detective...but nah totally BB's fault.
        >When she eventually comes back they immediately accept her with open arms showing her sperg fit was for no reason. Repays them by spying and trying to sell them out
        >Is somehow fricking surprised when BB gets pissed off after she reveals how she sold them out and that his friends / second family are probably being assassinated right now.
        >Somehow treats the TT that she betrayed in the first place and had accepted her like they are the worst people ever. Proceeds to mock and try to systematically murder them.
        >Fricks up the whole city
        >When the TT finally decide they had enough of her shit, she is somehow surprised they are pissed off over the whole "try to maliciously murder them" thing and arent talking to her.
        >After things get resolved and she is unpetrified later, she gaslights the guy who cared the most about her and makes him look like an butthole by faking her amnesia and being a massive b***h to him.

        Terra was absolute trash

I’m guessing she still holds a grudge against Beast Boy because of the whole “broken promises” thing and treated him like shit in the last episode because of it.

Which, again, would be moronic. It doesnt take a protege to the greatest detective in the world to figure out she couldnt control her powers, especially when she had a quake conniption a few yards away from their location

              Anonymous

I’m not just talking about that, Beast Boy also made the promise that he would be her friend no matter what, which he broke at the carnival after Slade revealed her secret. He was in the right to be mad at her, but I’m assuming that’s the reason why she wasn’t willing to befriend him again.

Early season 1 has some continuity issues, the sister episode was before they decided Raven would be an anti-social shut in which then gets partially resolved in the mirror episode which revealed she actually does like Beast Boy under the mask.

I think more people are annoyed that it ended with a cliff hanger than an actual ending. If they did give the show a conclusion fans might not have hated the last episode.

      Anonymous

That wasn't a cliffhanger. No one cared about the robot that the Titans didn't even spend 50 seconds fighting on screen.

The only question left unresolved is if Terra is not amnesiac and faking or is really and just landed on a few cutting words to Beast Boy at the end. But that's an intentional ambiguity "draw your own conclusions" thing, not a "we'll revisit this in the future" thing.

It is that honestly that end does not close anything, It feels like an open ending

I mean, rather than telling you "the story ends here" ends up leaving you with the mystery of what happened later.

Maybe a type ending, I don't know... Show the titans as adults, with their life formed and with an ending that says something like "We will be to protect the world and if we are no longer by then, new ones will come and fight for what is right" something like that, showing off some new Teen Titans

It would be a more satisfying ending.

Why do people say this moronic shit to cope? If they wanted to end season five with a series finale they had the perfect ending with that big ass battle with everyone, what is the point in making an episode with a massive hook, character focused, and clearly set up for a multi episode arc before being abruptly ended? Teen titans wasnt sure if they were getting another season, they did; didn’t expect it, then got cancelled suddenly. Do you actually believe your nonsensical argument that it was intended? Fricking moron

      >Teen titans wasnt sure if they were getting another season, they did; didn’t expect it, then got cancelled suddenly
The staff all say that this wasn't the case. Even 20 goddamn years and two semirevivals later. In the deluge of revivals: no one on crew has said "Hey contribute to my kickstarter for making "Teen Titans the The Sextagon Series.

When working on S5 the team were aware there was a chance of getting renewed and they were workshopping a spinoff premise that never got off the ground for that potential renewal. Because they didn't want to have to one-up the Brotherhood arc. Nothing was "sudden". Nothing got cut short every season of Teen Titans was 13 episodes and the staff were already on other projects by the time S5 even aired.

There was a pitched Season 6. The idea was to do the Teen Titans equivalent of Justice League Unlimited. I can see why it was rejected because it didn't sound very good.

      >what is the point in making an episode with a massive hook, character focused, and clearly set up for a multi episode arc before being abruptly ended?
The MO of the series was no secret identities, hero and Tower SoL time only.
Having the ending happen in school, and Terra reject reeintering BB's life, puts a hard bookend on that. Terra literally leaves in a meta sense

They also mentioned Kory's name, gave a hint at Cyborg's (Stone), and had Dick's name projected via. And before 2003, Raven's name was just Raven.
But that's besides the point. They wanted to keep that at a minimum.
          https://web.archive.org/web/20131103205225/https://www.titanstower.com/drawing-inspiration/
          >Glen: Ummm… hmmm… Well, the reason we never got into the secret identities and stuff like that is it just gets really complicated. Instead of all the characters having one name, they now had two names. We just felt that would get confusing and we just really didn’t want to get into that.
          >It was really important to me that little kids watching it could identify with characters. And I thought that the minute you start giving them secret identities then kids couldn’t project themselves onto the characters anymore. And that was important to me. I know it’s kind of important to have secret identities and stuff like that but we wanted everything to be really, really, iconic. Like, “Oh, there’s the robot guy. There’s the alien girl. There’s the witch girl. There’s the shape-changing boy.” There’s the we just wanted it really clean like that. We wanted it like old Star Trek. We just wanted it simple.

Having Terra be alive, but not a hero, isn't "clean". She's at odds with the show's philosophy. Which is why she can only exist as a finale thing.

It's unbelievable how many 40-something spergs forget that Teen Titans was unambiguously and blatantly described as being made for 3rd graders and no one else as opposed to Batman The Animated Series.

The literal whole reason why Teen Titans was a thing was because the creators felt cartoon capeshit was no longer being made with little kids in mind, thanks to stuff like BTAS, STAS, Batman Beyond, Justice League, etc. being made more with older kids and grown-ups as the target/peripheral demographics. Teen Titans was always supposed to be a show for 8 year olds, very kiddy and simple. It's not their fault it wound up appealing to adults the most of all of them.

We will never know, that's the point.
I had a friend in highschool who went to a high class university for fashion and just ghosted everyone from school. People she used to hang out with every day and go over their house. No fallout, just one day she stopped calling. This was probably more common before social media became an everyday thing.

The "season focuses on a Titan" thing was completely incidental for the first two seasons, first seasons set up lent itself to a lot of Robin episodes, second season was Terra's arc which meant a lot of Beast Boy. With 3-5, they actually started planning around it.
Remember how a show for a big network worked. They got the episode order in large chunks. It's almost always in packs of 13, 26, or 52, sometimes 65. They never got cancelled, they just didn't get another season approved, and yes there's a difference. Cancelled implies they got cut short, they knew what they had to work with and that another season after already going over the standard episode count was unprecedented. It's on them for choosing to divvy up episodes the way they did.

I know but the show frames her as someone who could have been a full hero if the right things happened. She formed a genuine bond with Beast Boy, but was hysterical and unable to realise it.

The comics and Go! were clear that Terra was never good or "just a c**t but still on the Titans' side in spirit", from day 1, she was out to kill them and any kindness was pure fronting, nothing more.

Yes. Beast Boy tries to convince himself that she's a hero gone astray in the comics but they keep doubling down on her just genuinely being an evil b***h.
At a certain point even Deathstroke (Slade) thinks she takes it too far. Beast Boy's arc is essentially having to accept that she's irredeemable.

The is show is good because the characters are fun and the episodes are interesting, but it’s also really flawed. Slade, for example, is really
cool and mysterious, but if you actually take a moment to analyse his motives, they’re mostly non existent or really shit. Like he’s hell bent on making Robin his apprentice because why exactly? Just find some other kid who’s willing or have a kid of your own to raise. Then he takes over the city but it doesn’t lead to anything. He’s evil for the sake of evil. Cool on the surface but uninteresting deep down.

Teen Titans was always supposed to be a show for 8 year olds, very kiddy and simple. It's not their fault it wound up appealing to adults the most of all of them.

They didn’t want to get into the deeper psychology, they wanted them to have a very strong impact.
Raven , Cyborg, and Beast boy are the peak examples of this. Without their comic based explorations into their psyche, you have these characters who viewers could project on more .Just yesterday we had a thread how 03 Cyborg was better than any other iteration, and half the responses were “he’s not whiny”.
Distilled to the basics of Raven being the daughter of a demon and gloomy, people have taken to seeing her as this dominant ideal goth girl instead of the type that puts up walls for fear of her own self. It’s makes her more alluring for more pleasant fantasy.
And Slade, free of his backstory, becomes a more enigmatic figure. They wanted to replicate that feeling of mystery comic characters had where you’d find them cool as a kid based on immediate details.
