It's incredibly refreshing to see a cartoon character actually get angry with someone who hurt them and not immediately forgive the perpetrator just cause they've changed sides. Seems like no matter how heinous the crimes they've committed, reformed villains nowadays are granted automatic unconditional forgiveness by the heroes.
It would've been better coming from someone else, instead of the c**t who got pissy about literally everything. So coming from her, it just came across as her being petty and c**ty for no reason.
Just like how she got when Aang was good at waterbending.
No, it wouldn't have been better for it to come from another character. Katara being emotional and vindictive are character traits/flaws she has, her being angry at Zuko makes perfect sense (especially after he already took advantage of her kindness). That's called good and consistent writing for a character.
>instead of the c**t who got pissy about literally everything
were you literally 10 years old when you first watched Avatar?
No seriously every time I see someone describe Katara like this it's always someone who was an actual child when it first aired
Nah it's more realistic that way
with how many years went by it'd be less believable that he's still somehow in his prime
though I suppose it would make it more interesting to portray his pathetic side if he was still like that
Sometimes not killing someone is a worse punishment
You'd be surprised how many actual awful people WANT to die so they don't have to live with themselves anymore it's way more cruel to keep them alive, which I guess is something prison sort of does
>it's obvious she knew keeping him alive was worse
nah, she makes a judgement but i don't think her final words on it make her feel like she got a greater schadenfreude from watching him get emasculated by his b***hy mom. She sounded like he deserved it and was unsure if her not delivering a "fair" punishment was a strength or a weakness. If she had thought it was the worse punishment, she would have been less conflicted and possibly mocked him further. Her behavior just doesn't imply that this was where her headspace was at.
Doesn't Zuko himself say pretty much the same thing more or less? Hell, you can't even really argue that the rest of them blindly trusted him except for Toph who had never met the guy before outside of a few seconds when they were fighting Azula, and who could tell he was telling the truth, and who is also literally blind. The best reaction everyone else gives him is potentially taking him as a prisoner out of reluctant necessity to teach Aang firebending. There's a reason everyone needs to go on their life changing field trip with Zuko, this shit takes time to heal and build trust, it wasn't instantaneous and they gave him shit all the time. I really don't know who you're arguing against, the show itself agrees with you.
I think she still acted a bit on the edge, but indeed, her reactions are admittedly still very understandable. In fact, in Ba Sing Se, she opened up the most towards Zuko when in the crystal prison, so his betrayal had a deeper cut on her.
That being said, the others weren't been blindly trustful with him. Toph (ironically enough regarding the blind thing) actually perceived the genuine good intentions on Zuko as a living lie detector. Aang and Sokka do remember Zuko did try to save them against combustion man, and in Sokka's case he never had too much of a personal baggage against him (to Sokka, Zuko was mostly just an annoyingly persistent enemy).
To me, it's a case of the parties involved having good points. Katara would be understandably pissed at Zuko but at the same time Zuko does his best to prove he really changed and the others certainly can see his changes for the better, Katara only needed more time and effort from Zuko's part.
If Aang wasn't in the story you can bet she's the kind of girl who would frick the anti hero Kylo Ren character. Women aren't as dedicated to good nice guys unless they are written by male snoiboys
She had every right to frick Zuko
This. Zuko should have been forced to help repopulate the Southern Tribe
No shit. Especially given his last action.
She looks better with this outfit than her regular one.
I dunno, I like the curtain braids, and her old dress gave a better idea of her body shape as well as looking elegant
Opening this thread with a strawman complaint that literally no one ever actually has, I see. Let's see your response to this one
>then you didn't love her the way I did!
>a strawman complaint that literally no one ever actually has
They did but only the underage zuko fangirls
>Opening this thread with a strawman complaint that literally no one ever actually has
you clearly weren't around back when the show was airing, fans loved to shit on Katara for being mean to poor old Zuko
You mean Cinemaphile?
Because this site has been shitting on her sincr the dawn of time, even the anons that self-insert as Aang want to cuck her.
>bloodbending is LE BAD
>neutralizes a soldier that was defendig himself with it anyway
>Bloodbending STILL bad tho
That still rubs me the wrong way sometimes.
Especially considering this takes place a while after Katara heard the whole spiel with Sokka saying he looks up to her as if she were his mother.
Exactly what i said
These homosexuals are goal moving morons that band wagon after a fricking hypocrite

The real question is:
Should she have really spared the man that killed her mother?
no making him continue living with his mother was a worse fate
What if he was still a ruthless army officer? Making him a pathetic loser made things much easier for her.
Nah it's more realistic that way
with how many years went by it'd be less believable that he's still somehow in his prime
though I suppose it would make it more interesting to portray his pathetic side if he was still like that
I was just too glad that no one interfered on her choice
No she should have made blood come out of every single orifice.
Yes, you can't just kill someone for being a retired soldier.
Unless you're American (israeli)
As long as it was her choice.
Sometimes not killing someone is a worse punishment
You'd be surprised how many actual awful people WANT to die so they don't have to live with themselves anymore it's way more cruel to keep them alive, which I guess is something prison sort of does
That isnt why she spared the guy tho
I mean she literally called him sad and pathetic, it's obvious she knew keeping him alive was worse
>it's obvious she knew keeping him alive was worse

she could have at least you know, crippled him ontop of it

i mean yeah that episode is like almost universally considered a top 5 episode

She had no right to shit on Sokka using information he told someone else in confidence, like the fricking shitflinger she is
She is a self entitled c**t. Why is she the only one who had a happy life in Korra?
If Aang wasn't in the story you can bet she's the kind of girl who would frick the anti hero Kylo Ren character. Women aren't as dedicated to good nice guys unless they are written by male snoiboys
>would
she definitely let Jet pop her cherry
>mogs your shitty canon
Heh...
The best part about this episode was seeing how terrifying and effective Katara would be if she were a villain. Or at least more aggressive in fights.
Seeing Zuko realize how fricked he could have been was really great, too.
Iguess she loved her mom more ghan sokka
Why did Katara get so ridiculously OP
I completely agree with you. She's still a b***h though.
