>Character that is perfect, overly competent, and lacks any major character flaws. A character that acts as morally pure and always in the right. One that is often an avatar for the writer
It's not that hard to understand the term.
The definition of the term, as it derives from fanfic about self inserts
It gets used to mean "character I don't like" around here with a regularity that beggars the dialogue of OP, but it has an actual meaning, like fridging does, that is not defined by "wah I don't like it"
Mary Sue was the name of the main self insert character in an infamous piece of OS Star Trek fan fiction where everyone was a moron and 16 year old Mary Sue solved all the problems with her super smarts, while all the senior officers pined for her affections.
The original term for Mary Sue meant shitty self insert fan fiction characters who were perfect, flawless little snow flakes that could do anything and everything with ease and would master new skills instantly while the original main characters take a step back and let Mary Sue do her thing and make them look incompetent.
I would like to think if her head is destroyed she wont resurrect herself. Otherwise you're a bit right. I mean, she even basically unvolunteers herself from the action side of the story.
So is it like a fetish thing? Like if she’s empty after the second or third shit does she just use her powers to materialize new turds in her colon cause she’s too impatient to wait for digestion to run it’s natural course?
I'm just trying to think why that would happen. I would think she would shit less since she's using her body's resources to create things outside of her body. Eating more to replenish the lost matter she converted to energy might do it.
really she should be overeating so she can convert the fat into the stuff she makes from her body otherewise she'd end up more skeletal than kate moss in that family guy episode. Horikoshi's missing out on some prime eating disorder themed plotlines there
>character can just power their poop away >immediately becomes detached from the reality of having to find a toilet and cleaning yourself afterwards
She doesn't want to look down.
What's so unbelievable about this? It's a comment on how using her powers taxes her metabolism. I bet she has to eat a lot when she uses them a lot, too.
That's the whole point of Amber (At least in the comics). She's a literal nothing character. A nobody. Her entire reason for existing was to represent a sense of human normalcy in Mark's rapidly changing life, and representation of his own self denial in what he is.
Even the domestic violence shit was just a reason to tempt Mark into violence but ultimately demonstrate his capacity for restraint against normal shitass humans when compared to his father.
It's why the show Amber is so fricking miserable to watch. They tried to make her something she's not. Something.
And the result is a massive, b***hy c**t.
Kinda weird his children grew old enough to have facial hair but they are still purple. Didn't Oliver's skin color change by the time he was a very young adult?
Holy mary sue. I'm finally done reading this. 8/10 despite some stuff either being resolved too conveniently or bad things being brought about too moronicly.

FIRST POST. BLOW IT OUT YOUR ASS POST.
I hate this mary sue so much
>Mary Sue
this word has no meaning anymore
>Character that is perfect, overly competent, and lacks any major character flaws. A character that acts as morally pure and always in the right. One that is often an avatar for the writer
It's not that hard to understand the term.
A Mary Sue has to be inserted into an ongoing narrative, like Rey. Eve is there from the beginning.
>A Mary Sue has to be inserted into an ongoing narrative
According to whom?

But you love Batman.
Batman has flaws
No I hate Batman and his extended family
Batman has all kinds of fricked up mental issues so you're just plain wrong on that, champ.
she's not perfect, not particularly competent, and has plenty of character flaws. She just has an OP powerset.
is she even a mary sue? nu-amber gives me more sue vibes (and not because they raceswapped her u fricking racists)
I would like to think if her head is destroyed she wont resurrect herself. Otherwise you're a bit right. I mean, she even basically unvolunteers herself from the action side of the story.
>mary sue
Is she really?
So is it like a fetish thing? Like if she’s empty after the second or third shit does she just use her powers to materialize new turds in her colon cause she’s too impatient to wait for digestion to run it’s natural course?
I'm guessing if she doesn't want to poo it out she could just use the extra matter stored. b***h enjoys taking massive shits.
The saddest people shit the loudest
Big woop. I take 7-10 shits a day too and I'm not superman.
That's too many shits a day anon, go see a doctor.
if true, you need to see a doctor
Don't listen to those jealous shitlets, anon.
Women poo? I thought it was only guys who did that.
Why else do women have buttholes?
So you have somewhere to put your thumb during doggy
For a change of pace
for the man to insert his penis? it's like asking why would they have a vegana
But it's not an alternate, smellier vegana anon
That's a really stupid drawback and it doesn't make any sense. Maybe Kirkman just has a shit fetish and tried to disguise it.
I'm just trying to think why that would happen. I would think she would shit less since she's using her body's resources to create things outside of her body. Eating more to replenish the lost matter she converted to energy might do it.
Damn, comic books really are israeli
who?
Atom Eve
I wondering abvout what makes this chick tick now
really she should be overeating so she can convert the fat into the stuff she makes from her body otherewise she'd end up more skeletal than kate moss in that family guy episode. Horikoshi's missing out on some prime eating disorder themed plotlines there
I'm surprised that there aren't that many superheros with eating disorders linked to their powers.
It seems like an obvious and reliable source of personal conflict for mini-story-arcs
They make the same joke in the manga, comparing her powers to shitting.
She gets freaky one day uses her powers to create what’s basically an endless turd, like imagine pushing out 39-40 feet of rope but it’s shit
Now I have a commssion idea, thanks anon
I mean who doesn't like taking massive shits?
It's like you have a massive shit and you feel like you're ten stone lighter
Why is she making that look while saying this?
Getting her hole stretched out for free is probably fun
She realizes that Mark is picturing it.
HOT HOT HOT
HOTHOTHOT
HOOOOOOOOTTTTT
Is she doing a set at a comedy club?
>character can just power their poop away
>immediately becomes detached from the reality of having to find a toilet and cleaning yourself afterwards
She doesn't want to look down.
A thinly veiled reference to the abominable horror that is period shits
What's so unbelievable about this? It's a comment on how using her powers taxes her metabolism. I bet she has to eat a lot when she uses them a lot, too.
>I bet she has to eat a lot when she uses them a lot, too.
You now realize we are going to see Fatom Eve animated.
I figure the joke would be the reverse of this:
>"Whenever I use my powers a lot, I don't shit for like 2. sometimes 3, weeks."
Will we see black Amber go through the same thing in the show?
Doubtful. It doesn't add anything to the story. Amber is pointless after they break up.
So was it like a fetish snuck into the comic or just like punishing her?
Neither. The book fed on gratuitous violence and drama.
That's the whole point of Amber (At least in the comics). She's a literal nothing character. A nobody. Her entire reason for existing was to represent a sense of human normalcy in Mark's rapidly changing life, and representation of his own self denial in what he is.

Amber is such a nothing character
On my face.
Honestly, Robot is the real Mary Sue. Like Bulma.
I'm almost done reading this. What's with the constant cucking?
He fricks a lot
Kinda weird his children grew old enough to have facial hair but they are still purple. Didn't Oliver's skin color change by the time he was a very young adult?
Cute!
CUTE!!!
I want to make her my wife!!
Holy mary sue. I'm finally done reading this. 8/10 despite some stuff either being resolved too conveniently or bad things being brought about too moronicly.
You just know they have the best sex of their lives after that
>Mark gets to have an immortal hot redhead wife
Ignore Eve as a character and it's Kino
