I always felt like they had to throw in him going to the movies just to make him look worse, because otherwise he was objectively correct in prioritizing active terrorists over his girlfriend.

I like Alan Moore but this was a really stupid thing to say. First of all people wouldn't just be going about their regular day to day lives if they had a literal super power. Secondly even if they did just stick to their normal lives, it wouldn't be about getting somewhere early, you would be leaving at the last possible minute because with super speed you never have to use so much time to prepare anymore.
