Anon... I'm sorry I don't wanna shit up the board. I don't come to Cinemaphile often, I stick to my /vg/ general; but I wanna talk about Hazbin. I find it annoying to bounce between various threads, with a multitude of topics, that might not even reach bump limit, and could all be contained in one /general/ thread on a /Comics and Cartoons Generals/ board. That's all I'm saying.

Gonna Alastorpost about this before the final two episodes.
I like to headcanon that Alastor wins his duets with Vox and Lucifer simply because he doesn’t show frustration like they do. Sure there are times where he’s shown to be irritated in Episode 3, but they’re really quick. Meanwhile Vox & Luc always get visibly butthurt when Al shows them up in their respective songs, and his monologue about his smile being a tool enlightened me to that idea.
At the same time, with Lucifer in particular despite Alastor getting on his nerves he doesn’t actually win, they just kept butting heads until Mimsy crashes the party. I kind of like that, since it shows that the King of Hell is still powerful without making him a complete pushover for the Radio Demon.

Over the entire show, he's constantly seething internally. The eye-twitches he does, for instance. Him plastering a smile on his face isn't really a sign of some sort of greater control, it's just a basic strategy. It still was not enough with Lucifer, because with Lucifer Alastor got so comically butt-blasted he started swearing, and blew up on Husk in frankly undeserving of that conditions. The Vox duet was him bullying Vox, the Lucifer duet was him trying his hardest to walk the tightrope of ticking off a man who can incenirate him without actually provoking a fight, and he couldn't even do that well enough.
