I'm telling you guys, if this cartoon was about a girl from LA going to Mexico to visit her cousins for the summer, this show would've flown under the radar. Maybe tweak some of the names, and you can even have a little gag where one of the cousins at the end of the intro goes, "Actually, it's 'Oigan Primos'". Sort of in the same fashion as Cadence as the end of the Phineas & Ferb song.
It would actually highlight the trait that Tater is unfamiliar with Spanish because she's much more American and makes mistakes rather than just looking like a flat-out typo on the showrunners behalf.
To be fair, all the Primos are saying Oye Primos too and her dad is white. So far only the oldest one is shown to actually know Spanish so maybe it's a joke the whole cast will be bad at Spanish
Could even have some funny hijinks of her accidentally getting involved with a Cartel and have it end with her pissing them off and they give her a necklacing
