>Preexisting characters with literal decades of scientific feats, and accomplishments >'no but this new character is smarter than them tho'
the fact they opened with that statement diminishes anything Lunella will ever accomplish, because it stems from the inorganic push to make her the 'smartest-est character in the marvel universe!' - literally revealing their intentions before even building up the character.
they poisoned their own well.
that said, she's a character for dumb babies, so she shouldn't be taken seriously, in general
I am not mad at this character, but I think you are dismissing this discussion a bit too much. It's not quite the same to have this character in her own book, and her own universe, building up her reputation and her feats, or straight just being a comedy character, as it is to add her to a preexisting universe and tell the readers of said universe that she is better than other characters they might be fans of, because it's like that.
In your example, it's more like adding a new character to Jimmy Neutron, lets say Dexter from Dexter's Lab, that's meant to be simply better than him, and no joke about it, no he is the bad guy actually, not at the end new guy wasn't that good. It's just plain old we are with the second smarter kid if we follow this kid.
Please don't consider this me saying Dexter is smarter than Jimmy, I don't think that's measurable not actually important, but it's the crux of the issue. Shared universes have their advantages, but in situations like this the odd tone of something else In the same universe can be discordant.
Why? It's just a subject about the universe this comics take place on and discussed in a place dedicated to such discussions: There is no objectively important thing to discuss here, it's always just hypotheticals and considerations on the basis of entertainment and comparisons for the sake of comic analysis.
Talking about a character within the context of the universe they are brought into, and the decisions of the team that made said character and commercialize it, or about other characters in the same universe and how this new character reflects on them, it's just common sense for people that like, or at least read, comics that talk about said characters or universe, in a board for said comics.
Please explain in a logical way what's the objective reason why such discussions should be dismissed if you consider that's the case.
See, that's not logical nor objetive. Also, bullshit has two known definitions (a do forgive me for using google here, but it seems like the lesser evil to have common ground) >stupid or untrue talk or writing; nonsense.
or >talk nonsense to (someone) in an attempt to deceive them.
On the part of being un true / false / nonsense, I would argue the point has already been thoroughly made on why that's false:
On the point of taking it as stupid, I don't that's something worthwhile to consider; no matter what you discuss about comics and or cartoons, it's stupid in several contexts.
Regardless, I will no longer consider your arguments, since they lack a logical backing and depends on your subjetive personal feelings, and while I don't want to outright dismiss you or your feelings, it's also pretty gay and not very based to care for such constraints. Therefore frick you and your mother.

You made no decent counter points and made a too long post.
I'd say frick off but you don't deserve to be fricked, go die in a shit pit
I have no issue with the character in particular, I simply live to consider such subjects in the abstract, but an argument could be made in whether a character such as you are describing needs to be canonical to the larger universe if the case is as you are explaining.
I mean does it matter in the end? i've lost how many marvel characters in general are introduced as "the smartest being in the marvel universe"
It happened to sto tony stark, it Happened with hank pym, it happened with bruce banner, it happened with Hank mcoy, it happened with reed richards and his daughter, t'challa and his gizmos, now moongirl.
to be honest if i had to choose a character it would be mr. fantastic, and maybe hulk in second place and that's it, but in the end nothing matters when half the marvel univerese has "genius level intelect"
Citing Sindrome from the incredibles: when everyone else is a "high level genius" no one will be.
In the end is a worthless label to me as a reader.
Fair; but consider that the writers are still trying to push that and that means:
a) They don't get how meaningless they have made the term
b) They kind of shit on fans of pre established characters, since like the other anon said it's just a editorial decision, not something that feels earned. Making it so that those that were into X character feel like said character is now meant to be less because of an editorial decision.
c)Even if you are 100% right, that ends up adding to "Well, then they are doing something wrong because that's clearly not meant to be the case"
>i've lost how many marvel characters in general are introduced as "the smartest being in the marvel universe"
None of the characters you mentioned were introduced as that. They just showed their intelligence purely through actions, not marketing slogans.
Those character got that lable later on in someway, Banner out scienced a bunch of heroes and defeated them one time(not using the hulk, literally beating them with some shit he made) , a Reed and Doom are regarded as the smartest people around constantly, T'challa is regard the smartest due to wakanda being 'oh so more advanced', the amount of things Tony makes and things based off of his tech(the Iron Sentinels come to mind) is is large, and Hank Pyn is "SCIENTISTS SUPREME OF EARTH" right now, whatever that really means.
Being the smartest is the equivalent of being the strongest right now. You're that until the next story gets focus, in which that special character is the smartest.
There was an issue where she got in a shit flinging contest with Valeria and Reed just condescendingly replied to them both while doing some adult stuff
In a world like the Marvel Universe, where stuff like Aliens, Gods, time travel and multiple dimensions exist, how exactly does one get named the smartest person?
As a reader we see the characters achievements proving it, as mr. fantastic or hulk.
As a writer, specially modern writers, you only need to say because he/she is, for some reason. Also you need to take on account how marvel likes to make stupid controversy instead of making actual good stories to make readers interested.

by solving this thing, created specifically for her to solve, that established her as the smartest character in the universe
A mcguffin is your argument? I can't take that seriously specially about banner creating it in the first place but not solving it, is incredibly dumb as a concept.

That's the thing with capeshit, no matter how over the top it gets, it always has to remain within a humna grasp so to speak because they are the protagonist and there is a status quo to maintain.
Logically, by it's very concept the kree supreme intelligence, the fusion of all the greatest mind in the kree interstellar empire combined in one, should be ridiculously smarter than any human, but for it to be beaten and outsmarted it needs to stay at a level playing field.
Same reason that those same alien empire fail to conquer earth. If Tony Stark can make an Iron Man armour with the resources of a billionaire, than there is no reason that empire that take up the large part of a galaxy with superior technology shouldn't be able to mass produce Iron Man tier armours or robots. Instead they always send grunts that can easily be handled by hawkeyes because he needs to do something in the action scenes.
>smartest character in the univese >doesn't solve world hunger, sickness and diseases >doesn't replace rich old white men in power
What did she mean by this?
The comics Issues 20-21 are my favorite. She meets this moon-like alien (Like ego but smaller) and helps her find her dad. Overall, it's just cute fun. If squirrel girl can beat up everyone why can't Lunella outsmart everyone? Anyway most of her comics are about her and Devil, at least the ones I read.
Cartoon version is cuter

It’s also a weird flex stating that intelligence is genetic, especially for the ship libs writing comics now
Shes a character made for toddlers, thats like being mad at Jimmy Neutron being the smartest kid in the world
I am not mad at this character, but I think you are dismissing this discussion a bit too much. Moon Girl largely keeps to herself in her books though. Her being a kid gag character keeps her away from interacting with more serious characters.

She's rank #2 as the smartest person in Marvel.
https://screenrant.com/smartest-characters-marvel-comics-ranked/#reed-richards
Rank #12 as the smartest.
>She's rank #2 as the smartest person in Marvel
Why the frick. Even the previous diversity-hire genius character didn't make the top 5
I remember a panel where she’s discredited as the smarted by pym & reed but I can’t remember the book
There was an issue where she got in a shit flinging contest with Valeria and Reed just condescendingly replied to them both while doing some adult stuff

But banner was like 6th or 7th smartest. How could something he make determine whose the smartest
A mcguffin is your argument? I can't take that seriously specially about banner creating it in the first place but not solving it, is incredibly dumb as a concept.
but anonymous, look! rockefeller university VERIFIED it! i want to say it's stupid, but my knees - they're moving on my own!
>Banner Box
>could imply a complex phenomenon where a person can create something that they cannot solve, even if they invented it

Banner is probably the smartest person on the planet given he has multiple genius level personalities.
Valeria should send her racist memes just to troll her
It's the same genius level between them though
That's the thing with capeshit, no matter how over the top it gets, it always has to remain within a humna grasp so to speak because they are the protagonist and there is a status quo to maintain.

Reed didn't do any of that shit either
tbh reed gets called a stretchy butthole for it
ain't nobody gonna call lunella anything close
Reed's daughter is smarter than him too

Anyone got the panels of where she was giving her teacher shit for not be dismissive of her?
