Beta are just big angry monsters that are too numerous for humanity with their -real robots- to give real fight.
Though there are some parallel universes and super brain betas and shit, but getter can do that too and better.

The BETA aren't known for evolving, but they are massive in number, not just the ones on Earth but also 10^37 of them scattered around the universe
Shin Getter gets far outclassed during the Arc era and it doesn't exactly have unlimited energy so it probably can't fair against the universal BETAs. Maybe something like Gunbuster/Diebuster can do the job.

You're right for the wrong reasons.
The problem with Shin is that it was too strong. There wasn't an upper limit to how many getter rays it could absorb and it ended up becoming the all-devouring, semi-living freak of nature you see at the end of Go. Arc is a better alternative BECAUSE it has limits to how powerful it is.

Exactly, and I'd even go as far as say the reason Ryoma, Go and Messiah Tahir brought the thing to Mars was so it wouldn't eat the Earth as it evolved
To be fair, Shin got most of it from Dragon (or saint Dragon, as it is now), which also suffering from its own brand Getter Overload.

Exactly what ARE the differences between the Manga and Armageddon versions of Shin Getter Robo? Beside their appearances, I mean. I've read the manga and watched Armageddon, but I couldn't quite wrap my head around it.
Manga Shin has been taking in Shin Dragon's Getter radiation for years. Eventually it becomes the prototype of the Emperor by the time of Go. Armageddon Shin is kinda that but without the years of nonstop Getter absorption

Could you remind me when is it said that Shin has been absorbing Dragon's Getter rays? I remember seeing it but after looking through the manga I couldn't find it so I just thought I was having a mandela effect.
It wasn't directly stated, but some theorized that Dragon amplified Shin Getter's evolution; even though the latter was built to absorb and store getter Energy on its own.

As we later learn from the Shin Getter manga, the radiation comes from Dragon.
Well for one, it ate a nuke in the manga and then went on to terraform an entire planet. Hell it outraced the rocket too.

If you've seen Armegeddon, you damn well know what will happen (especially when you're dealing with veterans of the Great Moon War).
Without power level damage/defence calculations in mind and assuming Getter Rays can't adapt to assimilate lasers, Laser class BETA would pressure all Getter forms (generally Getters aren't impenetrable as much as they can take lots of damage and regenerate) by being able to OHK the pilots in wienerpits for as long as Laser classes can keep up the aim and would make high-rise Open Gets very risky but, otherwise, BETA would be fricked
Can't they just go Shin Getter 2 completely invalidate Laser BETA? I mean, I'm pretty sure they can't do much against targets that can reach them from underground in the blink of an eye

IIRC SRW X-Omega had a crossover with Muv-Luv and Getter Armageddon. Shin Getter got badly damaged when the Getter team hold off the BETA alone while the Muv-Luv cast is doing something else.
