Isn't it basically done because Japan Railways isn't licensing and sponsoring the show anymore, which means they can't really do the show without it.
I don't think JR has pulled out of Shinkalion, they couldn't do licensed trains without that. (Though other things like Car Robots and GaoGaiGar have gotten away with it.) TT seems to alternate between Tomica and Plarail projects and we're in the middle of the Tomica JoBraver web series.
Part of me wants to say Z didn't pull the numbers the first series did. The novel coming out sounds a LOT like a proposed movie treatment in print form. Regardless it's still a bigger franchise and they clearly want to keep SOME interest while there's no anime running.
JR in general has licensed with Tomy since the beginning of Plarail's existence, so if they're done with Shinkalion, it means nothing in regards to the larger Plarail line. Unless JR may offer to continue it with more new shinkansen models since all the current models are used in some form. Too bad about the East-i though.

Sucked that Z tried to just have S1 popularity to carry it and didn't do anything with their characters. Hell there's even two meta episodes about how the red and blue kids(yeah I forgot their names) don't feel like they are bringing anything to the team because Shin is so much stronger.

Kyoto Railway Museum will put their 500 Series car into the Eva 02 colors at the end of October until the end of January. No full/functional train as that is still Hello Kitty.

One more Kaisatsukyo Rifle for the TYPE EVA-01, basically. I heard this could very well be the last Shinkalion Z item, more or less, if they can't make an EVA-00 Shinkalion.
Rifle is a pun on "West Japan", not-Positron Rifle is apparently a ticket punch. They made a little more effort than with 01's spear at least.
Weapon swapping may be the idea for the EVAs, but they don't need Zailiners to do it compared to most other Shinkalion Z. Well, I can see the puns anyway, which helps giving this limited line character.
I don't think there's a Zailiner that really fits the Unit 02. Enshu Railway has an Asuka/Mari train but it's plastered with images of them and might be considered more light rail anyway.
