On one hand Baldr Sky's story is just a much worse, blander knock-off of Muv-Luv Alternative but on the other Baldr has gameplay and gets to the robots immediately while Muv-Luv starts with 20+ hours of SoL comedy. So depends on what you want.
I'd say its underselling Baldr Sky a tad bit. It's certainly heavily inspired by Muv Luv as a lot of VNs that followed it were, but it's not a rote copy. If anything the story is borrowing more from Deus Ex than Muv Luv, what with a heavy focus on the infinite power of nanotechnology. Also Sora is just an improvement on Sumika in every way.
>borrowing more from Deus Ex
More like borrowing from Neuromancer that Deus Ex borrowed from, too
Baldr series' (with its themes being the same across the installments) first game came a year before Deus Ex ya know
Sumika has zero fricking character beside 'Muh Takeru', while Sora has an entire plotline of her own that being her efforts to help Rain out. Also Sumika has zero impact on the rest of the cast for the most part in Unlimited and Alternative where the main squad never get to know her or really care, while Sora's absence is very tangible throughout most of Baldr Sky and she has thematic connections with every other girl from Rain blaming herself for Sora's death, to Chinatsu competing with a ghost because she could never get Kou for herself during their school days, to Makoto being so broken by her sister's death that she willingly signs up to the mad cult.

If you'd say "of Neuromancer" then I wouldn't call you out on being an absolute incapable homosexual cripple that can't make a good bait to save own life
Anons are shitting on you but you're right.
Regrettably it also copied muv luv's crappy SoL but put it right in the middle of the VN instead.

It's cyberpunk, the fact that it took inspiration from neuromancer is implied.
You wouldn't point out how literally any high fantasy work was inspired by LotR now would you?
It depends on how fast you read but probably, the game is 80-100 hours long if you don't frick around too much.
I think my first playthrough took 180 hours but at least half of that was coming up with combos in training mode.
Also don't bother with very hard until you've unlocked more moves, the first couple of routes were not balanced with it in mind.

Which one is gunparade?
Sounds like I want Baldr Sky.

Sumika is far better and popular than Sora, you just have shit taste.
Sumika has zero fricking character beside 'Muh Takeru', while Sora has an entire plotline of her own that being her efforts to help Rain out. Sora is Sumika done right.
I'm not gonna waste my time argue against a hater of Sumika that just spews obvious bullshit about her.

Baldr Sky is better. If you have an emulator and know JP try Gunparade March.
By the way, how tf i consistently get rid of enemy armour in baldr sky? So fricking annoying.
Can you 100% it in 2 weeks?
I have time to kill before AC6 drops.

Muramasa > muv luv alternative > demonbane > the rest of muv luv >>>>>>>>> baldr
The routes in Baldr Sky are very samey. ML tells a much better story and Extra isandatory, don't listen to anyone who says otherwise.
