Harder to get the stains out.

II only now realized after 20 years of reading The Authority, that Midnighter and Apollo are supposed to be an alternate gay version of Superman and Batman.

The Authority is supposed to be a more cynical take on the superhero team, they're supes that asked themselves, "Why go after purse snatchers when we can round up corrupt world-leaders that do real damage to humanity?" It's a DC property.

Watching a dimensionally-displaced Captain Atom beat all their asses was one of the high points of modern comics.

Look, we've been through this same thread with slight changes before. Changing something for the sake of changing it, when the iconic usual outfit works perfectly fine, is just stupid.

It's not stupid if it looks cool.

It doesn't look that cool. There really isn't any reason to do it. And besides someone like Clark wouldn't go around wearing white and gold anyway, not his style.

No, it's far too holier–than–thou for Supes.

Superman's design has already been perfected. Anything else is just change for the sake of change.

    Don't mess with that works.
That said, I could see this being used for a Supes that is around in the future.

    I'll take white and cyan.

Black and yellow can also work.

And prove that Lex Luthor and Batman were right about Superman and his god complex?

How does a simple outfit prove that? It just looks good.

Why would superman want to look like a knock off of superman?

How is it a knockoff when all Superman did was change a few colors?

        >How is it a knockoff when all Superman did was change a few colors?
That's the definition of a knock off

Superman using the color scheme of a bootleg Superman within the same publication is honestly pathetic if you think about it. Superman already got an iconic color scheme and it doesn't need changing. It's not like Superman is Batman with Batman's questionable color scheme that's either black. dark blue, and etc.

Primary colors just work for a heroic and virtuous protagonist

    Learn your color theory.
Blue is a color that denotes security and authority while not being as oppressive or alienating as black. There's a reason police traditionally use that as their uniform color, for example.

White and gold feels like it's some bullshit powerup form for Superman. Red and Blue works better for his down to earth side.

So if Superman decided one day to go into a quasar and became a OP god on the spot, then will you people finally accept another outfit?
