It's actually hard to find an online game that doesn't have at least a small community of players. As long as servers are up and running, that is. Consoles have a bigger issue with this since the servers often get shut down.
It doesn't but a hacked wii can play movies and do lots of other things. 6th and especially 7th gen consoles were great for that shit, especially the PSP.
Which streaming service is the Dreamcast of the current Streaming Wars? I say it's Max. Storied brand that bit off more than it can chew that will go broke and virtually dissapear.
An addon DVD player was planned if the console survived longer, a prototype shown off. The Dreamcast would've sat ontop of it similar to the Genesis and Sega CD addon
For as innovative as the VMU was, the Dreamcast controller was a horrible design, what were they thinking having the cable come out of the bottom, and they knew they fricked up with the design as they had the ridge built in to the top of the controller to fold the cable back
Yeah, it might have been able to compete with the PS2 if that was the case, though no EA was a big blow for the ability to sell it to average Joes. I had both but it's really a shame it died so quickly. Strange to think it was discontinued only just a year after release. I swear I was getting new games for it for years.
I bought mine launch day. My dad took me to get it before school and I bought it along with three games. I wouldn't say it had a few games, it felt like it had a good library and from memory the console had a huge attach rate. Anyone that owned one bought a lot of games, just not enough people owned one. The PS2 killed it. Way too many people were opting to wait for a PS2 even when there were shortages. I think the DVD player was the clincher because the PS2 launch titles were shit. I didn't get a PS2 until GTA and MGS2 were released.
me and my brother had the VGA cables so we were able to stick our Dreamcast on our higher resolution computer monitor. Our PC already had a DVD player so it wasn't much of a complain for us. We eventualy got the PS2 also and hooked that up to our regular TV
The same kid who pulled his pants all the way down to his ankles to take a piss is the same kid who was obsessed with Sega and had a Saturn/Dreamcast while the rest of us were rocking Playstation/N64
then it would've looked normie like the ps2 and xbawks
What movies would you have watched on your Dreamcast?
I used to watch Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky on some weird Dreamcast optimized MPEG-2 video cd
Great movie and highly memeable, don't see it mentioned here very often
Son of the Mask
city slickers 2: the search for curly’s gold
Problem Child 2
Tenet
Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might
Nice
Titan AE

Back in the day I traded my PS2 for my friend's Dreamcast for a couple of months. He barely played anything and I played House of the Dead every day.

>tfw there's STILL people playing online matches on their Dreamcast

Pretty sure it played Video CDs.

Nah. Max is good, it's the only streaming service I still sub to. Paramount+ is more in line with what you said.

This wouldn't have sold a single unit to anyone other than absolutely obsessive brand loyalists.
I'd buy one today. It would probably be the only DVD player with native VGA output

the vmu lasted 2 weeks and i never bought a new battery. i never really noticed the cable came from the front, i never had a problem with it.
Power Stone 1 and 2
What's the best DC emulator?
>has a remote
>will not play DVDs
what were they thinking, it's like they're taunting you.
it actually does if you hack it
It rips the dvd and plays the rip on an emulator.
The original Xbox had a DVD player but it couldn't play movies unless you bought a special remote.
No shit, the dvd player is the entire reason for 100 million of the PS2s sales.
My ps2 I got for christmas was the only dvd player in my house for at least a year
I still have my wii plugged in. What dream cast games should I get for it?
Such a good game

they slashed the shit out of the price to like 100 bucks, that's when i got one. great console for multiplayer even with the few games it had.

It's really easy saying that now but back then it would have been a big gamble.
Sony took the risk because they were one of the developers of the technology. And for Xbox, Microsoft had the money.

When are they going to make a Space Channel 5 kino

>that kid who said there'd be a dreamcast 2 and never provided any evidence
Fishing kino when?
i wanted one so bad when i saw it reviewed on the big breakfast/arvo
Why were the japanese commercials just a middle aged business man getting bullied by children and injured in accidents?
