Judge writes about social power dynamics, those are very important to Asians.

you spend way too much online, you're so out of touch with reality. the average person doesn't give a shit about race, ethnicity nationality or even religion when it comes to media or entertainment. there are palestinian and arab shows popular with israelis and there are israeli shows popular with palestinians and arabs. find some purpose in your life, something outside of Cinemaphile and twitter, and you'll very quickly realize how irrelvant all this garbage you obsess over is.

      >Palestinian and Israel
      This isn't about fricking politics
it's about somehow an entire race of people just born to love some obscure show from the other fricking side of the world

it's not obscure and it's not "on the other fricking side of the world". television has been around for decades now and america has exported its media ever since pretty much, villages all across poor parts in africa regularly watch english and italian football, they have other media you would find obscure that they regularly digest. get some fresh air please.

SOL about neurotic middle aged men isn’t a thing in Asia. So KOTH spoke to an untapped demographic.

Spiderman inspired an entire genre in East asian media

You sound delusional. I've talked with a japanese guy and he had no idea about most of adult swim's shows. There is a gacha in japan about anything, even about things that were popular for 1 week and then faded away. Unless you can show me a statistic you are talking out of your ass.

If that's your source then you are a idiot. If a few people don't know about doesn't mean shit. Hell I've met a 40 something year old who didn't know the Simpsons. Does that mean Simpsons isn't popular in America?

My Korean girlfriend, who immigrated to Dallas, loves this show. Kahn, Min, and Kahnny are accurate representations of Asian Americans in the South during the 90s-2000s. Maybe theyre a bit overly smug but they are still well liked characters.

God I hope they dont screw up the reboot. Watching the Clone High reboot doesn't give me hope. I haven't watched the Beavis and Butthead reboot so maybe Mike Judge is still a sharp writer. Kahn will definitely have a different voice actor though.

Well if the Beavis and Butt-Head reboot is anything to go by then in my opinion the Koth reboot should be fine. I'm really enjoying the BB reboot

I'll give it a watch then. I tried watching Silicon valley and it kind of petered out for me. I did like Season 1 though.

Never watched Silicon Valley so I can't give a opinion on that. (did Mike Judge work on that?)

Now admittedly I've seen a few people not like the new seasons but I think that might be from people who believe "not original, must be crap!" view point. But personally I believe every new season of Beavis and Butt-Head was better then the last.

I believe Judge has stated in the past he doesn't agree with recasting voices because of race bullshit. I think Kahn might not be returning at all, which is a damn shame.

The show portrays the experience of south east asian immigrants pretty well. It does it without being weirdly preachy about it too, which seems like an incredible achievement given today's media.

The op was talking about east asians not american immigrants.

Immigrant characters in foreign media actually appeal a lot to the native demographic, because they provide a look into foreign culture from their point of view. Even though the audience aren't American immigrants themselves, it still provides a "self insert" appeal as they imagine what it would be like in that situation.
