Jensen Ackles is the only reason I watched S3.
The things I would let that man to do to me.

Unless you are literally Jensen, frick off.
Do you think he'd call me a dirty little f-
In current year, being mean is a worse crime than looting, murder, and pedophilia.
He almost beat Black Noir too death because he spoke up against him
Black Noir wasn't a good person.
>Soldier Boy almost killed Homelander
>Butcher let his cuckoldry fetish get in the way
>Man Milker screams "muh wacism" and nigs out
Soldier Boy is literally the only hero in the show. I don't mean a homosexual superhero, but an actual hero.
Yeah the racism thing was odd, like we never really see him do much or anything racist outside of just being a literal man from a different age.
Ummm. That doesn't mean its okay?
Is it really so bad that he wanted the sauce with a funny asian name?
Yes. I bet you cried when they torched that statue of the racist traitor Robert E Lee.
Why would I give a shit about that, I ain't from the south. Really odd thing to bring up unprompted anon, maybe don't let dead white guys live in your head rent free.
McClellan was way more racist than Lee
Lee freed more slaves than Abraham Lincoln.
Literally how?
Lee freed his own slaves.
Abraham Lincoln freed not a one.
>but the proclamation
Freed them in the South which he had no control over in 1863 and he sure as shit wasn't freeing any in the North.
>historical fan fiction
Man, you were really hanging on to that one weren’t you reb?
You haven't disproven him.
>absolute basic knowledge is "fan fiction"
pls keep insulting other's intelligence while clearing lacking your own, THAT'S how you get more learned!
'E'S MY WOIFE'S SAHN
That line was when I realized that the writing room for this show must unironically have multiple Cinemaphileners in it. It was way too on the nose. I'd never heard that line before, with that exact phrasing, outside of Cinemaphile, /misc/, and Cinemaphile. But it was that phrasing EXACTLY. Somebody in the writing room knew our lingo a little too well.
>homosexual superhero

What's wrong, anon?
Discovered the flaw in The Boys?
The one comics readers have been aware of since the beginning, but which was obscured by the adaptation?
Boo hoo hoo.
The Boys tv show blows the comic out of the water. The whole gaslighting Homelander into thinking he's a kid eating cannibal is fricking moronic.
they accidentally made him too likable and reasonable and theres basically no point in keeping home lander alive when he offers to kill him. hes far easier to get along with and is alot safer. He was a perfect solution to homelander and they wrote themselves into a corner and had to write him off
I sometime wonder what exactly the showrunners wanted the public to feel about him, they made him too likeable for them to have us hating him right ?
>expresses drunk remorse for people he killed
>swears he didn't mean to hurt anyone when he exploded the building
>let hughie evacuate the mansion at herogasm
>tried to uphold his end of the deal the second he saw homelander
>doesn't flatten mother's milk when butcher asks him not to
>has the audacity to expect butcher will follow through on his own plan
>doesn't betray anybody
>most racist thing he does is compliment bill cosby
Legit, how was the audience supposed to think he is worse than Homelander? It was the worst case of "tell, don't show" I've ever seen.
He exploded because he freaked out seeing gays! And we're told he was mean to Black Noire and MM's family!
Hes badass
test
>Soldier Boy dindu nuffin
He beat his meat into the cup
>the boys comic was to edgy but did some fun parodies of dc and marvel heroes
>the show does parodies of celebrities I don't give two shits about mixed with some surface level hero lore
The boys comic is better and I am tired of people saying its worse
They're both bad.
Invincible sucks too.
Everything sucks.
Invincible>the boys
>The boys comic is better and I am tired of people saying its worse
This, both The Boys and Invincible. I'm so sick of people who either straight up didn't read the comics or speed read them and obviously didn't pay any fricking attention acting like the shows are so much better and "fixed" the source material by just changing a bunch of shit to the point of being unrecognizable and actively removing any and all of the themes present in the original.
Honestly, what does the comic do better?
The Boys? Well it has a fricking point for one thing.
This scene alone had a lot more relevance than literally anything ennis put to paper on this IP

Very fake
Very gay
The point it is trying to make is weakened by the very premise. superheroes are shit and ruined the industry? lets add another story to the pile. hell if anything it makes a point that deconstructing superhero fiction only makes it worse as a whole.
You didn't understand the comic, it's not about superheroes.
That all you got anon? I genuinely expected a better argument.
Characters, especially the character dynamics between the boys themselves
Social commentary, specifically the depiction of celebrity hero worship and all the military industrial war profiteering stuff
It's actually funny from time to time
The show does pretty much none of this and instead leans hard into inconsequential shit like rainbow capitalism and "muh everyone I don't like is Trump" derangement like every fricking piece of media made for the last like 8 years
>but did some fun parodies of dc and marvel heroes
>What if everyone was a piece of shit
That's a funny parody?
The show has flash, is superficially more mature, and has one great character in Antony Starr's Homelander. But it's got a horribly unsubtle and hamfisted agenda that pervades almost every level of the show, no interesting characters save Homelander, and a poorly drawn-out plot because Amazon realised the show is their only success with Prime and want to milk it for as long as possible before they have to reach the final season and finally turn Homelander loose like they've been edging towards since S1 (AKA the only good season).
In terms of actual writing, plot/character development, and having a good cast, the comics, as flawed and Ennis-y as they are, are still better than the show. It's fundamentally far more competent and impactful in the end, even if it's covered up with Ennis's usual wankery
So how does Garth "I hate Captain America" Ennis feel about how the show took his pee pants "take that, Steve Rogers" and made him a compentent badass?
Follow up: why does Ennis ignore people when they inform him that Cap was created by enlisted men and the soldiers loved him?
I’m sure he’s wiping away his tears with his thousands of dollars.
For real though, I doubt he gives a shit about the TV show beyond it making him bank.
That's fair and that's what I would do if I were him.
What is his issue with Steve?
He's not a propah 'ard lard in a trench coat with no conscience who just kills men like a psychopath oi wat, roit.
Also frick the IRA
He's a Pat Mills fanboy. Pat Mills fricking hated Superheroes, despite writing Judge Dredd like one.
Garth doesn't quite hate Superheroes, but he likes poking fun at them and really kind of hates the stupid edgy shit the big two were getting up to at the time to pander to the edgelord crowd.
The big blarney with Soldier Boy is the idea that he was disrespectful to vets of actual wars, somehow. In Universe, I assume Soldier Boy is about as much a Soldier as he is Soldering Iron, so that could be the matter.
I think the issue with Solider Boy is that they made him far too likable and weren't as overt with his more dubious beliefs. Because the show does hint at him being used by the government to fight against black protestors, but it's such a blink and you'll miss it thing that most people didn't even notice.
And while it is clear that he's still a huge butthole, them making the rest of his team being a bunch of a-holes made it hard to really sympathize with them, so when he does kill them, it's hard to feel that bad.
>fight against black protestors,
Never forget the Summer of Love 2020.
Choice of actor didn't help, man was too charismatic for his own good.
Agreed, jeez, I would let that guy rob me, in fact I would give him the key to my bank account.
I wonder what his role is next season
I thought he was going to do the new show where John Winchester is playing Not Iron Man
that character recently appeared on Gen V (the spinoff) and he was just a Sherlock Holmes parody. didn't have the armor or anything. so I have no idea who Jeffrey Dean Morgan is playing in season 4.
He was a drunk and a druggie who was abusive towards his teammates. So abusive they all turned on him the first chance they got
season 1
>hughie lad, sorry about ur dead bird. now join me to take down OMELANDAH
season 2
>wee hughie. ok *THIS* time we are gonna get that prick HOMELANDA and 'is new tart
season 3
>ok hooghie, last time we messed up but this time we can KILL OAMLENDAH with a SECRET WEAPON and we can also give ourselves brain cancer to FINALLY take that c**t DAHN
season 4
>ooie, sorry about havin an unprecedented last minute change of heart and NOT takin down omhmlandr. but THIS time we will get him
>season 5
???
Gen V ended and lead up to Season 4. Gen V is confirmed to have a season 2 for sure airing after season 4 of the boys and before season 5

It says something when the best characters are the "antagonists".
Not really, that's a frequent situation in a lot of much better media. It's a pretty common observation in general for almost every kind of media.
