Well it's okay, not bad, I enjoyed the first two seasons and I praise the action, the comedy and the backstory of the characters, but the biggest fault is that it just feel fine.
There's Hand drawn animation bits which work really well, and makes you wonder, Why isn't this the whole show.
People don't actually like western cartoons. They begrudgingly put up with them. My Dad the Bounty Hunter needed to do way more to stand out, but it just couldn't cut it.
That's the sad thing about original cartoons. They have to put in extra effort to be considered "worth watching," whereas any new live-action series can pull people in by having a popular celebrity in a lead role.
I think it might have done better if it aired on proper T.V, Maybe not, but I think the idea of having a dad go on various different missions with the kids at first then building up to a large season one finale where they fight against the corporation would have been fun.
It's a shame, it's not the greatest show, but I get the feeling that everyone, Animator, Cast, Writers put effort into it, Heck Space Wakanda is pretty much a rip off, but there were a lot of elements that went into it that shows they at least tried to do something interesting.
>nobody even cares about half of the animated shows on netflix
Shame. Wish we could have threads like these for more obscure shows more often but Cinemaphile only cares about stuff that's either popular or stars underaged girls
It turns out that taking out loans to make media pandering to 2% of the population according to the tastes and values of an entirely separate demographic isn't profitable. Especially when that 2% of the population has their own very specific media interests and tastes.
This was a perfectly serviceable cartoon, but it was a legit black-focused show released among a relative glut of virtue-signalling woke content. I'm reminded of that one animator who complained about fake woke shows taking the oxygen away from everyone else. This seems to be a victim of that.
Visually, it's also antiquated. You can thank Spiderman and Arcane for that. 3D needs to move on from this look. It's only good for kiddy shows now. Frankly, if it had been completely 2D like the short flashback segments, it would have stood out a lot more.
The world building is pretty good, and there's an actual defined magic system
There's actual deaths, which I always appreciate in a kids show
Daniel's a bit of a c**t, and he's also the most competent person on the show even though the black girlboss treats him like he isn't and relies on him more than he needs her.
I agree not a bad show but I got bored mid way through the first season and just fell off. The threats and action are toothless. If the show was about the dad it would have been something special.
This. I almost tapped out by the second Chillions episode. It’s nice of them to try and make things cinematic, but the stakes just did not excite me one bit. At least not unless it involved the dad’s bounty hunting.
Why didn't this blow up in popularity?

The limited TV-budget CG animation and heavy focus on the two main kids makes it feel too juvenile.
Also Netflix is terrible at marketing.
Eh, I think they did the best with what they had.
The CGI was really good for a TV show though
Which episode of Primal is this?
What studio did the 2D sequences?
Titmouse I think
God bless Chris Prynoski
cute granny
Sexy gilf
Real black kids can't relate to the show
There are dozens of animated shows on Netflix that nobody talks about.
Shame really, there's like a dozen anime's which are worse but will still get attention from western viewers because it's an anime.

Nobody really cares about anime. They like the medium but the actual shows are disposable and replaced.
>we want the baragay audience
Too childish for adults.
Not enough crude humor for kids. Aside from pic related, but it did seem more like fanservice.
60% of the target audience in the U.S. can't relate to the first two words of the title.
'My' and 'the'?
Character designs aren’t memorable and nobody even cares about half of the animated shows on netflix.
>and nobody even cares about half of the animated shows on netflix.
It's TRUEEE

Still did better than Young Love. That might be the most neglected new cartoon of the year
… what happened?

What the actual frick are you on about?
Bingo. There's a reason why everything Tyler Perry makes is the most generic and bland crap imaginable.
Season 2 with its Space Wakanda is hilarious
The Tiger prince is even named B'Caala
Test

This and Daniel Spellbound were surprisingly good
Shame we don't talk about them more
>Daniel Spellbound
How good is it?

Animal sidekick isn't too annoying

I want to frick the mom so hard
Basado
Cannot stress enough how badly this needed to be 2D.
More moms should wear tight-fitting pants like that
Hard agree.
Good taste
before I click open I thought somehow Mars needs Moms got a sequal.
Holy crap so many unironic baby show watchers here
