It had Shrek during a mid-life crisis going back to his roots blinded by nostalgia before coming to realize that he threw away everyone and everything he grew to care about with a villain that outright won setting the stakes higher than ever before. In a meta sense, the film was about how Shrek as a franchise was growing stale and lost its edge that made it a hit in the first place. It capped off Shrek's arc from a loner who had nothing to a hero who had everything and was finally satisified.
>how Fiona is the character Shrek loves in some capacity like impressing her family
That gave us insight on Fiona's backstory and meeting the parents is something a couple will have to go through at some point. >rediscovering their love in an alternate reality
They don't just rediscover their love. You complained about Fiona not getting to do much, but she leads The Ogre Resistance. >would prefer a soft reboot where Fiona and the babies simply don't exist and don't call attention to it. Simply create hijinks and funny fairy tale stories.
So you want to undo Shrek's happy ending for more comedic value? You really did not get these movies.
>Be 16 > Arrive back from school to go to my room > Hear lots of banging from the door which sounds like someone jerking off > Open the door > Happy to see Shrek in my house > Shrek heads upstairs to the bathroom while farting in the tune of the Theme Song to Millie's Math House > Goes to my room a grabs my copy of Shrek Gag Book to read while taking a big dump > Reads it for half an hour and uses the last few pages to wipe his ass with it > Clogs the toilet but empties a whole carton of bleach to unclog, clean, get rid of the stench and to flush the toilet > Heads to the Kitchen to get something to eat > Finds Mud & Worms Cereal, Sara Lee Cheesecake and Gatorade > Roars them all into his mouth and then roars out the empty glass, plate and cereal bowl out of his mouth > Grabs me with his powerful ogre hands and takes me to the couch to watch TV commercials > Shrek and I watch TV commercials even though it doesn't make want us to buy the the products be we like watching them > My Dad pulls into the driveway > Shrek whispers to me "Its all ogre now" > Shrek then runs as fast as a racing car to my my windows and leaves though it without anyone noticing > My dad tells to do my homework until its bedtime > Shrek is love, Shrek is life
it more of a slight parody of those Greentext Stories that used be on Cinemaphile when the Shrek Is Love, Shrek Is Life meme was around also they're was so many greentext stories that I've found on Google search and said to myself "why didn't the guy who did those Shrek Is Love, Shrek Is Life videos also animate these stories?" like this one as it felt like it needed to be animated back then
Anon, I know what it is. Everyone does. That's why I said at least you stayed true to Shreks love to Fiona because they have Shrek having sex with anon.
also the references like the Mud & Worms Cereal which was a limited edition cereal that came out in in several countries to promote Shrek 2 (its still sold in some places), the Sara Lee Cheesecake is a reference to Supermariologan's videos in which Shrek likes eating said Cheesecake, them only watching TV commercials is a joke on how Kids do not know the difference between TV commercials, Movies, Youtube Videos and TV shows and Shrek farting the theme song of Millie's Math House which was an Educational PC game from the 90's that has a strange sounding theme song composed of Honking noises
>not one line about her wanting Charming to have a happily ever after, about her liking Fiona and wanting something better for her, or about what benefits for herself is she looking forward once Charming becomes king
Fairy Godmother sucked
Fairy Godmother is the type of parent who forces her kids to become celebrities. She acts like she's doing it for them, but we all know Fiona wouldn't match well with Charming and Fairy Godmother was doing it all for her own gain. This is what makes her a good villain. She's another great foil for the messages against vanity the franchise has.

Also the benefits are pretty obvious. She will be the mother of the King and already has complete control over his life. Charming is her puppet to rule with.
I would honestly feel more respect for Shrek 2 if it had mild swearing like Antz and Shrek 1. At least that would make the film be upfront about the audience is targeting, instead of trying to masquerade as a family film.
Why was Fiona planning to go outside with a briefcase in hand and try to find Shrek, wherever the hell he was, in the middle of that heavy rainstorm? Why not wait until the morning instead?
Money
You're not wrong, but they still put effort into Puss 2
Not worth it
Shrek's family life with adolescent ogres if they want to continue the timeline, but I think they're going with a reboot
>but I think they're going with a reboot
Then what was the point of The Last Wish taking place after Forever After?
Teens are so annoying in films, I hope not
>but I think they're going with a reboot
Shrek is now voiced by Chris Pratt.
He doesn't bother with the accent.
And Seth Rogen is Donkey.
Even though he is exactly the type to support it, Seth Rogen already broke the voice actor segregation once so he probably would.
The Rock as Shrek
Kevin Hart as Donkey
The Rock is Puss in Boots.
Shrek 4 didn't end or start anything. It was literally just a fakeout story that ends the same way how it starts

Nostalgia bait for 2000s kids, they probably will reference the memes.
Shrek uses the iPad to put people in his cringe compilation
They probably wouldve brought back smash mouth if he didnt die
They'll get a mumble rapper to sing it.
It could make DreamWorks shit tons of money... that's about it.
Counterpoint: The Last Wish
Puss spin-offs work because they focus on Puss with whole new casts
Shrek get iPad

The lines Shrek has at the end are some of my favorites in the whole series
I remembered cumming inside Donkey's mouth. Thanks for digging out my memories!
Shrek 5 is a remake of the first one
I don't think they would do that after Puss 2 referenced the older films and them happening heavily.
>end
no, you see, it's going to be a meta-reboot, like aknowledging that happen in some way but going to retell the story anyway
Shrek 5 is going to have time jannies to fix all the fable duplicates and other mistakes set off by Shrek undoing Rumpelstiltskin's deal.
So scream
>Be 16
> Arrive back from school to go to my room
> Hear lots of banging from the door which sounds like someone jerking off
> Open the door
> Happy to see Shrek in my house
> Shrek heads upstairs to the bathroom while farting in the tune of the Theme Song to Millie's Math House
> Goes to my room a grabs my copy of Shrek Gag Book to read while taking a big dump
> Reads it for half an hour and uses the last few pages to wipe his ass with it
> Clogs the toilet but empties a whole carton of bleach to unclog, clean, get rid of the stench and to flush the toilet
> Heads to the Kitchen to get something to eat
> Finds Mud & Worms Cereal, Sara Lee Cheesecake and Gatorade

> Grabs me with his powerful ogre hands and takes me to the couch to watch TV commercials

> Shrek whispers to me "Its all ogre now"

Anyone else think Shrek 1 is the best looking of the four films?
Forever After wasn't made by PDI like 1/2/3. It was made by the Glendale campus.
What's the over-under on Shrek 5 somehow being the best one?
Has the fifth (or later) installment of anything ever been the best?
I finally watched The Last Wish. The panic attack was mid.
Straight up
Everytime Death was on screen, I couldn't stop laughing or take him seriously because of when that was a meme.
They missed the mark with Fairy Godmother in 2. Worst character of the Shrek quadrilogy. Her model alone is pretty bad.
Sharktale lost.

Her character model is still awful and her foul personality is more annoying than it is entertaining.
Also the benefits are pretty obvious. She will be the mother of the King and already has complete control over his life. Charming is her puppet to rule with.
Whether you accept it or not, Shrek 2 is objectively the foulest of the Shrek films and one of the foulest Dreamworks films.
And that's why we love it.
Sharktalegay, what do you think of Big Jack Horner?
I would honestly feel more respect for Shrek 2 if it had mild swearing like Antz and Shrek 1. At least that would make the film be upfront about the audience is targeting, instead of trying to masquerade as a family film.
Shrek 2 teaches a better message of acceptance and love to kids than any crap they put on TV these days.
Whatever message it tries to send ends up getting overshadowed by all the foulness which the film has in spades.
You mean the jokes? Learn to laugh.
Why was Fiona planning to go outside with a briefcase in hand and try to find Shrek, wherever the hell he was, in the middle of that heavy rainstorm? Why not wait until the morning instead?
She was worried and just wanted to go home after everything that happened.

Do you think he'll come back for Shrek 5's advertising?
