Sideloading a Firestick

I bought a Firestick to sideload and access movies and TV without paying for services. People commonly refer to this as jailbreaking, but it's not.
I found a couple of shitty guides on YouTube but most of them stop at the point of loading Downloader onto the stick.
Any recommendations on apps to add and the best ways to configure things for maximal access to free TV and movies?

Stick a VPN app on there first.

Pay for IPTV and look into paying for something like Syncler paired with real debrid. Any app that is free is either going to be shit or riddled with ads.

you will want to use the neighbors' internet if streaming things you are not paying for(although some services are free and legit). I know there used to be a way with a VPN as well.

So paying for a VPN is necessary or your ISP will come for you?

If you're using IPTV, a lot of the IPTV ip addresses are known, so ISPs block them and the only way you can get it to work is with having a VPN running as well. If you're in a third world country like USA then you'll need a VPN regardless as they'll come after you for any sort of media piracy they detect.

          Shill your VPN elsewhere.

You do not need a VPN, but unforunately the free options will most likely shit. You will want to look into real debrid or something similar to use. You may be able to find free services, but they constantly go down so you'll be switching them around.

if you are planning on doing illegitimate things you should prepare. if you stream verboten content from verboten services you are at risk of your mum getting a fine and or letter from her ISP.

I plug my external drive into the USB port on the back of the TV and watch movies from there.

Most of these services are just scraping servers from "watch movie online" site and kinda suck.

aren't firesticks just internet browsers that you have to download bookmarks for?

My current set up is to just stream shit off of "watch movie online" sites on my laptop while it's connected to my TV via HDMI.
Is using a firestick any better? Sounds like I'll need a VPN if I use one which is a cost. I don't use a VPN now and I have no problems.

It's better than HDMI because you can use a remote from the couch. If people are over, it's much less embarrassing.
It has a browser that you can go on fmovies with anyway.
You can also put downloaded media onto the firestick and watch it that way.
If you are gonna "firestick hack", you probably will NOT need a VPN. I've never heard of this being common, maybe it's for specific ISPs in specific places.

that is a good way to get a letter, I bet most of the tutorials ever tell you the first thing you should do, whilst breaking the laws (for streaming) is to obfuscate your IP. now, since you keep telling people NOT to do this, i'd like to ask you why thy shouldn't, when they are in fact, doing something that can in fact, get you into trouble.

The same thing is true for torrenting, which is even serious because it involves uploading, not just downloading. And they still won't spend lawyer money on some guy downloading a movie unless he distributed massive amounts of copyrighted material. A letter is just a threat, you don't need to worry about it. Even if they tell you to pay a fine, nobody is gonna go after you to collect it, and it doesn't go on your record or anything like that.
            >i'd like to ask you why thy shouldn't, when they are in fact, doing something that can in fact, get you into trouble.
It's better to have a VPN, but it's not necessary. You should have one if it gives you peace of mind, and it does save you from the very slim chance that they actually try to go after you.

I don't store fricktons of media on a HD. That's why I want to stream shit on demand.

The ones I have keep drying up.

If that's the case then you don't need to bother, with a laptop you can have a full adblocked experience. I would switch to torrenting since you're using a computer anyway. Nowadays you can get a 4k movie in minutes, then you don't have to worry about buffering issues common among free streaming sites.

sure they will. I got letters for jethro fricking tull even behind a paid for VPN (goldenfrog/viper) years ago. made it known to everyone. and lol'd.

You have to find a DL link, they're all pretty much down now, you're talking like easy to break maybe 10 years ago, or longer. Easier to just torrent what you want than deal with that shit.
