Solar Opposites is the more consistent of the two because it feels so sure of itself. The writers don't take things too seriously and know how to have fun one-off adventures with their core cast instead of trying so hard to be "intellectual." It's just the pop culture namedrops that get annoying at times.
Nah it’s totally safe. Hulu still wants to invest in adult animation, and Solar Opposites is pretty much the only one in recent years to take off. It'll never be HUGE or anything, but it works well enough for them to coast off of in the meantime. I wouldn't be surprised if Hulu drops it once Futurama and King of the Hill are BOTH releasing new episodes.
It literally wouldn’t get greenlit if Roiland wasn’t attached. What’s the use for a quasi Rick and Morty spin-off if it can no longer be associated with it in any way?
It’s actually funny. Rick and Morty has some creative ideas and is always a visual feast, but I can't say it's very funny. Literally every one of the main aliens gets a laugh out of me per season because they're all so over-the-top. Solar Opposites RELISHES in being a stupid sci-fi cartoon. Rick and Morty thinks it's above it all despite still primarily being a crude comedy cartoon at the end of the day.
Well... yeah. He's a tree. Trees don't have dicks, except that one time he used a space machine to give himself two dicks and that other time he turned into a human for five months.
I love how the expanding resume they had going just shriveled up when Roiland got cancelled. Thank God for that. The last thing entertainment needs is another Matt Groening.
Easily the weakest of Cusack's cartoons. Outside of maybe a few funny lines, the humor just wasn't there. The streamlined art style was also just very boring overall. Best thing I can say about Koala Man is that it was surprisingly heartwarming for a modern adult animated sitcom. It's just too bad the characters were all forgettable. I'd still take it over more Hulurama tho, let a show REST for a change
Agreed. I grew up in a rural Australian town in the early 90's, this show was targeted right at me, and god damn was it boring. His shit doesn't work when trying to be family friendly.
I have only three questions:
1) does anyone here actually watch (and like) the show?
2) what's even the appeal
3) has the show gotten worse post-Roiland?
Good
Good. Another bad cartoon dead
On no, one less 6 second clip I see occasionally in youttube shorts between actual videos.
and nothing of value was lost
>renewed for a fifth season
no
That was in 2022...They might have axed it due to the downturn.
This is from August of this year, moron

>news from before the Disney acquisition
Not. Happening.
And nothing of value was lost.
Really like Solar. I should give Rick and Morty another shot but it was always so mean spirited.

Hulu no longer exists. It’s getting absorbed by Disney and folded into Disney+.
>King of the Hill
Wasn't that scrapped? Dale's VA passed away
Not officially but given (from what I've read) he was involved in the later seasons a fair bit so...
Yeah and no, there isn't a scheduled season but it ends on a cliffhanger, but more of a movie one than a season one
no it still isn't worth watching, even worse they added another Lana minus what made her a fun dynamic with Archer
whhoa
Archer is still going?
We get it you hate the show so stop making these false threads saying that it's been canceled but really it hasn't.
Unless you’re expecting some Christmas miracle, it didn’t get renewed this year.
>adult animated sitcom is a failure if it doesn't get renewed perpetually until the end of linear time
even if it did get cancelled after 4 seasons, that's a respectable run and it was a fine show.
>4 seasons
With less than two seasons worth of episodes.
>season 1: 8
>Season 2: 8
>season 3: 11
>season 4: 11
>3 holiday specials
Eh I mean 43 total is again, a fine run. 10 episode season is about average nowadays unless you're a network legacy-case.
>Roilandgays still coping.
The shows will go on without him.
Rick and Morty is too big to fail. This shit however relied solely on Roiland for relevance.
How?
It literally wouldn’t get greenlit if Roiland wasn’t attached. What’s the use for a quasi Rick and Morty spin-off if it can no longer be associated with it in any way?
I'm pretty sure Mike Mcmahan has enough repute now to keep the show afloat without Justin.
I think Mike McMahan is going to disappear from the industry without Roiland to piggyback off.
This is cope.
You will see.
Hollywood no longer has an appetite for lots of mediocre adult animation. The entire industry is contracting.
Yumyulack is best boi
Genuinely what does this have that I can’t already get from the pickle show?
Better pacing in the episodes, story arcs that are resolved in less time and are less moronic as result.

he has no dick
Well... yeah. He's a tree. Trees don't have dicks, except that one time he used a space machine to give himself two dicks and that other time he turned into a human for five months.
It'd be wild if the Valentine's Day special next year followed the Human Shlorpians, but I doubt it.
Same here

>The last thing entertainment needs is another Matt Groening.
It got it though.
Literally never heard of that third one
Smiling Friends is the only one of those still standing. Cusack is no animation giant
Quit making shit up guys, we would have definitively heard by now if SO was canned.
They're all still going
I know the Solar Opposites doomers are just stirring shit up, but there is NO WAY Koala Man is still going lol
when is season 2
Koalaman was dogshit.

They should've emphasized more that the mom is SHIV FRICKING ROY
Agreed. I grew up in a rural Australian town in the early 90's, this show was targeted right at me, and god damn was it boring. His shit doesn't work when trying to be family friendly.
No surprise.
Meh, stopped giving a shit when they dropped Justin. Even The Wall was getting moronic. (Shoulda been Tim vs. Cherie epic showdown.)
The only good scene was the silhouette cowgirl sex.
episode and timestamp??
I have only three questions:
1) does anyone here actually watch (and like) the show?

The show needed WAY MORE facetime for PATRICIA than only 2 eps.
