Since it’ll be a while before the DC trinity (and the Joker) become public domain, what are some already public domain characters you can use instead?

why does it feel like jjkgays only have 3 jokes and nothing else?
The man who laughs is in the public domain.
https://pdsh.fandom.com/wiki/Funnyman
He looks like a gay and his shit’s all moronic.
what did funnyman do to you
>t. Guy who got glove punched
This guy is just begging for a dry humored millenial targeted adult cartoon.
black cat (from harvey comics)
He Who Brings Light is in the public domain if you guys are interested. Even Iron Liz jumped on it the great Iron Liz.
Jesus
Tim
Is Flash Gordon in the public domain?
No
I remember reading somewhere that the Charlton characters are already public domain.
DC Comics still has the trademark on a lot of things, however.
>using trademarks to effectively keep a character out of the public domain is illegal
>however we live in a world of rule of lawyers instead of rule of law, so Disney/WB are gonna make your life miserable with court cases and all kinds of loopholes, so you better not even try
Personally I believe people seethe too much about IP laws when it comes to fiction, since you can always just create your expies if you want, and they're gonna be more suitable to the story you want to write anyway, but it's still pretty dystopian.
Now we wait for canon stories where Batman rapes the Joker.
I was thinking... what's the situation of characters in original tax write-off shows?
Catwoman also 2036
Robin 2035.
I believe Alfred is 2040
>DC loses Batman and all his major supporting characters
>Superman
>and Wonder Woman
>All within a decade
do they have a plan for when this happens?
Same as Disney. Use trademark to force an effective copyright, update the characters so they own the latest and greatest versions, and branding to ensure the public knows which comics are the "official" ones and not knock-offs.
>and branding to ensure the public knows which comics are the "official" ones and not knock-offs.
you think we might see a updated version of this DC banner then
>DC - Home of Superman's gay son
Some people will try and make comics but it will all fall apart quickly when they realise they can't really use anything people actually like
DC will come out and say you can only use the racist bodybuilder Superman who can jump over buildings, and not the real Kryptonian Superman. Just like how the "original" Mickey Mouse was a horrible animal abusing racist the very same day he hit public domain even though Disney never once pushed that image of him, but now is pearl clutching the image of the Saint Mouse so they can maintain the brand for another few years.
>Muh racism
kys already.
Mother fricker I didn't say shit. Disney is the one complaining about it and I'm sure DC will too. You have the reading comprehension skills of a 5th grader.
What happened to fan films? they use to be the biggest thing in early days of video. Are companies really that bad about this stuff now people are waiting for public domain?
Linkara actually released his Lightbringer webcomic into the public domain back in 2013.
