Used to be an angel. Also Frollo is in the wrong, putting the blame on everyone but himself.

He is right. God made the Devil, who is infinitely more powerful than a single person, therefore it is both God and Devil's fault for man falling to temptation. It's a numbers game, some are destined to fail. Might as well score some prime gypsy pussy while you're condemned.

no way that old virgin would know what to do, Frollo should be submissive and breedable (despite his best attempts not to be)

Hades, Jaffar and Frollo were my favorite male Disney antagonists. I miss charismatic Disney villains. Does the cgi shit they make nowadays even have villains or is anybody with killing intent too dark for modern all ages media?

Clayton always felt like some Osamu Tezuka villain to me. I mean this in a good way. It's probably his design and behavior.

It's really more a song about him arguing with himself about his own desires, coming to terms with it, and building the conviction to act on it. He openly blames Esmerelda, the Devil, and even GOD, while his subconscious argues "mea culpa."

We're talking about a man that had his head far up his own ass for decades prior to feeling his dick tingle.

I like villains like him because they are guys that turn evil because they try too hard to be good.
This isn't nearly as much of a common thing as it should be. I prefer it over villains that were always evil for the sake of it and those that turn evil because of the obligatory tragic past. I also like good leaders that slowly radicalize because the enemy keeps attacking and killing his people or because his own people won't stop fighting, being corrupt or opposing any sort of rational order.

no kidding. every time any media tries "relatable villians" they still end up "always evil" or something along those lines, rarely ever genuinely trying to be good.

Me too, and I liked Emperor Belos for that reason. Even if it's bullshit, most people who are evil are at least justifying it pretty damn hard to themselves. Even Tony Soprano type has "family" and "tradition" reasons shit no matter how many people they kill and torture in cold blood. When they say they want to be evil just to be evil, it usually seems childish, like something written for preschoolers only. Frollo is as evil as they come, simple as, but he thinks he's the most righteous, and that tracks. At the very least, having some reason or self gain that makes sense to the character holds villains together.

I don't think that's an accurate way to describe Frollo. I don't think he tries too hard to do good and dips into 'ends justify the means' territory, rather he seeks revels in evil acts but justified them with a faux sense doing it for the greater good. Basically the inverse of setting out to do good and doing evil acts along the way, he commits evil first and then justifies those actions being part of some divine plan afterwards.
