Ezra and Sabine would have been dead had Baylon decided to fight instead of doing nothing while waiting for Ahsoka. And in light of that, he's still on schedule to ditch the galaxy that they've been trapped in for a decade.

Ezra used the Ghost to transmit a signal on Frequency Zero to call the space whales to Lothal in the Rebels S4 finale to frick up Thrawn so they could either do that again with Ahsoka's ship or just wait for as long as needed for more space whales to show up there and use the force to ask them to take them away since they are suggested to show up at that planet often.

Look up Frequency Zero. It was a literal plot device created for the Rebels S4 finale. And Nightsister Morgan already confirmed Nightsisters used space whales to travel from their galaxy to the star wars galaxy extremely often.

                >just wait for as long as needed for more space whales to show up there and use the force to ask them to take them away since they are suggested to show up at that planet often.
Why didn't Ezra already do this?

Technically, more like, back then at Lothal, why didn't Ezra just leave the Star Destroyer and let the space whales kill Thrawn when he was caught in their tentacle shit back then? To create this forced plotline for Ahsoka apparently.
But to actually answer you question, it's because he didn't have access to a ship anymore. Simply entering the mouth of a space whale alone wouldn't be wise.

That's a good idea for a satirical comedy. Write a story from the perspective of a powerful genius emperor. A group of plucky misfits fights against him, and keep winning against all odds. He realizes that they're protagonists, then spends the rest of the story trying to come up with ways to get around their plot armor.

Can you imagine if it turned out that Ezra was dead? There's all this motivation to find Ezra, they get there, Thrawn lets Sabine go off on a wild goose chase, then it's discovered that Ezra was killed by Thrawn years ago.

Think of what that would accomplish.
        Shock.
Introducing Thrawn that makes him seem truly villanous. Both ruthless and manipulative.
It would actually make it seem like "wasting their time" was his plan, not a cope after he failed to kill them.

Ezra hasn't been a character worth watching anyways, so there's no loss.

But that would take some actual balls.

You are correct that this would make for a better story.
Also cutting all the Hera scenes and making Sabine unable to use the force at all so she has to rely on her wits to survive.
Unfortunately good storytelling by tasteful and intelligent creatives is impossible these days, at least on any Disney production, such that even these creative exercises for improving on it are a waste of time.
The best thing to do is ignore every thread about this show as most of them are kept rolling by marketing shills anyway.

Uhm but Sabine is a powerful woman, she’s a rebel who is an artist but also real smart and great with tech and she’s also a mandalorian so a great warrior plus a Jedi on top of that so she’s a great role model for all the girl bosses who watch Star Wars.

Filoni and his wife are both feminists, the wife believes in witch crap like Amber Heard. It's supposed to look like Thrawn is using the witches, but as it will turn out the witches are using him for some grand plot. The witches will be scheming to make the force more female or something cringe like that (not literally but we might as well make that joke). The real purpose is so Disney can do different stuff without the ""fans"" shitting themselves about how things are not supposed to work this or that way. Witches molesting the force = Disney can move further away from George head canon. Of course it won't actually work out like they hope and it will just kill the franchise even faster.

And the same is true for Ahsoka, albeit to a lesser degree, especially because of its burden having a female protagonist.

This is intentional. The ameriisraelite media never wants to portray a smart person accurately. They're always objects of ridicule or a nerfed caricature.

Have you noticed the "tactical genius" archetype doesn't exist in the entirety of hollywood media? Japan can write a character like Lelouch or Light but america will never ever do it.

Kinda, but he was still miles better in the books. In the original Thrawn trilogy, the plucky protagonists slip through his fingers and pull unlikely victories off quite a bit. But they have to work really hard for it. And the brilliance of Thrawn's plans is still apparent, and they almost always work when not interfered with by people with plot armor.

In Ashoka, so far, he's done nothing especially smart. Nothing he tries to do works out as planned. And it requires no extraordinary effort on the parts of the heroes. Then he just says that it doesn't matter.

      he's a furry

      >here are ezras known coordinates
why didn't he try to kill him during those 10 years?

Because they're actually working together ever since their hyperspace jump all those years ago
God, I fricking wish we got that instead of this. Anons had tons of theories about Ezra teaming up with Thrawn because of something in the outer regions or just to survive, which leads into them actually being friends.

It really would have been something if they'd overcome some crazy fricked up threats together and then Ahsoka offering them a chance to return basically shatters their friendship as their old allegiances suddenly matter again. As it is I'm not sure what the frick they've been doing in this other galaxy for ten years, apparently after the end of Rebels Thrawn just dumped Ezra down on the planet to play bumper cars with the turtle people while he had orgies with the nightsisters and wrote love letters to Pallaeon he won't ever send.

Does this show worth the watch?
I saw some clips on YouTube and it looked alright, I liked Grand Moff Elon Musk and his troopers, I liked seeing Titus Pullo.

But then I watched the first episode and it was a slog. Just a bunch of strong women and bad pacing. A few good scenes but God damn.

there's a sith type character with a hot apprentice, they're both pretty cool but their motives are ill defined. the rest of the show is boring

I think it would be quite confusing for someone who hasn’t seen Rebels or Clone Wars but it’s alright. Better than Boba, Obi Wan and Mando season 3, maybe about on par with Mando season 1 and 2. It’s just throwing so much shit though that’s like oh you didn’t watch two animated shows, read all the comics, play all the games frick you.

Not even that, it's like every time something doesn't work he just says some nonsense in a smooth voice and we're just supposed to accept that he wanted that. It's less like watching a master strategist and more like that one middle manager everyone works for who can't admit a mistake.
      >commander Thrawn sir the toilet in your quarters is clogged
      >Is it? You see one thing I have learned about Ahsoka Tano is that she will always go to the source of the threat
      >she will go to my quarters, and I won't be there
      >As Anakin Skywalker taught her, she will have thoroughly hydrated before the mission, she will need to relieve herself.
      >She will open the door to the lavatory in my quarters and find it... inoperable.

I’m not watching this show but what exactly is his plan? To conquer the New Republic? Don’t we already know that he ultimately fails because they are still around in TFA? Doesn’t it also speak to his incompetence that the First Order were able to topple them with relative ease and he wasn’t? Or will this new show create an excuse for why the New Republic was weakened in TFA, retroactively making it more palatable?

It picks up from 4 onward, but the time wasting in the first 3 episodes means that they don't have enough episodes to tell a proper story, there is a bunch of stuff that COULD have been interesting if developed properly, but now they have just one episode to finish it all.

        >It's just a cartoon. Feloni cant actually make kino.
This is the major problem. He still writes as though he has a 24 episode season of a cartoon.
You can't just have characters speak in 5 word sentences and fail to advance the plot for an 8 episode mini series.

          >He still writes as though he has a 24 episode season of a cartoon
this is exactly right. He also does this thing where he tries to make it like the prequels, and not in a good way. That sequence in the other episode where her and Ezra were riding those bug things was so much like a walk and talk from the prequels and was so boring and unimaginative. It pisses me off because if I had the power that Dave has I would be putting my heart and soul into making it the kino that star wars deserves.

Have you ever heard of contingency plans? That's Thrawn's specialty. His goal is not to kill them, though that would be convenient, it is simply to GTFO. Any result that keeps the Jedi away from him while he leaves is a win.

      >Haha, I justed wanted to buy time. So why did I flush her out, forcing her into action? Umm...because...I JUST DID OK!
