Based on the solicit I can see how Transformers might be involved, but how are they gonna work GI Joe in?
IDW already has them share universes, with the Joes treating the Cybertronians as alien invaders and exploring the human's perspective on the two warring sides bringing collateral to Earth.
They'll probably just do something like that.
Right, but the Void Rivals solicit is about aliens on a planet far from earth. No place for GI Joe to fit in.
>Has anybody posted about this here yet?
There was a thread a few hours ago but it just died without much discussion
Anyways, I'm just crossing fingers for no fujo pandering
I'm crossing fingers for fujo pandering >:)
There's a TFW2005 rumor that DWJ told someone at a party he's doing a miniseries to segway into this new canon
Yeah, "Void Rivals" apparently.
No, a separate mini about Transformers
He's not doing the art on Void Rivals itself
That mini starts next week, and there's been zero promotion of it having anything to do with Transformers or GI Joe until these rumors. If they wanted to actually sell the book, they haven't left retailers much time to order more copies. Copies they'll be stuck with if the rumor turns out to be false.
If you're gonna do a Transformers & GI Joe book, put them in the title so people know it's coming, don't make it a shock reveal at the end of an #1 nobody even ordered.
Its not false. Comic shops were told ahead of time to slyly say to fans of TF and Joe that "you'll like the end of this comic, trust us."
I guess I'm gonna have to trust some anon on Cinemaphile or risk missing out.
Bruh, Kirkman's comics sell more than Transformers
Even the stuff that hasn't been adapted like Fire Power and Oblivion Song performed better than Transformers comics released around the same time
>DWJ
Derrick Wyatt J?
>wyatt was brought back as a zombie to write transformers
Kirkman has gone too far.
>shared universe crap
Will skip on this. Thought they had learned their lesson.
Hasbro will keep making TF/Joe shared universes until the heat death of the universe, because they won't let Joe die.
Yeah and it's such a fricking moronic idea. If I want TF I want just TF, if I want Joe I want Joe. I don't want to read TF only to get Joe character being shoved into my face or vice versa.
Besides that most writers cannot even do one universe justice and these self-absorbed idiots think they could do it for multiple series at the same time.
Yeah but the IDW series that did share all went to shit. The good ones were the early comics and the few detached series later. The problem is that if they start with the bad part the majority might not give later series a chance. IDW's shared universe stuff happened at the end and almost everybody hated it, but since the other series happened before that it didn't hurt them.
Yes and it was never good. "Tradition" is irrelevant for quality writing. If anything forced rules make shit worse not better.
The IDW universe's problem was using properties nobody cares or have an actual audience in comics today and what limited audience there was got alienated by the drastic changes done
MASK and Visionaries are almost unrecognizable
ROM and Micronauts' appeal is mostly in the Marvel stuff Hasbro doesn't own
They straight up realized they somehow no longer owned Inhumanoids
Even GI Joe has an audience in comics despite it being nowhere near relevant for kids
That and the Sitterson fiasco, holy frick that was a trainwreck
I'm still convinced it only happened because Ryall wanted to do a ROM series
They started doing ROM first. Then someone off hand suggested "hey, what if GI Joe shows up in ROM?" and the whole universe idea springboarded from there.
>Yes and it was never good.
You clearly never read the Devil's Due or Scioli stuff. Some of the IDW1 stuff was good too.
Most IDWgays just ignored the rest of the Hasbro stuff just fine
Hell, MTMTEgays just ignore everything else Transformers related
Transformers crossing over with GI Joe is a staple of Transformers, dating back to both the original cartoon and original comics. In the comics, sharing a universe with GI Joe is how Bumblebee dies and Megatron is reborn. In the cartoon, one of the main human characters is the daughter of some Joes, and Cobra Commander shows up for an episode.
Transformers has crossed over with GI Joe in 1986, 1987, 1993, 1994, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
You think this is gonna outsell IDW and Dreamwave (remember, Dreamwave sold more on average)?
Part me of thinks it'll be designed where in the case that Skybound does lose the license Void Rivals could still continue as if nothing really important happened or at least is designed that way to be adapted without the Hasbro stuff
>You think this is gonna outsell IDW and Dreamwave (remember, Dreamwave sold more on average)?
Never ever. DW was a massive hit that blew everything else out of the water and the popular parts of IDW were still selling like hotcakes.
It will certainly sell better than the very late IDW series simply for being a fresh start from a new publisher, but will most likely decline hard and eventually level out at average sale numbers I guess (average for TF comics).
It of course depends on the quality of the story and art too. Would of course sell a few thousands more if it looks good and isn't generic. But considering that they are outright starting with shared universes doesn't give me any hope for that. The art is an even bigger problem than usually with series like TF since mechas are a whole different genre and way harder to draw well than humans. They better get Figueroa or someone else with actual TF experience in or else it has no chance to do well IMO.
>(remember, Dreamwave sold more on average)?
Dreamwave also wasn't paying its employees, it didn't make as much actual profit as you think.
IIRC it wasn't always that bad at DW, it was in the final year that they got into financial trouble and stopped paying their creative teams. It's why the later DW Transformers books haven't been reprinted since, because there are no records left on who actually got paid for their work. Most of the DW G1 comics from 2002-2003 have been reprinted since, and some of the Armada comics too, so presumably everyone who worked on them got paid.
>it didn't make as much actual profit as you think.
I wasn't talking about profit, I meant sales
Numbers you see on Comichron
Daniel Warren Johnson
Didn't they sell like 50k in their first years?
Though personally I rather like their later stuff, right when it got cancelled.
>Though personally I rather like their later stuff, right when it got cancelled.
That ongoing DW G1 book that Don was drawing was some great stuff.
Launched at 128k
https://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2002/2002-04.html
Yeah this is pretty fricking extreme. Though the boost first volumes from new publishers get is immense, but still. It was selling 60k for a good while IIRC and even years later it was still selling around 20k before it died thanks to that scammer.
>it didn't make as much actual profit as you think.
Say what you want about Pat Lee, accomplishing this a few years after the crash is impressive
I think you're underestimating "Transformers from the creator of Invincible and The Walking Dead" as the selling point.
Maybe. I honestly never liked WD and Invincible is good enough for a watch but nothing I would consider well written and I don't think I particularly liked any of its characters so it will probably not work for me.
>They better get Figueroa or someone else with actual TF experience in or else it has no chance to do well IMO.
Guido is our best bet for the series to look good. Other choice would be Milne but I hear his health went to shit so I don't think he can do an ongoing right now.
Yeah I am all in for Guido. I even think it's not just the art itself but his paneling too that people tend to underrate.
He is certainly the most conservative choice that poses the least risk. Milne would probably get even more people in but as you said I don't think he can work on an ongoing right now. Seems like his health is getting better but I believe that commissions and irregular doujinshi are better for him right now, a comic artist fulltime job is pure stress and horror. He would of course still provide some covers and maybe draw a single issue every now and then, but Guido is the better choice for the main artist. Guido is also good at drawing both, oldschool G1 style as well as drawing IDW designs.
I trust DWJ to deliver quality
He draws mecha fanart a lot of the time as a hobby
Don's still miffed over the stealth bomber controversy
Kirkman had a call with retailers to get them to hype up Void Rivals and told them not to spoil the surprise
Frankly, I'm more interested to see if they have reprint rights. I want the rest of the UK Classics, dammit.
And Gen 2.
It has been rumored pretty much ever since IDW lost the licenses. Me personal I'm hoping for some GI Joe compendiums come of this. Also Hama mentioned earlier this year he was working on more ARAH which is awesome. This is not gonna be as big a difference as people think
A gorillion years later and I am still mad they cancelled DW TF. Especially Megatron Origin shaped up to be something really cool and a prequel to other cool stuff to come but nah
Origin still came out, just in a tweaked form.
I'm gonna guess that they'll open up with TF and GI Joe, then they'll trickle in stuff like ROM and Micronauts.
I wouldn't be surprised if ROM is back at Marvel. They have reprint rights now, anyway.
>then they'll trickle in stuff like ROM and Micronauts.
Probably not
ROM and Micronauts are back at Marvel, this is going to be a TF/Joe/Kirkman's OCs only.
>ROM and Micronauts are back at Marvel,
We don't know if it's stuff beyond reprinting the old material
They technically don't even need ROM himself to use ideas that originate in his series like Hybrid
NTA, but okay, but we're missing the obvious question...
...what about GoBots...?
More than G.I. Joe, I want a shared universe attempt between TF and GoBots. Two similar, but completely different races of life (one is energy beings walking around in robot bodies, the other are cyborgs that have all but abandoned their organic heritage). I think there's potential for something really cool there.
Hasbro is still kinda weary about using them.
Nowhere near as weary as before, if that IDW mini and the GotG cameo were anything to go by.
>the GotG cameo
The what?
This wasn't done by parody law by the way
Gunn legit got the rights to use Cy-Kill from Hasbro themself
That's
fricking weird as shit
>...what about GoBots...?
They can use them and IIRC they're so assimilated into the Transformers IP that if you get the Transformers license you get them as well but Hasbro doesn't care for them because the actual toys belong to Bandai and everyone else (except Scioli) doesn't care because well, they're GoBots
I think it's been moreso a deal of them not 100% knowing who owns what in regards to the rights, but again, they seem to be way more confident today.
And yeah, but I dont think it's fair; GoBots has potential to be fun, it's not the series' fault that discussion of it has been irreparably damaged by autistic 80s nerds. At least, that's just what I think.
The GotG Holiday Special, there was a guy in front of the Hollywood Chinese Theater in extremely blatant Cykill cosplay, whom Drax kept trying to beat up because apparently "GoBots killed his cousin(? Some family member is the point, I forget)"
Tl;dr a shitty "haha lets beat up CyKill" joke 20 years too late, but this time it actually was very obviously CyKill and was named a GoBot, instead of it being an unrelated transformer with the name CyKill.
Neat. What's this from?
Scioli's GoBots
The IDW GoBots mini. This was the finale twist, but the ending actually was way more open-ended than this page alone lets on.
That book didn't have the right to be so good
damn optimus nice tiddies
Doesn't look bad IMO.
Not a huge fan of Kirkman's writing though, so I will probably only follow the storytimes on Cinemaphile first. Hope it's good though, regardless of whether it has Transformers or not. I need more space sci-fi.
This reminds me of how Infestation had elements of IDW original comics (the threat of the first Infestation even originates from one) but nobody really pays attention to that and only focus on the established brands "crossing over"
Sasuga licenseshitters
I read Infestation for CVO and ZvR.
I never really understood the infatuation with crossovers, I remember hating seeing it in cartoons a lot when I was a little kid. I like both, steak and sushi, but that doesn't make cold rice with raw meat is a good combination.
My guess is that maybe the connection will be something like "the two alien factions mentioned in the marketing for Void Rivals are actually an evolved, future version of the Autobot-Decepticon conflict."
So they're Action Masters?
Do you guys want anything from the IDW to appear in the future? What new do you want to see?
At this point, I want some G1 comics that take nothing at all from IDW1 or IDW2, and look more to Sunbow or Marvel for inspiration. Give it at least a decade and let people get nostalgic for the good parts of IDW rather than immediately revisiting things from it.
Between IDW, and the most recent cartoons, things are bad enough that I'll happily settle for "G1, but all the characters who were originally dudes are still dudes and nobody's gay unless it's the writer's OC".
Nobody male has been genderbent to female in IDW. moron.
Did you not read that properly?
>Between IDW, and the most recent cartoons
Arcee.
Incorrect.
IDW1 Slide was female while the original G1 was male.
IDW2 Nova Storm was female when the original G1 was male
Botbots is great highly recommend.
Wish they'd crossover with Action Man instead. Bootleg James Bond/Captain Scarlet hybrid would be more interesting than following a series of patriotic guerilly gun fricking burgers with a shitty foriegn policy
I really hope the new TF series will be more space oriented. Or generally Cybertron, preferably a Cybertron that is more than just gray rubble.
IDW2 was nothing but Cybertron
I know. I actually liked it. Whatever people might say about the writing, the worldbuilding was pretty fricking cool and I hope that it will somehow inspire future iterations one day.
Same. I don't care about the Autobot/Decepticon war, it's tired. I want crazy episodic space adventures, like Galaxy Force/Cybertron to an extent, and MTMTE. War stuff can still be there (and should, lets be real here), like with the Wreckers as an example, but I just don't want it to be all-encompassing. Also liked the political drama in RiD and IDW2, but again, I don't want that to be all that the comic is about, neither.
Yeah fricking this.
There are still more than enough good opportunities to write infighting or evil Megatron or something. But a fragmented wars, aliens and multiple factions are a much better concept than evil cons vs autobots.
It might be interesting to approach it as an actual war story. What's been done previously is more like fighting superhero teams
>It might be interesting to approach it as an actual war story.
That's what IDW2 was doing. Maybe it would be awesome and draw more people in with a different type of writing.
I justt want some cheap reprints or even comprehensive omnibuses for all the past run, especially all of IDW G1 and 2, those idw collections weren’t cheap and honestly overpriced for the page count
So tired of GI. Joe getting shoehorned into everything Transformers. Not everyone who is into Transformers is also into GI. Joe and vice versa. In fact, I am willing to bet most Transformers fans aren't.
By now I think the same. Was maybe different during Marvel times and early DW maybe, but TF has such a wide range of media by now that the majority of fans were attracted by TFA, TFP, MtmtE or some of the movies or newer cartoons, not this. And even before that you had BW fans who probably also don't care.
I won't complain if it's just ever playing a role for some mini comics. But I hope that the main series will be TF only.
It's more of a generational thing
There's more cross interest among fans of both from the start
I have no interest in G.I. Joe on it's own but I always have at least some fun when it crosses over with Transformers.
Except the Dreamwave crossover. Jesus Christ that was shit.
Yes, even the worst of IDW1 TF/Joe was fun.
Transformers are timeless, while GI Joe is forever trying to recapture their glory days in the Reagan era that just don't interest kids these days.
But why? Kids like Call of Duty, Fortnite and other shooting games, what about GI Joe doesn't have timeless appeal?
Zoomers fricking hate America
millennials hate America
NTA but G.I. Joe interests me, but I've never tried it. What I have seen of it was the IDW TF/Joe crossover comic (which I didn't enjoy, sorry I know it's a fanfavorite), the first liveaction movie, and bits of the 80s show, and I always thought it was trying too hard to be toyetic and goofy (except the movie which was just boring).
From what I asked of fans, the consensus is basically just "the Marvel comics are the only good thing because they were the only ones that attempted being mature," is that true? If so then that'd explain why.
The cartoon is fun as a Saturday Morning Series if you don't mind the lack of actual death or blood or bullets or so on
There's No Place Like Springfield genuinely holds up very damn well
The ARAH comics though are where the franchise really earns its respect though there's still good stuff outside of it like Sierra Muerte
Most people aren't american. CoD is a global hit and has a way wider appeal even fujos are into it for some reason.
They've gone out of their way to make GI Joe as non-American and as international as possible, they dropped the "Real American Hero" tagline long ago except for the Larry Hama comic.
Yeah but it is or was essentially that before. Erasing this is like taking a core part of it away IMO. Again I am not a fan myself and not American either so it's kinda foreign to me anyway, but I don't think that a lot will remain if they take the US hero part away from a series that was made to be the series of an US hero.
I might be wrong though since I didn't watch anything recent with it, but I feel like it cannot make anybody happy with that. If it should be genuinely outdated then it would be better to let it rest so that fans remember the good parts of it but maybe I am wrong. Or maybe there is a way to make it work today. Not sure how heavy the sarcastic or otherwise comedic aspect is.
Will Skywarp join GI Joe again?
Probably not, that requires a lot of backstory to set up.
Still weird that it happened considering how he genocided millions upon millions of Chinese people.
Jets are literally hitler in this universe. This probably includes Pharma.
Didn't they retcon it by saying he was bad at math?
Has kirkman wrote a good comic in the last years?
Outcast was boring when I dropped it.
Although I agree that Revolution was not great, Revolution was a good crossover, and it and First Strike were better than previous Transformers events (Chaos, Combiner Wars and Titans Return) and about the other comics that came out after Revolution: Revolutionaries and Rom were great, GI Joe and Micronauts were good and only Mask and Visionaries were bad . Besides Optimus Prime and TAAO have a good quality (OP has the same quality as exRID, so the crossovers did not affect anything and TAAO was considered better than the mini-series of Windblade), in fact all the comics are good to and the only one that may have gotten worse was LL and was the only one unaffected by the crossovers. And the comics from other franchises do not affect the comics of Transformers, you're not required to read them to understand the comics of Transformers, and Revolutionaries is practically a comic of Transformers because of the 4 main characters 3 are characters of Transformers ex-RID, and also have two Transformers (and the writer is Jon Barber). Even the GI Joe characters that appear in Optimus Prime are pretty much the same characters that were part of EDC, just changed the name of the organization and they have GI Joe stickers on some of the military vehicles. And about the crossovers only Revolution and First Strike you have to read to understand Barber's comics (although Revolution is not 100% mandatory but your comics contains some references to it) and they are good. The crossover with Rom is great and the with Visionaries is awful. And Unicron it was a comic of Transformers since the characters of other franchises only appeared as extras.
>Skybound's comic is apparently a shared universe with TF and G.I. Joe
Oh for fricks sake. This sucked ass when IDW did it and I don't trust the frickwits at Skybound to do better.
Will they focus only on G1 characters again or will there be some Beast Wars characters now that Hasbro is caring more about that brand with the new movie?
Hasbro's only been focusing on that brand because it was recently an anniversary year. Don't expect it to last.
Probably G1 since its evergreen
Beast Wars characters might show up if Eukaris is brought back or ideally they can get their own ongoing again
I hope it's characters from all sorts of TF iterations, but in a new art/design-style to set it apart as its own thing.
They'll probably start out with the core G1 cast of Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, Starscream etc. and slowly expand from there.
I wonder who the "female lead" will be this time, Elita-One, Arcee or Windblade?
Windblade seems to have been entirely phased out of the franchise at this point.
Right now Elita seems to be the token in every new media so I hope it's someone else.
I generally hope that the core cast from the start will vary for once. Believing that it happens? Never ever, but it would be nice. Also, for the love of god please no mute Bee anymore.
Not in all new media, Elita wasn't in Rise of the Beasts, but Arcee was.
Mute Bumblebee was only ever a thing in the movies, the comics and cartoons always have him speak.
Prime and Cyberverse season 1.
Ah, full disclosure, I didn't watch Prime, and I'd only seen clips of Cyberverse where he did speak.
I wouldn't concentrate too much on the shared universe reveal. It doesn't mean that the will go full Barber, it's probably more of a thing for their new original comic and some mini comics with Joe and TF in the future.
Think that in general Skybound isn't such a bad choice. Could be much worse. We are at least guaranteed that it will be something that can be taken seriously and is targeting an older audience (aka older teens+ I mean) and the artist choices from the comics I have read so far weren't bad. Characters also often had good arcs. Not all series are great but I am still choosing to be cautiously optimistic. Honestly miss getting TF comics in general. Can't wait to get my monthly dose again.
Hope someone storytimes Void Rivals next week.
I dont see why "shared universe" illicits such an outrageous response. I mean, the way I understood it, people liked the IDW G.I. Joe Vs. Transformers comic because it was a standalone story that started out as a crossover from the start? That people generally disliked the other G.I. Joe (or other) crossovers because they were tacked-on into already long-running standalone series's? So, what's the issue if this is being planned as a shared universe from the beginning?
Because people are sick of shared universes replacing authenticity to the source material.
The source material are toys though, you know, the kind of thing kids just mash together regardless of "canon"? I would have my Transformers fight Bionicles.
But the source material has GI Joe and Transformers crossing over.
>Because people are sick of shared universes replacing authenticity to the source material.
??????????????
A shared universe IS authentic to the source material.
>Look at the size of 'em ears...
Holy shit I didn't even think twice about them before now. Now I'm going to be thinking about them every time I see them, frick you G.I. Man. Well, at least it's a break from thinking about Shockwave's voluptuous boob...
Because I am only fan of one of those other IPs and don't want to be forced to read about series I am not interested in because they are vital to understand the plot of the one series that I came for. This is not meant to be criticism against the respective other series themselves. It's just annoying as shit marketing. If want meat I don't want to be forced to eat a cake after every piece of sausage.
I mean, who's to say it'll be like that?
Just because a shared universe was done annoyingly once in IDW doesn't mean every single shared universe ever made is suddenly shit; if you're reading Spider-Man, do you need to read every single Iron Man comic just because they're in the same universe and sometimes cross over? Of course not, you fricking dip.
I don't get why it's such a foreign concept to some that people don't want lemons when they are asking for bananas.
It doesn't matter how good it's written. If I am into X I want to read X. Not A, not B, not even Y. I don't want to read about characters, settings and stories I didn't come for and don't care about. Would you read a TF ongoing if it was a shared universe with Steven Universe or Naruto too? Or does it only apply to GI Joe because you happen to be a fan of that? If yes then you feel like the other anons that complain about it, if no then we simply disagree about what makes a story good.
I'm not a fan of Joe, I'm very neutral about it and haven't really enjoyed what I've seen of it in fact (mainly the movies and a bit of the 80s show).
And once again, just because it's a shared universe doesn't necessarily mean the active plots will be never-endingly crossing over, requiring to read both ongoings to follow the story.
I can be a fan of Batman without giving a single solitary shit about Hawkman; does Hawkman existing somehow ruin Batman's comics? Of fricking course it doesn't you autist because him showing up is barely more likely than winning the lottery, and if he does he'll probably frick off within a page. You have never read a comic book before.
I wouldn't mind an animated version of a series that has a crossover between G.I. Joe and Transformers as the main point of the series.
But is G.I. Joe popular enough to even have a cartoon series appearance? Last Joe-cartoon was more than a decades ago, right?
I wonder how they'll change Optimus Prime and Megatron's backstory and relationship this time. Will they keep Megatron more sympathetic and a former close friend of Orion Pax like most modern incarnations have done?
I hope so, I prefer it when Decepticons have an actual justifiable ideology as opposed to just being evil for the sake of evil.
I’ve always thought they should be an army propped up by the Senate, working-class stiffs sent to fight pointless wars on foreign soil for fuel they won’t get.
Megatron starts as a grunt and rises through the ranks, becoming more and more bitter and the army gradually becomes despotic, hateful of non-military types, cold and outright hostile to non-mechanical life (PTSD+years of endless war)
Maybe the Senate casts aside those too broken to fight, leaving them to become empties, their minds ruined from unending centuries of war and their bodies damaged by alternative fuel sources because the Senate doesn’t care about “disposables”
Megatron has enough and during a “military parade” celebrating the corrupt Senate, he turns the guns of his flagship on the seat of power and attempts a quick takeover of the planet. Using Soundwave to upload a virus to anyone linked into Teletraan watching the parade to reprogram them.
The Autobots are citizen soldiers trained by those among the military who went against the plan and led by a mysterious soldier said to have emerged from the Decepticon’s vicious takeover of important locales.
Cybertron’s great army cut loose and killing anyone in their way, keeping their “rogue military hardware” origin
just do a variation of the G1 cartoon origin
But that's the most boring one, although I do like how in that version Megatron wasn't the founder of the Decepticons.
If GI Joe is to be done right they need to put the America back in Real American Heroes. Have Cobra be an organization hellbent on bringing about globalization.
Cobra always wanted globalization, their stated goal is world domination.
>always
They were a Trump stand-in last comic series.
Have an alien race called the Quintessons be the creators of the Transformers who made military hardware robots to fight in gladiatorial games and domestic servant robots that are the scientists and workers.
The war machine robots became the Decepticons, and the worker robots became the Autobots.
Military-Industrial Complex trying to consume everything because it is inherent, and only the working class can stop the senseless greed.
Instead of gladiators the Decepticons should be a mercenary army for hire, sent to fight wars across the galaxy to make money for the Quintessons. They rebel, overthrow the Quintessons and set out to conquer the people who used them as disposably cannon fodder
Maybe if it were with the GoBots, could be a neat wrinkle to their whole "cyborgs who don't remember what they even used to be" deal.
The Cybertronians, though? Nah, it was always stupid. The idea that a bunch of robots suddenly developed souls, overtook their masters, and the Quintessons proceeded to never touch the society ever again until billions of years later when the Cybertronians have all forgotten them? That's too much belief to be suspended.
(Plus, the Quintessons are shortsighted selfish idiots. It would be WAY more believable that they'd manipulate and attempt to mangle a once-organic race into mere mechanical servants for nothing but profit - as opposed to "yo we made robots but suddenly they decided to grow senses of consciousness!).
The Furman comics are my favorite Transformers stuff, but I'm ready for a take on it that gets rid of Primus and sparks and the more supernatural elements. I can buy Transformers as sentient AI.
Same here. The McGuffin shit is my biggest critique on most TF stories. Matrix and such can exist and contain some sort of power linked to the planet but I don't want too much of it since it usually undermines the better parts of the narrative and fricks up character writing.
Is there any reason to watch this if I don't like CGI spam fests and consider Arcee ugly? Everything I have seen and heard about it so far seemed quite bland to be honest.
Huh. Neat.
