Infinite Crisis was a really weird time looking back. So many characters died and so many "irrevocable" events took place but, when you really think about most people didn't care. I think Superboy Prime was the biggest fallout from that. Oh yeah, and the recreation of the Multiverse.
The problem was One Year Later and 52. It was a free pass to skip past all the stuff that people should have been addressed immediately after the event ended.
Golden rule: realism and intimate portrayal of a crime>Kill count.
A villain can kill as many characters as they want but.. say we get a long drawn out sequence where they beat up some innocent dude in an alleyway, then we visibly see the victim with permanent brain damage in an assisted living home while attending physical therapy. Line's been crossed, irredeemable because we've now seen the realistic results of felony battery
10 years ago I was Terra's age in that comic where she and Slade do the deed.
I remember vividly the hundreds of students in my grade at school talking about fricking, drinking, smoking, dipping, etc etc. So maybe I'm just a bit jaded to that aspect.
It would be different to me if Terra had been actively resisting and trying to fight him off but she comes off as a willing participant.
Oh well, just my two cents.
The problem with the original comic is that original Terra was hardly written like a teenager. I get where you're coming from with jadedness but, the thing about teens is they're horny. That doesn't necessarily mean they know what they're doing.
>I don't think 40 years olds should just teens, but at some point we should admit that kids start watching porn and violent movies pretty early
That's why we should ban porn and parents should monitor their kids activities more.
but Terra did know what she's doing, same for the other Titans in that comic if you didn't say otherwise you wouldn't have guessed they were younger than mid 20s. You can't generalise and say Slade sleeping with Terra is bad when Terra did know what she's doing and initiated, because SOME other teenagers in the world wouldn't know what they're doing in sex. Just a general observation on how stupid the age of consent psyop is. Especially given Terra is above the age of consent even if you adhere to that.
This is fairly normal. In the Injustice comics Harley surgically inserted a nuke into a pregnant woman and then it blew up and destroyed a major metropolitan city, and the rest of the series was about her angsting about it.
Is it ever actually stated that he was sexually attracted to Terra?
I think he was just doing that to manipulate her, not because he really wanted to. I'm not saying that's better than actually being into underage girls, and it could be argued that it's actually worse because it means he just didn't give a shit rather than having a mental illness that makes him horny for minors, but either way, there is a difference.
>and then make it okay
Do NOT look up the joint University of Oxford and University of Cambridge research study into what age of females was considered the most attractive to men.
People respond to things that are closer to home. The number of people who genocide cities is under the single digits. Pedos, however, are a dime a dozen.
Depends if this is the good timeline or not.
Ideally it's a storyline with Dick, Rose, and Joey. Maybe Gar and Tara too.
But probably another Deathstroke v Batman arc.
Crazy how nobody from the Society or the Brotherhood ever suffered any consequences for Bludhaven. DC completely dropped the ball.

Nobody cared about Bludhaven. The show made people care about Terra.

Fair enough
I don't know
I watched Breaking bad when I was 13, most my classmates did
It's kind of weird when people will insist that I should have been "protected" from seeing such mature themes
I don't think 40 years olds should just teens, but at some point we should admit that kids start watching porn and violent movies pretty early

Where are those good old family values in which we used to rely?
HANK

Its that. He admits as much.
Right, so he's not a pedophile.
There's truth to this honestly cause that part tends to overshadow the other bad shit he did like with Jericho.
Yeah, I always got that vibe from him that he was just manipulating her. He's really good at that.
What did he do to Jericho? Gave him the death he begged for after the corrupted dead souls of Azarath possessed him and turned him crazy?
Slit his throat.
It's been stated multiple times that he didn't actually care or even like Terra, he was just using her.
>do both
>get to be a hero
They wrote a whole storyline to establish Hal was attracted to a 14 year old and then make it okay
>and then make it okay
Do NOT look up the joint University of Oxford and University of Cambridge research study into what age of females was considered the most attractive to men.
Hal is such a chad.
Hal wasn't interested in Arisia until she changed her body to look like an adult woman.
What is this revisionism?
>It's fine as long as she looks like an adult
You see how this can be seen as a problem
Don't put my words in my mouth, my point is that Hal was never attracted to Arisia when she looked like a little girl.
what? when did that happen
I don't care because I don't want to nuke a city, but I care because I want to sleep with a hot teenager girl. Why should he get to be happy?
She isn't even hot.

Cities can be rebuilt, Slade.
no way gay.
