I enjoyed Season 1 but it didn't blow my mind.
The worst thing that could happen to Smiling Friends is that it crawls up its own ass Rick and Morty style. It's a good antidote to the "dude swearing lmao dude violence lmao" trend in modern media and I hope they stay that way.
Basically S2 will be good as long as they make more of S1.
I'll admit I'm being biased but I'm willing to give that a pass because Charlie doesn't seem to be in a lot of pain and there's no blood in the scene.
Rick and Morty or Family Guy would have had him flail around in agony while blood shoots everywhere.
Similar with the S1 scene where they kill the forest demon, it felt close to Wile E. Coyote than it did to SAW.

I'm honestly not excited about it at all. Feels very much like a bad rehash of Season 1, the premiere Gwimbly episode felt like an ai generated script (it was still funny in some parts)

-Grim and Gnarley smiling because they managed to drive someone crazy

-Satan Smiled because he was having fun torturing charley

Those felt a bit dissonant to me as opposed to say, Shrimp finding love. Like it felt odd to have a heartwarming music queue play over James smiling, who is only smiling because he just knife-murdered some random CEO who died in a pool of his own blood. A great episode honestly, but I feel like they have difficulty writing positive uplifting endings. Not that the show has to be mr rogers or something, but its a bit more negative than people realize.
If you ignore the actual means most of those are still pretty understandable >Desmond learns to that personal purpose stops life from feeling pointless >Frowning friends feel happy because The Boss recognized their intelligence and ability to create good business >The princess is happy because she doesn't need to fear her stalker
The other two are just violence but one of them is Satan so that checks out and James's solution is meant to be more of a joke because of how stupid and immediate it was. Plus the after credits scene just shows that he was a moronic schizo anyway
