I could see the show being rebranded similar to how YOLO is rebranded each season so it has a different name. Maybe the Smiling Friends’ occupation could change?

The Simon S Salty episode in season 1 is just a murder mystery episode. They don't have to make anyone smile, the boss just calls them up and tells them that they are detectives now.
