So are we gonna talk about this movie or what?

Generally speaking I think I had a pretty healthy message of how to deal with heartbreak. It doesnt wallow in tragedy like I thought it would based on the trailer. The animation is superb and Its one of the few animated films this year Ive watched over and over because I just adore the setting and attention to detail.

For a movie with almost no dialogue It delivered its tone and characters better than anything Ive seen from the mainstream.

The point of watching pictures from other countries is to get an immersive window into the real and mental landscape of said countries.
Not another millionth deformed version of Muttistan seen through the glass of consumed Muttistani entertainment.

You see Im on board with what youre trying to say but you keep using mutt as if its supposed to resonate with me in any way.

Mutt is the biggest sign of a foreign poster because you THINK it offends americans. You can just call us fat or say we pay too much for healthcare. DO I need to teach the rest of the world how to properly hate America because we're the best at that too?

Honestly I don't worry about REAL America and real people having to live in USA.

I see Muttistan rather as the pop-culture simulated version of America made and transmitted entirely through Hollywood and American entertainment worldwide.
This new generation of filmmakers, artists, animators on a global scale grew up with this simulation to the point their entire mental landscape has been deformed so badly they can't even depict the country they live in anymore.

Pretty much the same way anime fans see Japan. Except anime fans who manage to get published dont set everything in their simulated version of Japan. At some point they realize they are not Japanese and get in touch with reality again.

For Muttistan fans, waking up is more difficult because most of the time they don't even realize.

But this movie is very specifically about mid 80s New York, made my the Spanish and French.

Not only are you off, youre wayyyyyy off the mark. Youre not even close to having an opinion. Did you even see the movie?

            >The only way to have dreams, optimism or even functioning human relationships is to keep boomerland (Hollywood version of it) alive in our minds forever.
            It's over.
Enjoy your endless reboots, remakes, chewed and rechewed rehash of daddy's TV memories to the point you will find the movie Joker original.

You must have a hollow life lacking of kindness if a bit of optimistic Nostalgia in a mute cartoon triggers you.

I'm sure Once Time in Hollywood also makes you shit sriracha.

This one’s more positive-leaning, but I’m annoyed too. You can’t have conversation about this movie unfortunately. Same as it ever was.

I tried this thread a few days ago but that was the only time.

Theres like 3 smiling friends threads upwhy cant I get a thread going about an actual animated film. I cant go to /t/ because thats just shitposting.

First anon you replied to. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to make a thread about this movie, but if you don’t know already, you’ll find out there’s one or two schizos that are ass blasted by this film for unknown reasons and will try to eliminate discussion if they find the thread. That’s why I said there’s a natural avoidance to Robot Dreams threads.

But if you’re still here, want to talk about the movie some more? I loved it.

woah you mean...anon tried to get a conversation going? And when it didn't work he tried another time to see if it'd work? That's unheard of!

I loved it. I got divorced a couple years ago and everything dog and robot go through I went through in the process, right down to seeing your ex in public, fantazising about it and hiding when they turn.

It's surprising how immersive it was without dialogue, really drew you in, and the animation was surprisingly good as well. It's one of the best animated movies, and movie in general I've ever seen.
